Josh Dunkley (MID/FWD, $15,280)
Saturday v Richmond
Coming off scores of 132 and 112, Dunkley appears to be in the injury-free form of 2021. Up against the Tigers on the MCG on Saturday is the big stage that Dunkley has been craving. The Dogs have been playing Thursday night games under the marvel roof and this has all the makings of a big show from the guy who can fill a stat line in all areas.
Patrick Naish (MID, $9,540)
Saturday v Collingwood
Under $10,000, Naish has been getting the job done for the depleted Eagles with recent scores of 90 and 92. We all know Collingwood can give up points on their day and even thought the Eagles have been losing, this former Tiger has continued to impress at his new club.
Tristian Xerri (RUC/FWD, $9,610)
Saturday v Sydney
A wet SCG should result in more stoppages for the Kangaroo’s new No. 1 ruckman who is up against Ladhams, Sydney’s No. 2 ruckman after Hickey was ruled out last night. Coming off 79 and 92 in his last two games, X-erri is set to be solid once again.
Marcus Windhager (MID, $6,000)
Sunday v Hawthorn
Wing-hager is named on a wing for the Saints in a surprise selection last night. The Saints matched a bid from Geelong to snare PURA Next Generation Academy member at pick No. 47 in last year’s draft. The 18 year old has previously represented Australia in the 2018 FIBA Under-15 Oceania Basketball Championships and is coming off 111 in the VFL from 31 touches. We love a basketball background!
James Sicily (DEF, $12,090)
Sunday v St Kilda
St Kilda are bleeding points to defenders and rank as the easiest in the game to score against at the moment. Last week, Short and Broad combined for 20 marks against the Saints and if the ball is up for grab in the back half this weekend, expect Sic-Dawg to be right up amongst it.
Jack Steele (MID, $16,550)
Sunday v Hawthorn
Ok hear me out because I don’t usual have a guy over $16.5k as my best pick of the weekend.
- Steele hasn’t dropped under 100 this year and although he hasn’t been massive, he will at some point and this could be it.
- He has scored well across games, but has gone missing in some parts. Take last week for example when he was still on 0 with only minutes remaining in the first quarter, he went on to have 101
The Hawks give up the most points to Midfielders at the moment isn’t not funny….
- Round three…. Cripps 138, Hewett 119, Walsh 112
- Round two…. Boak 152, Amon 148, Butter 127, Wines 126
