Full weekend teams are in! A bit of carnage at the Hawks with Jaeger O’Meara (Mid $380,000) and Teia Miles (Mid/Fwd $173,000) out. At least they were nice enough to let us know before Monday extended bench selections which are after lockout.
After smashing out a 91 and making coaches quite happy, Jake Barrett (Mid $241,000) is a shock omission. With a BE of -20 I’d hold for now. We already knew that Jake Spencer (Ruck $281,000) would replace Gawn. His price is a bit awkward, but as the cheapest Ruck option and a crack as main ruck for Dees, a few may pick up.
Remember Matthew Kennedy (Fwd $202,000)? Hes back. Jasper Pittard (Def $496,000) is in as a sneaky defence POD is in for Brett Eddy (Fwd $179,000), but this is great news for Dan Houston (Fwd $263,000) owners whom many thought would go with Pittard back.

Full weekend teams to be announced from ~6:15pm tonight. Early news is Jonathon Beech (Fwd $150,000) has been upgraded from the rookie list so is a potential new debut as a replacement for Mitch McGovern who is out with a hamstring injury. Crows have info on him here.
Reports are Ben Long (Def/Fwd $202,000) will debut for saints with Jack Steven (Mid $607,000) ruled out for another week.
An interesting sidenote this week is that Boxhill Hawks play Footscray Friday at 2pm, but the Hawks main team doesn’t need to make extended bench selections until Saturday afternoon for the Monday game. So will Hawks play their extended bench players or not, and will this be an indication of which players will be selected for the Monday game…we will see.

Eagles vs Swans teams are in. Nothing really of note for the ins and outs Fantasy wise. Sam Naismith is out for swans, but unfortunately it appears Darcy Cameron (Ruck/Fwd $156,000) is also injured so no handy ruck rookie inclusion for this game

Round 4, and yet another partial lockout game with teams announced tonight for Thursdays Eagles vs Swans game at the Domain stadium in Perth. But wait, there’s more. Full lockout doesn’t occur until Saturday 1:45pm meaning that Good Friday game of Roos vs Dogs at 4:20pm is also a partial lockout game. Thats two opportunities for a VC loophole for the price of 1! However the catch is we wont know the Sunday extended bench selections before those 2 games. Make sure you look at important times to remember below, as there is more than usual to digest.
Also to make matters worse, we have a Monday game with Hawks vs Cats where we won’t even know full extended bench selections before lockout.
Early news is the Brett Eddy (Fwd $179,000) will be dropped with Pittard coming back. Yet another Swans rookie may debut with Lewis Melican (Def $150,000) being upgraded from rookie list. Matthew Lobbe (Ruck $441,000) ruled out as Ryders replacement with a hamstring injury, but don’t get excited about potential ruck rookies being named as the ruck duties will be shared by Trengrove, Dixon and Westhoff.

Well hasn’t Jake Lloyd (Def/Mid $543,000) more than proven himself the premium defender to have. 87, 113 and 108 so far showing he is off to a flier. With a few under performing mid and premium defenders this year, Lloyd is a popular target to trade in this week.

There is a lot of pressure on Jake Spencer (Ruck $281,000) this week as an immediate replacement for Gawn and an initiation of fire against Sandilands this week. His price is awkward, but he is the cheapest ruck choice we have, and Dees will need him to be their main ruck.

A few Coaches took a punt on Jasper Pittard (Def $496,000) last year with hi easy possessions across back. He went Ok with an average of 83 and started well, but petered off with a few poor scores late in the season. See how his injury return goes and what his role is, but consider as a possible POD upgrade.

Well, if you started midprice option David Swallow (Mid $404,000) over JOM, week 1 you might have been spewing but now you’d be laughing. How good did he look last week with 120! If you play RDT I’d argue he is must have. Although with a BE of 15 in Fantasy there is no reason to not jump on the gun.

Shags’ Watchlist
For some unknown reason Rory Sloane (Mid $643,000) slips under peoples radars, possibly due to Victoriacentrism in the AFL. At only 5.16% ownership hes a POD, and with 139 last week and 152 the week before hes smashing it. perhaps his first week of 68 was a bit off putting. But that also means he could well be underpriced right now. Jump on if hes one you think will be top 10 mid by the end of the year.

Shags’ Watchlist
It didn’t take long (get it) for rookies to dry up. Ben Long (Fwd/Def $202,000) could be one to help save our non playing rookie woes this week. On the pricey side for a rookie, but his Fwd/Def status is very handy. He is draft pick number 25 for the saints after a breakout 2016 season so he is rated quite highly.

Stefan Martin (Ruck $582,000) has gotten off to a great start this year and is looking like he is back to his 2015 form where he averaged 112 for the year. He’d be an obvious sideways for those who have Gawn. Jump on whilst he is still sub $600k.

Shags’ Watchlist
Brandan Parfitt (Mid/Fwd $244,000) played so well last week he got himself a rising star nomination. His first two games were nothing special with 39 and 56, but it has kept his price reasonable, and with rookies drying up already he is one you could potentially chase this week. If you think hes just warming up and can keep scoring well, with a BE of -2 this is the week to get him. He is named on the field but with extended bench selections after lockout there is always a chance he wont be named. I’d think he is safe with a clear role and outstanding performance last week.
