#1 – Clayton Oliver v Richmond
At the MCG, MONDAY 7:25pm
Oliver has averaged 116 in his last three games and had that great save last week with 53 in the final term. His score of 108 was truly an amazing save. He scored 129 last year and 124 before that. The Tigers are #3 easiest for MIDs to score against and don’t use taggers. Easy No.1 pick once again.
#2 – Nick Daicos v Essendon
At the MCG, TUESDAY 3:20pm
Daicos is coming off two super games where he had 136 and 126 and meets the Bombers who are #2 easiest for DEFs and the #6 easiest for MIDs. A tag from Setterfield is the only concern after he held Oliver (the untaggable) to 27 at the half last week. Merrett being out means they surely can’t tag a guy coming off half-back.
#3 – Rowan Marshall v Carlton
At Marvel Stadium, SUNDAY 3:20pm
Match-up is great for the big man who nearly got to No.2 this week. His form is elite with 134, 107 (subbed), 100 and 116… and rucks against Carlton recently have been O’Brien (89), Goldy (82) and Flynn (69). Expect a 120, especially under the roof where he thrives.
#4 – Touk Miller v Kangaroos
At HBS , SUNDAY 4:40pm
Touk averaged 117 at home last year and plays against a team he has smoked in the past with scores of 102, 135, 112 and 130. This could be nasty against a team that ranks #7 easiest for MIDs.
#5 – Tim English v Fremantle
At Optus Stadium, FRIDAY 8:10pm
English is averaging 123 in his last three and carries a lowest score of 111 this year. Rucks haven’t score well against Sean Darcy this year but that because they all suck. The only real ruckman to go against him are Marshall (72) and ROB (65). He’ll be tough, but we must back in a guy playing like this.
OTHERS TO CONSIDER:
RORY LAIRD … a great VC option this week. His 118 was great last week, but he did only have 35 in the second half. He scored 132 on the Hawks last year and 142 then 109 (in Tas) before that.
BRAD CROUCH … Beast of a bloke with scores of 118, 125 and 122 in his last three. Adelaide had 5×100+ against the Blues last week with Dawson (133) and Laird (118) leading the way.
CALEB SERONG … ranked #4 on form averaging 119 in his last three and even had 122 on the Bulldogs last year who can give up plenty. Not a bad VC option for Friday.
HARRY SHEEZEL… If I don’t mention him people crack the shits. Too late in the weekend for a VC option unless you get really crafty. Suns give up the 4th most points to DEFs… VC only if you can.
