Thursday – Updated news
New news before remaining round teamsheets, Bailey Smith has been banned for a further 2 games for admitting to illicit drug use. We have a much needed Ruck/fwd rookie debut for Port, straight from the midseason draft, with Brynn Teackle. Early reports are that Shannon Neale is on the plane to perth, so he could earn a game (Possibly the medical sub). Travis Boak is out due to Health and Safety protols, as is Luke Cleary for western Bulldogs. Lastly Darcy Parish has been ruled out of tomorrows clash with the saints.
NEW: In a late round of announcements there has been a glut of rookie debuts this week with def Massimo D’Ambrosio for Dons, def/fwd Rhett Bazzo for Eagles, def/mid Ryan Angwin for GWS.
Wednesday – Early news
Its round 13, the 3rd and final bye round. Another Thursday early game with Tigers vs Carlton, so we get their teamsheets a day early.
Its looking like a carnage round already, with popular rookies Owens out with concussion protocol. Also really sad news after his long awaited comeback, defender Caleb Marchbank is out for 6-8 weeks with a knee injury, this opens the way for mid season draft rookie Sam Durdin. Although its his bye round, Max Gawn has a syndesmosis injury, typically 4-8 weeks. and Dustin Martin is highly unlikely to play this week due to illness.
Dont forget that Lions, Pies, Dockers, Hawks, Dees and Roos all have a bye this week, so plan accordingly.
Important times to remember:
Thursday game Tigers vs Pies teamsheet ~6:20pm EST Wednesday June 15
Weekend Teamsheets ~6:20pm EST Thurs June 16
Sunday games Extended bench selection ~5:00pm EST Friday June 17
GAME 1: Thursday June 16, Tigers vs Blues
Notes: As already noted, Dusty Martin is out with illness, Marchbank is out with a knee injury, and we have midseason draft defender Sam Durdin as a debut. Some teams may also have Adam Cerra as a POD, who is out with an injury as well.

GAME 4: Saturday June 18, Eagles vs Cats
Notes: Its a rookie debut extravaganza, with Bazzo getting a debut. Those stuck with Willie Rioli on their bench, have him back in. A bit of a shock here is Greg Clark getting dropped, and POD defender Witherden is also omitted. Menegola is finally back for the cats. Will he affect the cats midfielders?

GAME 5: Saturday June 18, Giants vs Dogs
Notes: Woohoo..moar rookies! Angwin is a debut for the giants. The huge in for this, is big man Preuss who is finally back in after being sick. Perryman is out for awhile with a rib injury, and Stein had a nice lil cameo as medi sub last week, dropped unless he is medisub again. Those hoping Buku Khamis could cover a hole, will be disappointed, he is out. And as well reported Bailey Smith has extended his time out with an extra 2 week illicit drug ban.

GAME 6: Sunday June 19, Suns vs Crows
Notes: Dont forget Sunday extended bench is selected about 5pm Friday. The name that pops out for me here is Elijah Hollands, although only just on the extended bench selection, he has been a name bandied around from the preseason. Doubtful people still have him, but worth mentioning, Rachele is back in for the crows. Parnell is named in the extended bench, and has reportedly been training with the firsts.

Not sure who to get for Max Gawn, I already have English, was looking at Preuss but not even sure he will be playing… that leaves me with the option of either Nankervis or Witts, thoughts?

Preuss is back in. Has still lots of cash to make and has been scoring well when he plays.

J.Sinclair, R.Laird or L.Whitfield? Sinclair and Whitfield would mean I would have reasonable cash left over to then upgrade M.Owens as well, Laird would leave me with only around 80K, thoughts?

I took Sinclair before Whitfield.
I find Whitfield gets injured too often.

Hayes couldn’t get a game at Port if he was the only ruck in South Australia.
What did he do? Drop a fart in Hinkley’s office?
