6:25 pm Thursday 31/03/2017

Teamsheets are IN! AS confirmed below Dusty is named. I wouldn’t have believed it watching his injury a couple of weeks ago but Nick Riewoldt (Fwd $659,000) is named to play. Todd Goldstein (Ruck $576,000) is also back, but still playing with Preuss. Dees midfielder Bernie Vince (Def/Mid $557,000) is also back from report, to replace Lewis, on report. There are no big surprises with the outs, and most of the new rookies we already knew about. UPDATE: It is confirmed Hugh McCluggage (Mid/Fwd $246,000) and Jarrod Berry (Def/Mid $218,000) will debut for the lions.

6:00 pm Thursday 31/03/2017

Third round teams to be announced from ~6:15pm tonight. No partial lockout, meaning no VC loophole, and thankfully that means no 1 hour rushing around before an early Thursday game.
Lots of talk about whether Dustin Martin (Mid $655,000) will get a game, and all indications look like he will play with Harwick giving him the all clear. New debut possible of Dustys Helmet (Mid $25.50 from kmart) which surely should score a few AF points. Freo are looking to inject some youth with debuts from Harley Balic (Fwd/Mid $150,000) and Griffin Logue (Def $236,000) pretty much all but confirmed. Balic looks a very popular pick up with great stats in the WAFL.
George Horlin-Smith (Mid $262,000) is out for at least one week, with talk of cats bringing in a debut as his replacement, with James Parsons (Fwd $150,000) being a likely candidate.
Timothy Smith (Fwd $150,000) is confirmed to be blooded against the cats.

Shags’ Watchlist

Staying on my watchlist, being likely the best def rookie trade in option this week is Nic Newman (Def $175,000). Solid 77 last week and a BE of -9, if you haven’t got him yet this is the week to grab him.

MILESTONES: Phil Davis – Playing 100th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Only rookie debut in this game Sam Durdin (Fwd $150,000) is a bit of a stab in the dark rookie. I’m not confident with any north rookies this year after that first round, but hey some might want to take a punt. He was picked up as pick 16 for North so they clearly rate his talent.

Richmond v West Coast Eagles, MCG (2.10pm)

B Alex Rance, David Astbury, Dylan Grimes

Shags’ Watchlist

Well done Andrew Gaff (Mid $610,000) owners. He has gotten off to a blinder and earnt a cool $46k already. If you have a mid premium injury like Steven, Gaff is one of those players you could easily switch to.

EMG Cameron Pedersen, Tomas Bugg, Jake Spencer
Bernie Vince, Timothy Smith, Dean Kent
Angus Brayshaw (Omitted), Jesse Hogan (Suspension), Jordan Lewis (Suspension)
Timothy Smith

Shags’ Watchlist

Yes, there are two new rookie debuts in this game, but Im breaking with tradition by going with Clayton Oliver (Mid $488,000) with a BE of 14 he is a virtual cashcow that scores huge, and with 122 and 135 has absolutely got off to a blinder. Kid reminds me of Ollie Wines, and the dees just love having him in the guts, teammates even putting him down as a darkhorse for the brownlow.

Port Adelaide v Adelaide, Adelaide Oval (7.40pm)

B Darcy Byrne-Jones, Tom Clurey, Dan Houston
HB Matthew Broadbent, Tom Jonas, Hamish Hartlett
C Brad Ebert, Ollie Wines, Jared Polec

I/C Jake Lever, Jake Kelly, David Mackay, Wayne Milera
EMG Myles Poholke, Troy Menzel, Reilly O’Brien
Jake Lever
Josh Jenkins (Injured)
MILESTONES: Matt Crouch – Playing 50th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Im genuinely surprised at Ollie Wines (Mid $616,000) ownership of only 1.61%. Hes gotten off to a solid start with 115 and 110, and honestly cant see why he cant keep scoring like that if not better. If you are looking for a POD I reckon he’s your man. Many are going for his younger twin brother Clayton Oliver, they are related right?

Fremantle v Western Bulldogs, Subiaco Oval (7.40pm)

B Ethan Hughes, Joel Hamling, Lee Spurr
HB Garrick Ibbotson, Michael Johnson, Tommy Sheridan

FOL Tom Boyd, Marcus Bontempelli, Tom Liberatore
I/C Zaine Cordy, Tom Campbell, Shane Biggs, Caleb Daniel
EMG Clay Smith, Josh Dunkley, Bailey Williams
Toby McLean
Stewart Crameri (Hip)

Shags’ Watchlist

THis one should come as no surprise. Harley Balic (Mid/Fwd $150,000) has already been much talked about as a rookie to get, and many will grab him this week. Jeppa rates him very highly.

Sunday April 9

St Kilda v Brisbane Lions, Etihad Stadium (1.10pm)

B Jarryn Geary, Nathan J. Brown, Sam Gilbert
HB Jack Newnes, Jake Carlisle, Dylan Roberton
C Shane Savage, Jack Steele, Leigh Montagna

I/C Blake Acres, Jack Billings, Jimmy Webster, Paddy McCartin
EMG Billy Longer, Ben Long, Jack Sinclair
Nick Riewoldt
Jack Steven (Punctured Lung)

B Nick Robertson, Jack Frost, Darcy Gardiner
HB Sam Mayes, Harris Andrews, Tom Cutler
C Dayne Zorko, Jarrod Berry, Hugh McCluggage
HF Lewis Taylor, Eric Hipwood, Daniel Rich
F Mitch Robinson, Josh Schache, Daniel McStay
FOL Stefan Martin, Dayne Beams, Tom Rockliff
I/C Tom Bell, Rohan Bewick, Ryan Lester, Jake Barrett
EMG Claye Beams, Liam Dawson, Michael Close
Jarrod Berry, Hugh McCluggage, Josh Schache
Michael Close (Omitted), Ryan Bastinac (Omitted), Ryan Harwood (Omitted)
Jarrod Berry, Hugh McCluggage

Shags’ Watchlist

Hugh McCluggage (Mid $246,000) was all the rage in the preseason, as much for his cool surname as his scoring potential. Pick number 3, and hence his hefty rookie price tag, hes back from injury and straight in the team. Some might be put off by his low scores over the JLT (limited TOG) and his price tag. But the kids a gun so some might take a punt. If he does score well this week he is almost instantly too expensive to get in.

Carlton v Essendon, MCG (3.20pm)

B Sam Docherty, Caleb Marchbank, Simon White
HB Kade Simpson, Sam Rowe, Lachie Plowman
C Sam Kerridge, Patrick Cripps, Ed Curnow
HF Dale Thomas, Jacob Weitering, Jack Silvagni
F Matthew Wright, Levi Casboult, Sam Petrevski-Seton
FOL Matthew Kreuzer, Bryce Gibbs, Marc Murphy
I/C Charlie Curnow, Harrison Macreadie, Jarrod Pickett, Tom Williamson
EMG Billie Smedts, Harry McKay, Rhys Palmer
Sam Kerridge, Tom Williamson
Dennis Armfield (Omitted), Billie Smedts (Omitted)
Tom Williamson

B Mark Baguley, Michael Hurley, Brent Stanton
HB Brendon Goddard, Patrick Ambrose, James Kelly
C Travis Colyer, Dyson Heppell, Zach Merrett
HF Mitch Brown, Cale Hooker, David Zaharakis
F Kyle Langford, Joe Daniher, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti
FOL Matthew Leuenberger, Jobe Watson, Heath Hocking
I/C Andrew McGrath, Darcy Parish, Martin Gleeson, Orazio Fantasia
EMG James Stewart, Shaun McKernan, Matt Dea
Mitch Brown, Matthew Leuenberger, Heath Hocking
Michael Hartley (Omitted), Ben Howlett (Hamstring), Shaun McKernan (Omitted)
MILESTONES: David Zaharakis – Playing 150th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Lots were expecting Harry McKay to get a game, but we have Tom Williamson (Def $150,000) instead. I don’t think that’s a bad thing since we dont have any other cheap def rookies. He is a key defender and had 35 in his one hit out in the JLT. Only grab him if you are worried about rookie holes in the backline, and hoping he holds his spot. I’d watch for 1 week personally to see if can get a couple of consecutive games and potential to be a slowburn cashcow.

Gold Coast Suns v Hawthorn, Metricon Stadium (4.40pm)

B Jarrod Harbrow, Steven May, Jack Bowes
HB Kade Kolodjashnij, Rory Thompson, Adam Saad
C David Swallow, Gary Ablett, Matt Rosa
HF Jarryd Lyons, Tom J. Lynch, Brandon Matera
F Touk Miller, Peter Wright, Jack Martin
FOL Jarrod Witts, Michael Barlow, Aaron Hall
I/C Alex Sexton, Brayden Fiorini, Sean Lemmens, Jesse Joyce
EMG Jarrad Grant, Jesse Lonergan, Jack Leslie
Jarrod Harbrow, Brandon Matera, Brayden Fiorini
Jack Leslie (Omitted), Callum Ah Chee (Omitted), Ben Ainsworth (Quad)

B Ben Stratton, James Frawley, Shaun Burgoyne
HB Luke Hodge, Ryan Burton, Josh Gibson
C Liam Shiels, Luke Breust, Isaac Smith
HF Cyril Rioli, Jack Gunston, Jaeger O’Meara
F Ty Vickery, Jarryd Roughead, Paul Puopolo
FOL Ben McEvoy, Will Langford, Tom Mitchell
I/C Ricky Henderson, Teia Miles, Brendan Whitecross, Kaiden Brand
EMG Billy Hartung, James Sicily, Kade Stewart
Brendan Whitecross, Kaiden Brand
Grant Birchall (Jaw), Kade Stewart (Omitted)
MILESTONES: Teia Miles – Played 1st game

Shags’ Watchlist

Well those who started him would be bloody happy, and those who doubted that he would be as good at the hawks have looked to be proven wrong. Tom Mitchell (Mid $659,000) has started amazingly with 128 and 125, and many think he could go huge against the suns this week. If he does, he could become an Uber premium ($700k +) and possible be nigh on unreachable.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. Twitter@Shagbaggers ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.

    Toranto or balic on field?

Geez. thats a tough one. Everyone seems to think Taranto could go bang. but how many chances does he get?

People are rating Balic high because he has a high ceiling and scores well in the WAFL, but who knows how he will go on the big stage?

I’d probably back in Taranto one last time.

Billings to WHE and Mills to LLoyd

Mountford to Balic and Roughead/Jaeger/Billings to WHE

I think Billings will be good against the Lions with more midfield potential. I havent got any other rookies to fix up so the second trade is hard to find in option 2.

Gotta be said somewhere even though it has little to do with DT other than some rookies – loving that the Blues already have Williamson and Macreadie, two of the three picks traded away for a second rd 2018 pick, playing. Smedts is out but hopefully Mac keeps playing like he has and Willo becomes a long term player.
Given they were picks 48 and 61 I reckon they might be the two lowest picks from 2016 playing, might be wrong. Either way, nice drafting Blues

Watch out with the partial lock outs. First time this has happened to me. Moved the E on to a Syd bench player last night. Made trades this morning of players yet to play. Went to change trades but couldn’t because it had involved moving players between positions using DPP. I can’t reverse I need to roll back but can’t because my E was put on the Syd player. Now stuck with my trades
