Hawthorn averaged 368.0 Disposals in the 2019 H&A season (Rank 11), this was a negative regression compared to the 2018 H&A season in which the Hawks averaged 378.8 Disposals (Rank 9).
The loss of Tom Mitchell last season allowed for the emergence of 2019 B&F winner James Worpel, he elevated his game in the midfield in part due to the absence of Mitchell.
The addition of Worpel to the Hawthorn core midfield group does make it a little congested at the beginning of the 2020 H&A season with Mitchell expected to return, a watch over both pre-season games for impact is necessary.

2020 Potential Targets:
Tom Mitchell MID $671K
Pending good health the starting salary for Mitchell at Round 1 is too much value to ignore, as a result expect ownership to be extremely high to begin the season.
Mitchell missed the entire 2019 H&A season after breaking his leg during pre-season training, he averaged 128.2pts in 2018 (Incl. Finals) scoring 120pts or more in 58.3% of games.
Harrison Jones MID $170K
Before suffering a season ending shoulder injury Jones was averaging 15.5 Disposals, 3.5 Marks & 2.9 Tackles in the VFL in 2019, he is yet to make a senior debut at Hawthorn.
Jones was utilised in the midfield during the 2019 pre-season but spent the year in the VFL further developing his game, pending full fitness it wouldn’t be a surprise if Jones makes his debut in 2020.
Jon Patton RUCK/FWD $366K
The DPP status for Patton makes him one of the more intriguing players if he is named in Round 1, he averaged 70.4pts from 12 games in 2018 & 74.8pts from 22 games in 2017.
Patton does offer some value along with the extra bench cover if required, identifying his role over the pre-season will be necessary in order to determine how much value & scoring potential there actually is.
Many will be deterred from considering Patton based on price, one for the watch-list as a wait & see.
