AFL Teams 2022: Round 13 (BYE 2)

Round 13, Bye 2 All teamsheets have now dropped, check them out here.

Thursday June 9 – News Update

Mid season number 1 draft pic Jai Culley with see WAFL action 1pm EST Saturday, and has been training well at the Eagles. With not many downgrade options, if he absolutely guns in WAFL, some might consider an early, albeit risky downgrade trade in the hope hes named in the next few weeks or even next round.

Wednesday June 8 – Early news

Its Round 13, and the 2nd Bye, and this week we have an early Thursday game with Tigers vs Port at 7:20pm. Teamsheets for the opening match drop tonight, with remaining teams dropping as usual Thursday 6:20pm. Some early news, Tigers will debut mid/fwd rookie Judson Clarke who is $232k. For the blues we get a cheap def option coming back from injury with Caleb Marchbank, unfortunately not basement priced at $294k. Its also confirmed that champion of the game Nat Fyfe will make his long awaited return. Those who held Reef McInnes might have been initial happy at a late inclusion last week, would be sad to know hes out for the season with a shoulder injury. It’s also looking likely that ruck rookie Sam Hayes wont play since he didnt do captains run and hasnt flown to Melbourne, and Maurice Rioli has been named in the 2nds. Also Preuss owners are pretty nervous with some concerning comments from coach McVeigh.

The 6 games this weekend will also be thinned right out, with not just a Thurday game but a Monday game with Pies vs Dees, which means you wont know extended benches for that game until Saturday afternoon.

Dont forget that Crows, Cats, Suns, Swans, Eagles, Dogs all have a bye this week, so plan accordingly.

Important times to remember:

GAME 2: Friday June 10, Bombers vs Blues

Notes: Stringer might be a POD himself if he fires, but Im more interested in seeing how he affects other players such as Nic Martin. Two downgrade options here, we knew about Marchbank, but Jordan Boyd back in at $251k is also an option. He has scored only in 30s or 40s however. There is some talk that Harry McKay back in will help free up Cripps from his recent horrible half ruck role.

GAME 3: Saturday June 11, Dockers vs Hawks

Notes: As reported, Fyfe is back. He said himself in interviews he’ll likely play a more forward role. Those hoping that Conor MacDonald will help fill holes over byes will be disappointed with his omission. We see another cheap rookie option with hawks fwd rookie Jackson Callow, but with previous scores of 23 and 46 I’d not expect too much.

GAME 5: Sunday June 12, Roos vs Giants

Notes: Extended Bench for this Sunday game updates ~5pm Friday. Huge watchlist in with Aaron Hall finally back in. With a huge BE its a watch and see how he goes in my opinion. Whitfield is also back in for those who held, or those who want a slightly cheaper rd 12 defender premium. Concerningly both Wehr and Preuss are named on the extended bench. You wont know until after tonights game if they are in or not. Jake Stein is also included on extended bench those who have him sitting on their pine still.

GAME 6: Monday June 13, Pies vs Dees

Notes: Extended bench selection for Monday game updates ~4pm Saturday. We wont know these full squads until almost all games are finished this week. Nothing to xoncerning though for extended bench, a small chance of a new rookie debut with both Isaac Chugg and Daniel Turner. As reported earlier, sadly Reef McInnes is out for the season with a shoulder injury.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter@BaggersShags ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.

After holding Dixon all this time and dreaming of getting rid of him for so long, mainly because the usual other issues come up, f@$#%!’n SHayes gets the axe. Now, if I axe Dixon, which I really wanted to do on his bye, I have a more valuable piece of deadwood, in f@$#%!’n SHayes, sitting on the pine. Is it possible that f@$#%!’n SHayes will return for Port? I doubt it, seeing that they would rather have no ruck than play f@$#%!’n SHayes. If Finlayson goes down, they would probably play Teakle or draft Peter Dinklage in to ruck before playing f@$#%!’n SHayes again.

Do I really have to keep Dixon? This would mean that my entire round 13 strategy of trading out Rowell, McCartin and Dixon has been totally kyboshed by f@$#%!’n SHayes axing, Bazheadbutt losing it and my even more desperate desire to get rid of Steinlager.

I really enjoyed that rant mate. Spat out my drink at the Peter Dinklage comment!

Thanks Shags. I was a tad cranky, and it seemed to write itself.

Has certainly thrown a spanner in the works with Hayes being dropped.

I’ll wait for the teams tomorrow to see who else is out, before revising my trades.

I’m suspecting I will now not have 18 players on the field this week.

Might just trade Hayes to anyone else, for cash.

My season rank gonna take a hit with Rioli Hayes already missing gets me 17 an that’s dreaming all 3 of wahr, Hamilton an Pruess play.

    June 9, 2022 at 7:07 pm

All these extended bench rooks are really screwing me over. Gotta hope that one of them play (and Pruess) otherwise I might have to get rid of Clark too early

        June 10, 2022 at 10:12 am

Unfortunately, I already brought him in as a cheap option.

Lesson learned: only bring in real prems.

Fk. Played around with trade options after tonights game to see what my options where, and now cant reverse trades because in the process I moved SDK back to defense. Lame.

do emergencies work during byes? I’ve got Sam Hayes on field in R2 and want to trade out witts on his bye, put darcy cameron in R3 with emergency on then use DPP to get a mid. Will i get cameron’s score for hayes?

Sidebottom or Merrett? – $200K difference. If I take Merrett, $0 dollars to start with next week.

    • FaddyCrown

      June 10, 2022 at 5:40 pm

You have to go Merrett. Sidebottom could drop a 40 on you any week.

Who else here has Owens on the field? This round is a fiasco!
