A massive shoutout to Heff at The Keeper League Pod – and his helpers – for the epic work this week in collating Fantasy scores from the Match Simulations this week. Fantasy Observer grabbed the Essendon v Richmond ones. Scroll down to the bottom for some notes from Heff about taking these and what you should be thinking.

Take all pre-season stats with a pinch of salt. They’re extremely hard to call accurately on grainy footage at a fast pace. Some possessions are genuinely impossible to see, so rather than guess, I often skip them altogether. Some players may have had more than I counted.
It’s often impossible to differentiate between players. When the camera is zoomed out, the ball is the far side of the ground, and the player is side-on so you can’t see their numbers – some players genuinely look identical. That can lead to some inaccuracies.
I get asked a lot about including time on ground. Without a live data feed or being able to see the bench consistently, there’s no reliable way to track it. Many low scores are TOG-affected though, which is why actually watching the game matters as much as the numbers.
Games I watch on my own are logged using an AI voice-to-text stat counter I built. It’s good, but you can’t monitor everything live, and the AI does assign some stats incorrectly. It does have a review system, but some mistakes do get through. I’d estimate ~90% accuracy.
Some games are logged with the help of a dedicated play caller. They are extremely good at what they do, and for those games I’d comfortably back the stats to be ~95% accurate. They don’t want to be identified, but I’m incredibly grateful for their help across this week.
Thanks for the support (and to those who are lenient with my mistakes haha). I’m a bit of a perfectionist and want to do my best work. This takes a lot of work, and my brain is fried by the end, but it’s worth it to give back to a community that’s given so much to me.

Thanks so much taking the time to do this Warnie. Even if it’s only 90% correct, it gives us an idea apart from those where ToG is only 50% and we’re not aware of it, The scores of 90+ gives us an idea as to who was having a good performance.
Thank you!
