  • I think the pre-JLT vanilla/hype team looks more like this –

    Fwd: J.Billings, I.Heeney, M.Robinson, A.Christensen, C.Rayner, D.Venables (L.Keeffe, W.Rioli)

How many vanilla flavours do you have?
I currently have 11 of these players in my team.

*Note that I haven’t included Naitanui, Freeman, Bennell, Higgins, or Lobb, even though their ownership is high, because they are looking unlikely R1 starters at this stage.

  • Thoughts on my team? Going a bit different

    DEF: Laird – Roberton – Ellis – Coffield – Hibberd – O’Shea (Mirra – Murray)

    MID: Titch – Zerrett – Treloar – Jelwood – Coniglio – Miller – Brayshaw – Ahern (Wigg – Smith)

RUCK: Gawn – Goldy (Cameron – English)

FWD: Heeney – McClean – Petracca – Christiensen – Higgins – Fritsch (Rioli – Venabeles)

Also have 14k left in the bank, Thanks!

    • I commented yesterday that for Petracca to improve his average he would have to display he has improved his endurance to have regular runs in the mids.
The rest of your team is well balanced, although I’m not fan of Selwood, his burnt me the last few years.

    • I forgot about Roberton existing, good POD!

  • Nic Nat injury is screwing me over… Is he a definite out for round 1 considering he’s not playing the first week of Jlt?! Where else can I find upside in the rucks and bang for buck to play alongside Max Gawn? Thanks.

  • trying to make quick cash, thoughts please….

Backs. Laird, Lloyd, Brayshaw, McGrath, Coffield, Murray, Doedee, Keefe.

Mids. Mitchell, Kelly, Beams, Heeney, O’Meara, Setterfield, Dow, Davies-Uni
    Brayshaw, Ahern.

    Rucks. Ryder, Gawn, Cameron, Olango.

Fwds. Billings, Lynch (Crows), Sicily, Stringer, Christenson, Stephensen, Ryan,

$27,000 left over but if all goes good can make alot of money quickly..

    • Risky having 2 mid-price in defence. If they both fail there may not be 2 rooks available to downgrade to. I also think your lacking 1 mid who has a high ceiling imo.
      Like your other choices.

      • OK, lost Ryder, Mcgrath and Christansen, moved Sicily to defence moved Ahern to fwd brought in Kelly, Sandy and Rocky….looks alot more stable…

    • I may steal this for my yearly midprice mayhem team 2 haha. I love Adelynch like a son (Grabbed him in desperation like 2 weeks before the tenner) but I don’t see him as an incredible cash cow.

  • McGrath, Brayshaw or Petracca? I think theres a strong argument for each of them, but leaning toward Tracca in hope of more mid time than McGrath

    • Sorry Jaxon. I replied to you but managed to put it in ‘simple arithmetic’s’ reply box above here. My mistake.
My fault for being cheeky and not paying attention to where stuff was going.

      • LOL. Brayshaw should be ok if he keeps his helmet (not knocking it, just saying). If he plays with it on I’ll probably start him, if he doesn’t there’s no way. That’s my 5 cents worth.

    • McGrath is the one I have in, Brayshaw’s off switch is too delicate. I’m waiting to see Petracca in action to see his role, I think he has the most potential of all options. Mostly out of mine because I need a def more than a fwd and I don’t like him as much as Robinson.

  • Who’s more likely to cop the tag out of Beams and Zorko? Asking for draft, could be in a position to be picking Rocky or Zorko first and just wondering what would be the better option. Cheers

    • Beams for sure, he has been tagged in other years, although I don’t think it will happen too many times as oppositions sides generally focus on an all out attack against the Lions.

    • I’d take Zorks just due to Beamer’s injury history in the draft format.

      • what about zorko vs. rocky

        • Commented on your other post haha.

“Rocky? Just. I think Zorks may actually average more/have bigger weeks but he’s gained enough attention to cop the tag from the start of year now, giving me feelings of Shaw last year (or the year before, can’t remember), average was still high but the end of year drop was noticable and in that case, it carried over. Rocky feels safer even with the role uncertainty, don’t think we’ll be seeing 180s out of him though.”

    • I think Zorko would be, a few games last year when he got tagged he struggled a little bit. He would be easier to slow down so coaches may opt to tag him first, but then again this is only my opinion and i could be wrong

  • Pre JLT team, main issues are No JOM (A strategy I had last year until right before r1, which took me from genius to sucker like everyone else, I’ve got more “vibe” for him this year) and only 2k spare so rookies are going to likely force me to drop McGrath and I don’t see 6 decently safe r1 to r5 def rook picks yet, JLT guide us.

Def: Witho, Crisp, McGrath, Coffield, Shithibbo, Doedee (Shitgoddard, Smith)
Mid: Titch, Kelly, Rocky, Crouch Squared, Blakely, LDU, Kelly (Brayshaw, Barry)
    Ruck: Kruezer, Gawn (Cameron, Frampton)
Fwd: Heeney, Billings, Robbo, Galluci, Venables, Ahern (Keefe, Rioli)

    • No way coffeild will start round one. He won’t be blooded till round 6-8

      • 6 to 8 seems excessive given the buzz about him, and the fact Saints underperformed last year makes me feel they’ll want to send a message to those who failed. They have Brown, Roberton, Carlisle and Geary as back six locks, I can see the last 2-3 being up for grabs with Savage only playing half the games anyway and Webster just being, negligible. However given he’s most most expensive def rook I’m happy for him to miss for cheaper options given my cash starved problem.

  • Despite the haircut is Stringer worth selecting at just 403k and more mid time?

  • So who would you say is a better value pick for draft out of rocky and zorko?

    • Rocky? Just. I think Zorks may actually average more/have bigger weeks but he’s gained enough attention to cop the tag from the start of year now, giving me feelings of Shaw last year (or the year before, can’t remember), average was still high but the end of year drop was noticable and in that case, it carried over. Rocky feels safer even with the role uncertainty, don’t think we’ll be seeing 180s out of him though.

  • Any help would be great, only my 3rd year

Laird, yeo, shaw, sicily, doedee, murray (cummins, mirra)

Danger, treloar, sloane, beams, coniglio, JOM, LDU, kelly (barry, wigg)

    Kreuzer, gawn (cameron, english)

Billings, heeney, christensen, rayner, setterfield, ahern (rioli, venables)

    • Never gonna badmouth going unique and structure looks solid so I liked it, but you’ve got some serious yo-yos in there with Sloane, Yeo, Shaw and Sicily, either a big pay off or two months of early season headache.

    • Good solid side considering it’s only your 3rd year. But a couple of concerns are,
1.Sloane can’t handle a tag. I know any premo mid can be tagged, whatever, some get tagged more and are rendered to a point of being useless. Sloane does fit in that category.
      2. Rayner is obviously is a young gun but has a endurance weakness that will stop him playing in the mids and his TOG could be low. That said it is all theory until after the JLT series is completed.

      • Would you suggest going for matt crouch instead or will he be more effected with the introduction of gibbs?

        • Gibbs is a better user, I think they’ll still like having Matt shovel it out.

        • It’s difficult to answer that, there’s been a few varying theories floating around about it to the extent of Gibbs may play in defence.
I’m not sure how much cash you have spare to pick say Dusty, Kelly etc. If your short on cash and have real concerns about Crouch then Pendles for an example would be a good option. Hope that helps yuu a bit.

  • Anyone jumped off Rocky due to no JLT? If so, who to?

    • Hadn’t seen, it is concerning. Not jumping off yet but I’m considering Parker for the 100k rookie spare change.

    • I personally don’t like picking players who have an interrupted pre season/no pre season games, so I’m thinking, haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but thinking to change him to a Cogs and use the money to get a stronger D4

  • Kelly, JOM, Stephenson
    Coniglio, Dow, Robinson/Devon?

  • Devon Smith and Lobb
    Heeney and Christensen

  • How much do people trust / take into consideration players projected scores. For example Cripps projected score 88, JOM projected score 92.

  • McDonald + 46K or Lloyd?

  • Just playing around with a cashcow structure
    Backline: R.Laird – J.Crisp – L.McDonald – J.Sicily – N.Coffield – T.Doedee
    Bench: I.Cumming – D.Mirra
    Midfield: T.Mitchell – T.Adams – J.Kelly – M.Crouch – A.Brayshaw (Freo) – P.Dow – LDU – T.Kelly
    Bench: A.Cerra – H.Brayshaw
    Ruckman: S.jacobs – M.Gawn
    Bench: W.Frampton – D.Cameron
    Forward: I.Heeney – K.Lambert – D.Smith – A.Christensen – W.Setterfield – J.Stephenson
    Bench: W.Rioli – D.Venables
    9K leftover???

  • Apparently Rocky out until rnd 1. Knee soreness. Anyone concerned/ jumping off?

  • DEF: L. McDonald, J. Sicily, A. Brayshaw, C. O’Shea, S. Murray, T.Doedee (L. Keeffe, D.Mirra)

    MID: P. Dangerfield, G. Ablett (c), M. Duncan, A. Treloar, S. Pendlebury, T. Adams, T. Kelly, L. Davies-Uniacke (N. Freeman, J.Smith)

    RUCK: M. Gawn, M. Kreuzer (D. Cameron, W. Frampton)

    FWD: J. Billings, T. Lynch(ADL), A. Christensen, C. Rayner, J. Higgins, P. Ahern (D. Venables, W. Rioli)

118k in the bank, my second year, any suggestions appreciated

    • Too many MID cats. Ablett? Too old …. and danger will spend time in FWD… Duncan has reached his peak…. Kelly I like ;)

      • Would have to disagree! Love this set up, guaranteed 630+ every week from those 6, ablett is getting on but still is an absolute gun and will be around 110 in my opinion

  • Hey guys what do you think of my team
Think I’ll be happy taking this through to rd 1

    Crisp,Hanley,Sicily,Brayshaw,coffield,Murray (Doedee,Cummings)

    Nank,Gawn (Cameron,mcinerney)

    Heeney,robo,Christensen,ah Chee,setterfield,Stephenson (Clarke,Venables)

    Thoughts please

  • What does everyone see Cripps averaging? Carlton have a pretty nice draw early

  • What you think

DEF- Houli, Crisp, McGrath, Brayshaw, Doedee, Cumming (keeffe mirra)

MID- Zerret, M. Crouch, Rockliff, Coniglio, Dunstan, Prestia, O meara, LDU ( Brayshaw,Freeman

    RUC- Kreuzer,Gawn (cameron Flynn

FWD- Billings, Smith, Sicily, Christiansen, Fritsch, Venables (rioli ahern

  • Posted in the other My Team so sorry for the repost.

Don’t think my team has actually changed since last post, but i’m semi happy with the team.

    $88K In the piggy.

Def; Laird, McDonald, Sicily, Brayshaw, Coffield, Doedee. (Murray, Cumming).

Mid; Titch, Treloar, Crouch, Beams, Rocky, JOM, Brayshaw, LDU. (Kelly, Worpel).

    Ruck; Gawn, Sandi (Cameron, Frampton)

Fwd: Billings, Heeney, Christensen, Setterfield, Stephensen,Fritsch. (Venables, Ahern)

First issue; Christnsen at F3, it’s too weak. If Billings/Heeney don’t come around well enough come R1, i’ll downgrade to value picks upgrade whoever isn’t named R1/least job security to someone like an Ah Chee if role permits.
Second issue: Sandi is a massive risk, but I can currently upgrade to Nank/Goldy no worries with the cash.
Third: Does Coff play? If he doesn’t does O’Brien play? If he doesn’t does O’Shea? Almost looking at a restructure cause i’m not playing 2 170k rooks in def.
Fourth issue: I feel my mids are too vanilla and “underpriced”, compared to “Uber pigs”

Few other things that I didn’t include last time, Rocky being unlikely to play a JLT game is worrying, and i’m getter ever more worried about Beams once again. Do I just go for safety in a Kelly for one and maybe beef up Coff to someone more likely to play? The same for JOM? Free up some cash by going to Dow or someone else, making it a 5-0-3 structure?

    Thoughts appreciated.

    • Dont need a 5,3 midfeild if ya got all those cash cows up forward

    • Team looks solid. Gone weaker in the fwd because points are in the mid. rookies obviously subject to round 1 so too early to worry about that. Nothing wrong with vanilla mids popular for a reason because they are good picks if they all pump out their predicted values you’d be silly not to go with the underpriced guys.

  • Laird, yeo, mc donald, mc Garth, o’shea, j smith

Titch, merrett, rocky, blakely, m Kennedy, o mera, ldu, holman

    Gawn, nat

Heeny, gray, Robinson, sicily, lobb, ahern

    • Anyone?

    • Pretty solid team.
Only issues are J. Smith, nic nat and Lobb have had modified preseasons so that is too many players to take a gamble on. IMO not sure Gray will increase his average by too much. Some interesting picks, eg Matt Kennedy.
I also suggest increasing the number of forward rookies on the field to 2-3 (maybe downgrade Gray for extra cash elsewhere?)

      • Oh and Heeney is on a modified preseason as well (but you can almost pretend he isn’t on one as he should be fine)

    • Don’t like nitpicking individual player choices based on preference, so Yeo and Gray are things I won’t judge, but your mids are extremely shallow given you’ll be viewing Blakely as a def from r6 onwards hopefully, I have high hopes for Kennedy and JOM but you’re putting a lot of faith in them not just being good value, but genuine competitive midfielders. The Nat/Lobb pairing seems too risky to justify taking up that much forward-line cash at this stage, not even considering Nat may not even be a safe playing option for the 5 weeks to make it worthwhile.

  • Tear it to shreds.

Laird Crisp McDonald McGrath Brayshaw Coffield (Doedee, Murray)
Titch Danger Dusty Coniglio Blakely Brayshaw LDU Kelly (Ahern, Barry)
    Jacobs Gawn (McInerney, Cameron)
Heeney Robinson Christensen Gallucci Venables Poholke (Rioli, Giles-Langdon)

    $11k left

I’m open to suggestions and others’ thoughts. Content that my premos in Laird, Dusty, Danger, Titch, Heeney and Jacobs are safe and reliable, as well as Brayshaw, McGrath, Crisp, McDonald, Coniglio, Blakely and Robinson who I think are good bets to become premium guys. And Gawn should improve too. I’ve gone with the more expensive rookies too which I think will serve me well.
It’s the forward line which is the only line I’ve changed much for about 3 weeks.

    • very deep in defence which makes your fwd line week, also feel that mid could do with another uber 110+ guy unless you feel cogs/blakely will be around the mark

    • Going with the other Matt, on the defs. If you’ve got Blakely the hope is that he’ll end up with Def status, including him that means you have SIX starting high or mid priced defs which is insanely unbalanced, and only a 4 man midield. Admittedly the mid rooks seem pretty good, but scrapping one of those defs would help a LOT.

  • POD Improvers / Guns ?

    Darcy Lang
    Jason Johanisen
    Ah chee

  • Really unsure on what to play with
3-0-3 in def with rookies being Coff, O’Brien and Mirra with mids being 5-1-2 cogs as premo
or 3-1-2 with getting bray/mcgrath/sic and 4-1-3 cogs to a brayshaw for example

  • How does this team sound?

DEF: Laird, McDonald, Sicily, McGrath, O’Shea, Doedee, (Cumming, Murray)
MID: Titch, Beams, Rocky, Coniglio, Blakely, JOM, LDU, H Brayshaw, (Barry, Ahern)
    RUCK: Gawn, Sandi, (Frampton, Cameron)
FWD: McLean, Walters, Robinson, Petracca, Christensen, Setterfield, (Rioli, Keeffe)

    Happy with my backs.

Mid I feel is missing one more uber, and don’t know whether Hamish Brayshaw will get a game.

Sandi is risky, but could be good if body stays together. Another couple of options I’ve been looking at are McKernan and Lycett?

Maybe a bit too stacked in the forward line. Thinking of going Petracca to Stephenson just to do fixing up with the extra $250k.

  • Simpson, lloyd or yeo?

    • I would love to go Lloyd but not sure if he gets the “role” with McVeigh.

Last year Simmo only scored well WITH Doc in the team, and with Doc scoring well too, unsure how he is affected with Doc out.

Yeo had hip complaints, and dependent upon role he could be good or average.
I’m staying away from all 3 and would look to upgrade elsewhere, and look at Crisp, McDonald types. Laird is a lock and load for everyone.

  • Thoughts?
    9k remaining
Laird, Simpson, crisp (n. Brown )
    Brayshaw, doedee, Murray (mirra)

    Titch, Kelly, Pendles, rocky (ahern)
    Hall, Jom, t. Kelly, P. Dow(wigg)

    Gawn, D. Simpson (D. Cameron, L. Pierce)

    Billings, heeney, petracca  (W. Rioli)
    Christensen , rayner, Venables (keefe)

    • I hope Brown is just a place holder until r1 because is his 20pts every week even worth it? No. Other than that, defence looks ok pending rookies playing.
Hall and Pendles are nice pods. Wigg is looking like a mid season downgrade at this stage because he is unlikely for r1.
Dawson Simpson… No. Even if Lobb doesn’t play r1 and Simpson rucks, his JS is low and he will not make enough money to make upgrading him easy.
A couple people pick Petracca and now he’s increasingly everywhere. I don’t think it’s his year yet, but you may think so, so i understand the selection.

  • McGrath named in the back pocket for the JLT this weekend… should i be worried?

  • What are your thoughts?

DEF : Laird, Crisp, Sicily, Brayshaw (Melb), O’Shea, Doedee (Murray, Cumming)
MID : Titch, M.Crouch, Beams, Rocky, Cogs, JOM, LDU, Kelly (Brayshaw (WCE), Worpel)
RUC : Ryder, Gawn (Cameron, Frampton)
FWD : Heeney, McLean, Robbo, Christensen, Setterfield, Ahern (Rioli, Venables)

Pretty happy with the squad at the moment with 16k in the bank

    • Genuinely can’t pick a fault with it. There’s a couple of players I just don’t like, but structurally and conceptually, I’m kinda jealous.

  • Help please.
    Gibbs, Stringer
    Hewett, Daulhaus.

  • What you think

DEF- Houli, Crisp, McGrath, Brayshaw, Doedee, Cumming (keeffe murray

MID- Zerret, M. Crouch, Rockliff, Coniglio, Dunstan, Prestia, O meara, LDU ( Brayshaw,Freeman

    RUC- Kreuzer,Gawn (cameron Flynn

FWD- Billings, Smith, Sicily, Christiansen, Fritsch, Venables (rioli ahern

  • Traditional League created : MICKY DEE LEAGUE : Invite Code = SMM6ZN56

  • Barlow or Billings?

  • Thoughts on this team I crafted,
Def- laird, crisp, Sicily, McGrath, Mitch Hibberd, doedee ( cumming, Murray)
Mid- titch, zerret, adams, cogs, blakely, JOM, LDU, Kelly ( h brayshaw, ahern)
Ruck- sauce, Gawn ( Cameron Flynn)
Forward- McLean, Robinson, petracca, Christensen, setterfield, venables ( Rioli, guelfi)
