Tassie should have had a team in the league before Gold Coast and GWS. I certainly hope it happens before too long. So much talent has come from Tassie over the years. 🤞

100% agree with you Dulcify. I still cannot understand why QLD and NSW have 2 teams each while Tassie don’t have a team. Now I know St Melbourne and Fitzroy had to do something to survive. Do I think its crazy having 2 teams in each of the States. YES. But Its just my opinion (Whether it’s right or wrong I’m not sure) but I would merge the two NSW and QLD teams so there is 16 teams. Then add a Tassie Team. I’m a massive Swan supporter and have been for around 50 years and wouldn’t like to see the Swans merge. I just think it is best for the game.

Well said Marcus. I started barracking for the Swans in 1958 when my nan knitted me my first footy jumper. (She was born in Port Melbourne).
I would like to see Tassie and the NT both have teams, this will mean a 20 team league. Play each other once, means a completely fair draw. To extend the season to 21 rounds we could have two position rounds. 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-20. Throw in a bye round for all teams half way through the season. Cheers.

The idea of a Northern Terrritory team would complete the package of a true national competition, however the low population of the NT would hinder its progress. 250,000 in the entire territory and 14,000 or so as record crowds at an AFL game suggest that a team from NT will only ever be a pipe dream.
