Lachie Ash (DEF, $794,000) 🤔
SCORE: 125 (85% TOG)
PRICED AT: 77
Can we do it? That 125 will see Ash increase $73k according to DFS Australia’s pricing projector. An 85 the next week would see a further $49k added. There’s obviously the risk of planning a trade … or holding through a bye. Interesting discussion point!
Josh Kelly (MID, $977,000) 🤔
SCORE: 118 (82% TOG)
PRICED AT: 95
There’s a lot of trust issues here. Kelly has the second most CBAs for the Giantsand racked up his highest score since round seven last year (he only had one ton in between that). Cash gen, yadayada… but we can’t do it withe Green returning, etc.
Sam Taylor (DEF, $528,000) 🤔
SCORE: 118 (100% TOG)
PRICED AT: 52
No … we can’t! Surely? Another player that will make bulk coin early (over $100k this week accoring to DFS). 13 marks was huge. Obviously we won’t see that regularly, but geez. That was huge.
Finn Callaghan (MID, $789,000) 🤔
SCORE: 110 (84% TOG)
PRICED AT: 77
Roy talked him up around a 100 average if he had the CBAs. He had 88% of them today and he knocked out 110 (33 disposals, 2 goals). The big lad looked epic. You could possibly do it – especially for the cash generation; this will be a chat tomorrow on the podcast. How many of these guys can you have?
Lachie Whitfield (DEF, $1,146,000) ❌
SCORE: 99 (75% TOG)
PRICED AT: 112
Not enough points to force our hand with the early bye. Simple as that. We look forward to Whit being an upgrade target.
Conor Stone (FWD, $230,000) 🐮
SCORE: 50 (77% TOG)
PRICED AT: 22
Is 50 enough? There are a few FWDs on the radar, but if we want that basement player ther to go with Davidson, Stone is probably the one. His role is good. He was used a bit, but he only had 11 disposals. The four marks were promising. Still an option for our FWD bench.
James Leake (DEF, $230,000) 🐮
SCORE: 42 (54% TOG)
PRICED AT: 22
This isn’t really what we wanted to see. Not even the scoring … it was the TOG. Sub written all over him in the future. Role wan’t what he thought it would be, although he still had 28% of the CBAs (extrapolate that… haha).
Kieren Briggs (RUCK, $938,000) 🤕
SCORE: 8 (12% TOG)
PRICED AT: 91
Went down in a contest with Taylor. Neck issue (apparently not concussed). Keeffe was rucking for the most part. Could this open the door for 20yo Nicholas Madden as a bench ruck at $230k? He averaged 95.5 from his 10 games in the VFL last season. A watch on Briggs’ fitness.
Darcy Cameron (RUCK, 987,000) 🤔
SCORE: 136 (79% TOG)
PRICED AT: 96
Obviously benefited from Briggs going down but WOW the cash generation will be sweet. Great for your Draft team if he can continue to rack up, but you’d be getting pretty if you’re looking at trading in the ruck. It could work, but not for me.
Harry Perryman (DEF, $759,000) 🔒
SCORE: 90 (83% TOG)
PRICED AT: 74
Role was fantastic with 52% CBAs (looked more to the eye). Started magmnificently with 61 at HT. His last quarter of 6 was a concern as his TOG dropped. Nothing to worry about. We just lock him in. Everyone else will be on, so no dramas on ownership.
Josh Daicos (MID, $973,000) 🔀
SCORE: 88 (87% TOG)
PRICED AT: 95
We’re not picking him … but know that he’ll get DPP.
Nick Daicos (MID, $1,074,000) 👀
SCORE: 60 (76% TOG)
PRICED AT: 105
Sicko time. We’re waiting for his price to dip. Chance to be under $900k at the bye.
Reef McInnes (FWD, $324,000) 🐮
SCORE: 49 (82% TOG)
PRICED AT: 32
Keep him on the radar as an option. Will be matching up on talls like today which may mean that points won’t come easy. If we don’t have enough FWD options, put him in the mix, but it is unlikely we need him.

Callaghan v Day Warnie?
Other matter – Saturday broadcasts on TV – zilch up here in Darwin now 😠😠. Classic case of the AFL selling their sole for more $. I lodged a complaint with em (no reply) – urge others to follow if you care because it will keep going this way until all games are behind a paywall!
Has to be day he is a lock in podcast and roys article
Day > Callaghan simply because the first few rounds in the real-season should be used for fix-up trades. This ensures you have the best players to set up your season.
By the time we get to round 4 for Day’s bye, our teams should be fairly well set.
I agree mate, I thought it was only Vic and Tas not getting Saturday games.
All these new talk shows 7’s putting on almost 1 a night, how much footy can u talk b4 your saying the same thing over and over. We’d rather watch footy than talk about it.
Not everyone can afford pay tv, Saturday nights r gonna suck now.
Sam Taylor a quick cash grab for me, risky but prepared to offload early.
