Club-by-club key Fantasy takeaway from Match Sim

One player per club has a snippet from Warnie.

We took some notes across the Match Simulation games and recorded a podcast (listen here). Here’s one takeaway for each club. Stats thanks to Heff & co… plus Pete who did the CBAs.

Click here for all the stats.

Lachlan McAndrew (RUCK, $286,000) looks set to be the main ruck for the Crows with ROB playing in the twos. A lock at R3 … but could you go with him as R2 to free up some cash?

STATS: 73 points – 13d, 4m, 3t, 18ho

Keidean Coleman (DEF, $559,000) started forward and looks like that half-forward role could be real. This isn’t great for Fantasy traditionally as his floor will be much lower.

STATS: 70 points – 13d, 8m, 1t, 1g

Jagga Smith (MID, $230,000) is a lock. He’s classy. Was on managed minutes, so don’t stress about his numbers. He’ll get some midfield time with Walsh.

STATS: 41 points – 13d, 1m, 1g

Angus Anderson (MID, $230,000) could fill a hole for the Pies. They were without Daicos x2, but hit 61% of their CBAs. As a 22yo, he might be a sneaky cash cow options.

STATS: 56 points – 12d, 3m, 5t

Darcy Parish (MID, $759,000) was excellent in the midfield. If you had any doubts on him – mostly fitness and the risk could always be there – then throw them away. Had 70% CBAs including being rested in the last. Basically 1st/2nd banana.

STATS: 71 points – 21d, 2m, 1t, 2g

Luke Jackson (RUCK, $995,000) didn’t have Darcy with him, so rucked most of the game (around a 70-30 split with Cox). Ruck rules suit him as he dominated hitouts and found plenty. He didn’t play as a midfielder in the game, only in the middle to ruck.

STATS: 91 points – 18d, 5m, 1t, 28ho, 1g

Mitch Edwards (RUCK, $230,000) is the guy to talk about here after Tanner Bruhn was a late out with illness. The basement priced ruck came on and had 10 hitouts, nore than SDT (5) who was the starting ruck. Could they use him at some point?

STATS: 36 points – 7d, 4t, 10ho

Christian Petracca (MID/FWD, $948,000) controlled the midfield but there was no Anderson or Rowell. Remember that Rowell will miss early and CP3 will be in the guts. Lock.

STATS: 64 points – 17d, 4m, 1t

Kieren Briggs (RUCK, $738,000) kicked three goals in the first quarter and another in the second. He started forward with Riccardi in the ruck but took over in the second. Interesting splits. Enough to be scary despite the score. There was no Hogan though.

STATS: 98 points – 16d, 5m, 1t, 13ho, 4g

Connor Macdonald (FWD, $714,000) hit around 30% of CBAs for the game with minimal in the last. He is probably tracking to be that 4th banana with 40-50% CBAs.

STATS: 110 points – 24d, 8m, 3t, 1g

Caleb Windsor (DEF, $565,000) was in the role we wanted to see, but he didn’t touch the Sherrin as much as we wanted to see. To have 53% CBAs for the game (sat the last), we proabbyl wanted more stats.

STATS: 35 points – 11d, 2m, 1t

Harry Sheezel (FWD, $1,145,000) copped a knock, but was all good. We need to watch his role next week as his 67% CBAs in the last quarter was the only Q he went over 50%. Good players don’t need to try in pre-season…

STATS: 72 points – 20d, 4m, 3t

Miles Bergman (DEF, $822,000) is a fringe player in our Fantasy teams. The eye test of role was a tick as he had plenty of CBAs – behind Drew who was No.1 banana (no Butters and JHF was off injured early). The points weren’t there though.

STATS: 45 points – 14d, 1m, 1t

Sam Grlj (DEF/MID, $322,000) looks to be the best of the draftees. He had plenty of the pill off half-back and looks set to be a round one starter.

STATS: 98 points – 26d, 7m, 2t

Mattaes Phillipou (FWD, $610,000) was a midfielder and that’s all we have to say. Plenty of time in the middle and looked great. Feel comfortable with him in your side. Flanders was too and dominated – is the gap closing on him to Sheez?

STATS: 90 points – 27d, 5m, 2t1g

Errol Gulden (MID, $1,073,000) is forcing our hand to pick him despite the round three bye. I’ve been all in for a bit, but his inside game to go with his run is going to make him close to M1.

STATS: 111 points – 28d, 2m, 3t, 2g

Deven Robertson (FWD, $232,000) is a lock for F6. He’ll be part of the Eagles’ midfield. He’s behind Reid and McCarthy, but should get decent clock and will make good cash if he keeps up his pressure with tackles.

STATS: 63 points – 19d, 1m, 4t

Lachie Jaques (DEF, $230,000) has been a pre-season bolter. If you read the Playbook, you’ll know he copped a mention there. Dale went off injured, but he was there from the start and got his hands on it plenty of times in that nice Dogs system.

STATS: 82 points – 22d, 6m, 2t
