West Coast were again ranked in the bottom 3 for Disposals in the 2019 H&A season, the Eagles averaged 352.9 Disposals (Rank 16) last season slightly down on the 2018 average of 357.1 Disposals in the 2018 H&A season (Rank 16).
Not being a disposal heavy team does limit the options available from West Coast, inconsistency can also be an issue from a fantasy perspective.
The Eagles traded for Tim Kelly in the off-season, this is likely to disrupt the CBA’s (Centre Bounce Attendances) for the 2020 season. At this stage it’s likely to impact Dom Sheed the most, he may move out on to a wing more often with the departure of Chris Masten.
West Coast will again be a highly competitive team in 2020 however it’s not expected that will equate into more disposals, the Eagles were only 1 of 2 teams not to record 400 Disposals in a game during the 2019 H&A season.

2020 Potential Targets:
Andrew Gaff MID $719K
Gaff was the highest ranked player to score 100pts or more in 81.8% of games in 2019, he also scored 120pts or more in 36.4% of games (Rank 7).
The ownership levels for Gaff were low in 2019 as a result of missing the opening 2 games of the season due to suspension, his consistency does make him a viable option again in 2020 with his role unlikely to change.
Gaff did not record fewer than 27 Disposals in any game last season, his lowest AFL Fantasy score was 91pts in 2 games (R6 v Geelong & R12 v Sydney) at smaller away venues. Gaff averaged 116.4pts at Optus Stadium in 2019 & 106.4pts at all other venues.
Francis Watson DEF $361K
Watson finally made his debut in 2019 averaging 64.0pts from 2 games, the lack of games does provide a heavily discounted salary to begin the 2020 season.
At the age of 24 Watson appears ready to further impact at AFL level, he averaged 16.1 Disposals, 3.8 Marks & 2.1 Tackles from 14 games in the WAFL last season.
Competition for spots at West Coast will be tough to begin the season, if Watson does make the Round 1 team he provides some value if you’re looking to spend down at the Defender position.
Nic Naitanui RUCK $471K
Selecting Naitanui at Round 1 does come with a high level of risk, a series of knee injuries have restricted him to just 36.4% of possible games since the beginning of the 2016 H&A season.
Additionally to the injury concerns for Naitanui is his current role at the Eagles, coach Adam Simpson prefers to play a dual Ruck set-up which does limit the scoring opportunities at that position.
There is upside for Naitanui, having played just 3 H&A games in 2019 his Round 1 salary this season is heavily discounted by 15-20pts based on his previous season averages.
The Round 12 Bye for West Coast may be a problem, upgrading from Naitanui to a premium scoring Ruck may prove to be difficult over the Bye period if you want to maximise players on the ground over that period.
