Now for my best and sneaky best options for today…
Tim English (RUC, $4,500)
With limited rucks on offer today, English not only offers amazing value, but the ability to score 90. Yes, Boyd comes back into the team and will attend a few ruck contests and this will impact on English’s score.
However, in recent weeks, English has been awesome scoring 90 and 86.
The only other option I like here is Nic Nat (RUC, $7,200) but at the end of the day, you’ll save a truckload of coin by running with this rookie who has been a stand-out pick now for the last two weeks.
Zach Tuohy (DEF, $7,700)
This one could go either way and could place you easily within the cash… if it comes off.
My logic here is purely based around the fact that Hurley (ESS) scored 131 against Port last week with 15 marks.
If Port are allowing this to happen… then Zach will be cashing in.
Sam Menegola (MID, $9,100)
He’s often over-looked in Moneyball because he can only be selected in the midfield and always sits awkwardly priced.
Menegola has scored 120 and 118 in recent weeks and as we know, he definitely benefits in the absence of others.
With Ablett on the sidelines (and set to return soon), we need to strike while the planets are aligned.
Taylin Duman (DEF, $3,500)
Another Freo debutant and this kid comes with some heavy numbers by his side.
Fresh off 28d and 10m last week in the WAFL, Duman will play today and could produce something special.
He has scored 110 and 91 in his last two WAFL games and let’s face it, at this price anything above 60 is more than a bonus.
Matt de Boer (FWD, $5,800)
At this price… in the forward line, de Boer must be considered today at this price.
Although he hasn’t been a great scorer in the past, he has been great this year with scores of 72, 70, 78, 84 and 78. A picture of consistency and he’s only up against the Saints.
He is averaging 20 touches, 4.5 marks and 2.5 tackles a game and under the roof at Etihad, he should be great for another 70-85 score.
Stephen Coniglio (MID, $9,500)
He’s cheaper than the likes of Macrae, Duncan and Dangerfield today and old mate Coniglio shapes as a ripping option today.
He has scored 115, 123 and 132 in his last three against the Saints and at the moment, the Saints are not overly competitive.
Under the roof at Etihad, he has averaged 103.6 in his last 5 games there and even his form alone warrants his selection today. Averaging 117 for the year, this gun carries a lowest score of only 111 this year and a top score of 146.
The Saints have given up the 3rd most points to opposition players in the last three weeks and this means… Cogs will be huge.
