CALVIN’S TOP-5 CAPTAINS
No. 1 – Gulden v FREO
@ SCG, SAT 1:45pm
Ohhhh Errol…. He’s the No. 1 man on form averaging 144 in his last three games and returns to the SCG where he has averaged 116 with some big scores there of 151, 117 and 116 from his five games. He only scored 95 (6 free against) when he played the Dockers earlier this year but the match-up is no issue. Form is hot. He is at the SCG. Tick, tick, tick… Boom!
No. 2 – Gawn v BRIS
@ the GABBA, FRI 7:40pm
In round five, Gawn had 149 at the MCG (23d, 5m, 5t and 51 h/o) against Oscar McInerney. Now… this isn’t a fluke as last year Max had 162 against him also (MCG also). Gawn dominates Oscar… it’s as simple as that. Oscar has been tough for others this year though but Gawn is averaging 120 this year and prior to that sub-100 score he did have 152, 122 and 148.
No. 3 – Zorko v MELB
@ GABBA, FRI 7:40pm
Zorko at the GABBA is a different player. This year there he has averaged 132 from six games with a lowest score of 102 and a highest of 184. Earlier this year he had 117 against Melbourne and recently half-backs have scored well enough with Fisher 88, Maynard 102, Noble 94, Clark 151 and Ryan 142 all cashing in. Zorko at home can not be ignored.
No. 4 – Walsh v RICH
@ MCG, SUN 3:20pm
The match-up suits perfectly and no tags will be used. Richmond give up the most 100-plus scores and the second most 120-plus scores and usually it’s hard not to score in this game. Walsh is coming off 113, 79, 133 and 114 and the last time he played the Tigers he had 109 (2022).
No. 5 – Marshall v PORT
@ Marvel, SUN 1:10pm
Marshall has been in the media this week and should come out firing in this one against a team where the ruck role changes week to week. Either way, whether it’s Soldo or Sweet it won’t matter… Rowan is back under the roof and could pump out one of his big ones right here.
NEW ARTCILE: #TagWatchTW
A new article is now up weekly on our patreon. The article is #TagWatchTW… and it covers the weekly tags and the draw that players have coming up. Below is an edited version on what you can expect. But head to your patreon space where I cover all 18 teams and all angles that the tags might be coming from. For example, although the odds are slim… but Jordan Dawson could be in line for Bedford, Berry, Windhager, Nash and Blicavs in the next six weeks. Out of those… I believe Berry, Nash and Blicavs are locks to happen.
I also go through the specific tags week to week. JOIN US to find this and much more…
What is the better combo?
Gawn/Zorko VC, Gulden C
Gulden VC, Walsh C
:(
Hope u took Walsh buddy
So do you take a zorko 118 or take a chance on gulden?
Gawn VC was a fail.
Now relying on Gulden as my C to come through with the goods.
Is vanruin, idk spelling from Melbourne a play
Gulden failed me after Gawn vc.
Lesson learnt if Bont is sick or does not train properly during the week he is a VC or C option every time he is named on field.
Same for me John, fortunately Errol saved me a bit with his last half – last quarter esp.
Late second ruck add for Rowan…sigh
