IT’S THURSDAY!!
We’re in the home stretch now as the majority of us go from completing our teams to looking for points of difference. Sadly I’m out of the running for a hat so I’ll be focusing on taking out the DT Talk writers’ league! Look, it’s something alright? I can’t walk away from this season empty-handed…
Round 21 kicks off 19:50 AEST Friday night so make sure you have all your trades, captain, and emergencies locked in by then! The Traders will be reacting LIVE today from 18:15 AEST on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.
As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.
GWS vs Hawthorn
Three ins for the Giants, Adam Kennedy, Jeremy Cameron, and Dawson Simpson. Jeremy Finlayson and Harry Himmelberg are injured, and Connor Idun has been omitted. No Josh Kelly or Matt de Boer means three things: No tag for Worpel, Williams and Greene go big, and Mumford’s one week of relevancy in DFS is over.
Three changes for the Hawks as well. James Cousins, Jonathon Ceglar, and Changkuoth JiathGrant (170k DEF) are in, Grant Birchall and Ben McEvoy are injured, and Conor Nash has been omitted. Ceglar may have a career game here.
Melbourne vs Collingwood
Steven May returns this week to take the place of…Braydon Preuss! Massive for Gawn owners.
Mason Cox is out for the season, he’s replaced by Jack Madgen. While the Cox effect is long dead, you can’t help but feel Grundy could go even better in these last few weeks without him.
Port Adelaide vs Sydney
No changes for Port, but Ollie Wines is listed as an emergency.
James Bell (170k MID/FWD) will debut this week! Dane Rampe is the other inclusion, Kieren Jack and James Rose have been omitted.
Brisbane vs Gold Coast
Brisbane go in unchanged which means, as of right now, Dayne Zorko is playing. It’s also another week without Corey Lyons debuting, let’s keep him until next year please Brisbane!
Two changes for the Suns, and two big omissions. Jack Martin and Peter Wright have been dropped…Caleb Graham (170k DEF/RUC) and Jacob Heron come in. Jarrod Witts has been named and I think he’ll be fine, Graham will likely be filling Wright’s role as secondary ruckman.
Essendon vs Western Bulldogs
SIX changes for Essendon, although this could pay off as teams that have made six changes have won every time this year. Ben McNiece, Shaun McKernan, Mark Baguley, Dyson Heppell, David Myers, and Josh Begley are in. Aaron Francis, Adam Saad, Darcy Parish, Matt Guelfi, and Will Snelling are all injured, while Michael Hartley has been omitted.
The Bulldogs have two injuries, Caleb Daniel and Tom Liberatore are out, Will Hayes and Taylor Duryea are in.
Geelong vs North Melbourne
Four changes for the Cats after their loss to Fremantle. Harry Taylor, Brandan Parfitt, Luke Dahlhaus, and Quinton Narkle come in. Jordan Clark and Gary Rohan are injured, Scott Selwood and Lachie Henderson have been omitted.
The Kangaroos make two changes with Luke Davies-Uniacke injured and Sam Durdin omitted. Jed Anderson and Shaun Atley return.
St. Kilda vs Fremantle
Sunday squads! St. Kilda have already announced three outs, Jade Gresham and Doulton Langlands are injured, and Daniel McKenzie has been omitted. Jack Newnes, Dan Hannebery, and Jack Steven have been named on field, with Blake Acres, Ben Paton, Bailey Rice, and Sam Rowe filling out the extended bench.
No outs for Fremantle yet, Hayden Ballantyne, Cam McCarthy, Ryan Nyhuis, and Travis Colyer have been added to the team. No Nathan Wilson.
Richmond vs Carlton
Dan Butler is the only out so far, but with Sydney Stack and Toby Nankervis both added to the squad you feel that someone else may have to give way. Jack Ross, Kamdyn McIntosh, and Marlion Pickett (170k MID) are the other hopefuls.
Similar story with Carlton. Angus Schumacher the only omission but with the potential inclusions of Matthew Kreuzer, Jarrod Garlett, Dale Thomas, Mitch McGovern, and Liam Jones you’d think there will be a few more changes made before lockout.
West Coast vs Adelaide
No outs for either team. Eagles have added Jamie Cripps, Mark Hutchings, Josh Rotham, and Brendon Ah Chee, with Cripps announced as a certain starter.
Adelaide have added Sam Jacobs, Hugh Greenwood, Paul Seedsman, and Chayce Jones. Plenty of talk about Reilly O’Brien being a late out, you’d want to handcuff Jacobs in your draft leagues just in case.
