Welcome back legends. It was a funny old round with some big boys hitting huge numbers and other premiums flopping. We have heaps of options this week so getting the VC and CAPT in the right combination is very important.

CALVIN’S TOP-5 CAPTAINS

No. 1 – Marshall v MELB
@ the MCG, SUN 3:20pm

The man is #1 on form averaging 151 in his last three games and even had 148 against Gawn/Grundy combination last season. Rucks this year against Gawn haven’t really fired but the best have been Grundy 118, English 113 and Nank 85. What I love about Rowan is his ability to fill all the stat lines and does so with 92% game time. Must be backed in again with some juicy VC options before him.

No. 2 – Merrett v RICH
@ Marvel, SAT 7:40pm 

Last year against the Tigers, Merrett had a season-high 158 (39d, 8m). His last two games at the MCG have been awesome as well with 123 and 125. We all know the type of scores the Tigers give up, and Merrett will be cashing in… mark my words.

No. 3 – Zorko v HAW
@ Marvel , SUN 1:10pm 

Half-backers and DEFs have dominated the Hawks recently with Houston 136, Bonner 129, NWM 119, Wilkie 114 and Dale 105 leading the way in the last three weeks. Zorko is coming off some big games of 148, 109 and 184 … VC if you can!

No. 4 – Daicos v FREO
@ Optus, FRI 8:10pm 

Ranked #5 on form with an average of 125 after scoring 115, 131 and 122 in his most recent games. Daicos played at Optus last year for 114 (WCE) and in this game last year against the Dockers he had 132 (36 touches, MCG) and recently the Dockers have been leaking a few points.

No. 5 – Martin v RICH
@ Marvel , SAT 7:40pm 

Half-backs against the Tigers also feast. Look at what Zorko 148 and Ryan 161 had. Martin will be huge if… they don’t play him forward. He played 83% of the final term FWD for 0 marks and 14pts. Another VC option if you can who could go 90 to 150!

ALSO CONSIDER…

Dawson v West Coast – Dawson played the Eagles twice last year for 105 and 105. He is coming off 117 and 118, and as we know the Eagles give up plenty.  Two weeks ago, Daicos 131 and Crisp 130 scored well and JD will here.

Gawn v St Kilda – While Marshall dominates himself… he lets his opponent do as they please. Jackson 116, Meek 124, Xerri 127 and Sweet 96 have all recently had a day out against him. Max Gawn should do the same.

Green v Geelong – Geelong are one of the easiest teams to post points against with Anderson 142, Rowell 132, Miller 108… Wines 133, Butters 128, JHF 113 all killing it recently. Green should be way better than his recent 83 and 98.
