Arrrrgggg me hearties…. this week I’ve never been so confident with my captain selections. Each and every one of these guys should have a day out and I also honestly believe…. we could see a couple of 150s from this group. Good luck legends…. let’s get cracking.

CALVIN’S TOP-5 CAPTAINS
#1 β Tim English v Hawthorn @ Marvel Stadium, SAT 4:35pm
This guy is the highest avweraging player for the year and must be used as your ‘fall back guy’ guy this week and there are no flags to suggest otherwise. English scored 114 (against Lynch/McEvoy) last year on the Hawks and has hit 110+ in every game in 2023. He has averaged 132 in his last three games and should have this one his own way. The safest option in town.
#2 β Nick Daicos v Adelaide @ Adelaide Oval, SUN 4:40pm
Ohhh Ben Keays might tag him – owww how scary… ok, it is a slight concern because for the first time this year, little piggy Nick might have it a little harder than what he has. I’m not fussed, he has scored 140, 136 and 126 in his last three and the way he plays is going to make it very hard for Keays to get close. Last year against the Crows he scored 147 and 73 with the big one there (the 147) happened at Adelaide Oval.
#3 β Rowan Marshall v Port Adelaide @ Marvel Stadium, FRI 7:50pm
Big news here is…. no Scott Lycett, but they did bring in Finlayson to support. Rucks against Teakle have gone nuts. Last week, Bailey Williams hit 101 (21 touches) and last year, Nankervis dominated him with 137 . Marshall is my VC tonight.
#3 β Clayton Oliver v North Melbourne @ the MCG, SAT 7:25pm
His 103 on Monday was his 18th straight ton on the MCG. He even scored a huge 151 on the Roos last year and returns back to the MCG to get another ton this weekend. I’ve never seen a guy play our a game like him, he chases stats right to the end… its a thing of beauty.
#5 β Tim Taranto v Gold Coast @ Marvel Stadium, SUN 3:20pm
This guy is elite and hasnβt gone under 108 this year, especially in captaincy terms. He had 138 last week and has now averaged 120 in his last three. A great, reliable fall back option on Sunday.
#6 β Connor Rozee v St Kilda @ Marvel Stadium, FRI 7:50pm
I don’t normally have 6 players in my top-5 but we need to mention Rozee and he is a super VC option tonight. Carlton had six players hit 110+ and four went over 125. The four were all MIDsβ¦ Walsh (131 β 38d), Cerra (130 β 39d), Acres (126 β 36d) and Cripps (126 β 34d). There is shitloads of ball to be won for a guy who has bulk CBAs and is coming off 133 and 108.
Also… if you are a fan of the Scale of Hardness…. who wouldn’t be, just remember that it can found RIGHT HERE, each and every week updated in colours and with my “take aways” and best picks moving forward. This also includes targeted players with an small snip of this below. Get around it to be the best version of yourself!
KADE CHANDLER – Scale says hold
His time is getting near but look at his draw… you need to see that through first. There could be a couple of 70+ games on the cards if he can get it all together. He currently is the fifth most traded out player and I think that’s wrong. Give him three more weeks where he will average 70+ in my books.
ZAK BUTTERS – Trade target
Roy reads the scale… he see these things coming and that’s why the smartest mind in Fantasy targeted Butters last week. He was just ok last week with 88, but remember what I said above about the Saints (against Rozee). It’s bloody nuts and he will ton up tonight and potentially average 100 over his next five games.
