$75k kitty on Saturday and $60k for Sunday
Ryan Byrnes (MID, $8,590)
Saturday v Kangaroos
Byrnes was St Kilda’s top scorer last week with 107 and 12 marks – in a thumping loss.
He’ll be a popular pick based on this, and the fact he can be selected at under $9k. This is the type of pick you don’t want to get to fancy with. He plays the Roos who are still giving up plenty of points (second most for the season across all positions) and should score something that we’ll be happy with based on his low price.
Ben Cunnington (MID, $12,840)
Saturday v St Kilda
Over the last five weeks, St Kilda have now given up the most points to opposition midfielders. Cunnington is always his team’s leader in CBAs (centre bounce attendances) and has hit some top form scoring 115, 110, 76, 126 and 95 in his last five games.
Based on form and his opponent, I think we can expect anything between 110 and 130 this week.
Tom Stewart (DEF, $13,710)
Saturday v Collingwood
Although Collingwood have tightened up on the amount of points they are conceding to midfielders, nothing has changed in the back-half where they are giving up just as many as ever.
Stewart scored 138 against the Pies last year and although his form hasn’t been awesome, this is a match-up he would have had circled on the calendar from the start of the year,
Tom Green (MID, $12,200)
Saturday v Brisbane
It’s simple – you need this guy!
Green is starting to attend more CBAs than ever before and his scores are starting to reflect it. Green has now averaged 100 over his last three games and is way too cheap to turn your back on this weekend.
Callum Mills (DEF/MID, $15,150)
Sunday v Carlton
The 2021 Callum Mills is unreal… and when I mean unreal I mean he has averaged 118 in his last five games and hasn’t put a foot wrong.
Against the Blues, you would assume that he would dominate just like he has over the last three weeks with scores of 111, 111 and 133. In fact, he carries a lowest score of just 91 in his last eight games and although he’s expensive, he is worth every dollar.
Dusty Martin (MID/FWD, $13,010)
Sunday v Adelaide
After his 66 last week – this is a controversial “best pick of the weekend”, but hear me out.
Dusty loves playing the Crows and has dominated them in the past like you would not believe with scores of 118, 140, 114 and 127, this is a team he averages 102 against over his massive career of 14-games against them.
Adding to this, he carries a lowest score of only 90 in his last eight against them and now you are starting to see what I’m trying to say.
Since 2015 from his eight games against them he has averaged 114 and after his poor 66 last week, this is a guy who is about to explode when he meets the Crows on Sunday afternoon.
REMINDER: Teams for Sunday are announced tonight. Be sure to check final teams before entering your team to play.
