Now for my best and sneaky best options for today…
Kane Lambert (MID, $7,500)
My unique pick of the day.
Fresh off a huge 120, Lambert certainly isn’t the type of player that I target on days like this. But let’s remember, he’s playing against the Suns, the easiest team to score against potentially in the history of AFL Fantasy.
Ok… that might be a stretch, but seriously, hear me out.
Lambert is now averaging 93 in his last three games and the way the Suns are traveling, you can add another 25 onto that here. In fact, he has been the highest averaging Tiger of the last 8 games. Get on it
Jayden Short (DEF, $7,300)
Today’s strategy: Find a Tiger and load up!
His 44 last week, might be enough to turn off even some if the biggest Short fans here.
So let’s remind ourselves that before that he went… 76, 98, 84, 108, 95, 74, 100 and 104. That’s an average of 92.
As I’ve said, the Suns give up a truckload and last week, the Demons went bananas against them, meaning Short won’t be that today… I’m tipping a nice loooong 100 on the cards.
Jarrod Lienert (DEF, $4,000)
A clear must have today. He has averaged 76 from his three games this year.
Named for the Power once again this week and at home he should be very serviceable.
Expect another 70+ from this man and at this price… you can’t go wrong.
Dayne Zorko (MID, $9,700)
His 176 against the Pies last year surely has caught my attention… but he’s been awesome against them before as well with 124, 122, 104 and 130.
They are by far his favourite team to score against and this week, he finds himself at Etihad, a ground he has scored 128 and 115 at in his last two runs. Impressive as!
Jamie Cripps (FWD, $7,200)
We need a forward and only Dunkley, Menegola and Devon Smith have averaged more in recent weeks.
Cripps has gone 102, 106 and 101 after kicking a swag of goals. This one will be much tougher though. Much tougher against the Power at Adelaide Oval.
However, form is form… and this man has a truckload of it and could even ton-up again.
Gary Ablett (MID, $9,800)
You know it!
But in case you don’t here are Ablett’s last 10 scores against the Hawks.
138, 153, 138, 129, 157, 132, 139, 175, 147, 135
So… that’s 10 games of data with a lowest score of 129, and if you dig even deeper we can go back to 15 games where his lowest score is only 109.
This is bloody insane.
Ablett did only have 76 last week though but before that, let’s not forget he had 130, 110 and 110. The other thing I like here is the fact that Gaz is at the MCG, a ground he has smashed in the past.
Although the Hawks can be tough to score against on their day, Essendon’s Zach Merrett (134) didn’t struggle last week and I can’t see the Little Master’s hot run coming to an end anytime soon.
