Voting is now open for the DT TALK Golden Stubby for Round 7. This coveted prize will be awarded to the player who excelled on the weekend, taking into account price, form, opponent and whatever else tickles your fancy!
This weeks nominations (collected by @WarnieDT through Twitter) are:
- Jonathon Giles (107). With the Giants getting their first win, some of our ‘kids’ had to step up. While he isn’t exactly a kid, Giles has been a warrior for our teams week in, week out and making the 1/3 ruck strategy work for us with other rucks dropping like flies. Also I should note that Giles only had 7 at qtr time!
- Kyal Horsley (95). It’s not often we find a ‘must have’ rookie to jump on like the Horse. We’ve been tricked before with guys like Beau Muston, but he showed he is the real deal with another mammoth effort and he looks set to have the biggest price jump ever in DT!
- Matthew Boyd (162). Boydy was the top scorer of the round and stepped up to help the Dogs defeat the Roos. Quite a few coaches had faith in him as captain and threw his name out there on Twitter despite Calvin not naming him in his top 5.
- Dane Swan (143). Our favourite fantasy pig did it again… racking up a nice captains score at the Gabba. He is a machine as we all know and despite copping some attention from Raines after a 52 point first quarter, he put a very poor second term behind him and smashed all comers! It was just a bit sweeter for us actually being there to witness him act like a beast!
- Tory Dickson (105). A bit of a wildcard selection here for the poll with Dicko finally playing his third game. He kicked 4 goals and while he is sitting as the 9th player in a lot of forward lines, those who didn’t trade him will be pumped with his increased job security off the back of that game!
