AFL Teams 2025: Round 7 (ANZAC day round)

Remaining round 7 teams have dropped!

Wednesday – Early news

Teamsheets have dropped! It’s ANZAC Round, and there are two Friday games this week – including the traditional Pies vs Dons clash to kick things off.

Early news: Campbell Gray (Def/Fwd) will debut for the Tigers – with rookies drying up, some might consider him as an option. He’s a good chance to be the sub, but we’ll know before lockout. Adam Yze has confirmed “we’ll have a different sub this week,” meaning Luke Trainor is off the hook – at least for now. Ollie Wines, who was subbed last week with heart concerns, is expected to train and play. With both Draper and Bryan injured at the Bombers, veteran Todd Goldstein is tipped to return. He might be a risky but cheap solo ruck option if selected. Luke Jackson is listed as just 1 week away. A few other DT-relevant names – Callum Mills, Keidean Coleman, and Mattaes Phillipou – are all 1-2 weeks off and worth watching as potential value pickups.

Important times to remember:

Thursday Game teamsheets ~6:20pm EST Wed

Weekend Teamsheets ~6:20pm EST Thurs

Sunday games Extended bench selection ~5:00pm EST Friday

GAME 1: Melbourne vs Richmond

Thursday, April 24, 7:30pm AEST MCG Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: We already knew Campbell Gray was debuting ・it screams sub to me, but as the first game we can always check before lockout. McVee and May both in as KPP defenders makes me think Rivers could be a smokey pick up.

Team INS OUTS
Melbourne Bayley Fritsch, Judd McVee, Steven May Jake Melksham (Managed), Daniel Turner (Injured), Blake Howes (Omitted)
Richmond Rhyan Mansell, Campbell Gray Noah Balta (Personal), Samson Ryan (Injured)

GAME 2: Collingwood vs Essendon

Friday, April 25, 2:20pm AEST MCG Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: Traditional ANZAC Day game. No surprises with Dan Houston back in from suspension, and as expected Goldstein is the Dons・ruck with Draper out injured. Saad El-Hawli has been dropped ・a dagger for anyone who wore his -1 last week.

Team INS OUTS
Collingwood Dan Houston, Tim Membrey, Lachlan Sullivan Darcy Moore, Mason Cox, Edward Allan
Essendon Kyle Langford, Todd Goldstein Sam Draper, Saad El-Hawli

GAME 3: Fremantle vs Adelaide Crows

Friday, April 25, 7:10pm AEST (Local Time 5:10pm) Optus Stadium Perth 🌦🌡

Notes: The second Friday game on ANZAC Day sees the Dockers take on the Crows. Peatling is back ・if you held as a mid-pricer, it might pay off. Quinton Narkle earns his first game for Freo, though isn稚 so DT relevant at this stage.

Team INS OUTS
Fremantle Corey Wagner, Heath Chapman, Quinton Narkle James Aish, Jaeger O’Meara, Bailey Banfield
Adelaide Crows Josh Rachele, James Peatling Darcy Fogarty, Sam Berry

GAME 4: St Kilda vs Brisbane Lions

Saturday, April 26, 12:20pm AEST Marvel Stadium Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: Isaac Keeler is back in if you had him as a cashcow. The inclusion of Kai Lohmann raises concerns that Tunstill could be the obvious sub choice from that bench, if you were considering him as a downgrade option this week.

Team INS OUTS
St Kilda Dougal Howard, Isaac Keeler Arie Schoenmaker, Liam Henry
Brisbane Lions Kai Lohmann Sam Marshall

GAME 5: Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne

Saturday, April 26, 3:15pm AEST (Local Time 2:45pm) Adelaide Oval Adelaide 🌦🌡

Notes: No big DT relevant changes here. Hardeman might be a fringe cashcow option back in for North. Same with Joe Berry for Port. Boak out might give some players like Moraes more opportunities.

Team INS OUTS
Port Adelaide Joe Richards, Jeremy Finlayson, Joe Berry Rory Atkins, Travis Boak, Tom Cochrane
North Melbourne Kallan Dawson, Jackson Archer, Riley Hardeman Aidan Corr, Griffin Logue, Zac Fisher

GAME 6: GWS Giants vs Western Bulldogs

Saturday, April 26, 6:35pm AEST Manuka Oval Canberra 🌦🌡

Notes: Likely the best downgrade option this week, Jedd Busslinger has very good numbers in the VFL. If you池e jumping on a basement rookie, he痴 your guy. Named on field, so very unlikely to be sub, but do beware he痴 a key position defender and GWS are a tough opponent.

Team INS OUTS
GWS Giants Jesse Hogan Callum M. Brown
Western Bulldogs Jedd Busslinger, Laitham Vandermeer, James Harmes Liam Jones, Lachlan McNeil, Sam Darcy

GAME 7: Gold Coast Suns vs Sydney Swans

Sunday, April 27, 12:15pm AEST People First Stadium Gold Coast 🌦🌡

Notes: Extended bench for the Swans looks tricky ・owners of Cleary should be on high alert. He may not make the cut or could even be the sub.

Team INS OUTS
Gold Coast Suns Brayden Fiorini, Ned Moyle, Sam Clohesy ・/td>
Sydney Swans Ben Paton, Peter Ladhams, Angus Sheldrick ・/td>

GAME 8: Carlton vs Geelong Cats

Sunday, April 27, 2:20pm AEST MCG Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: Docherty is back in, but listed on the bench ・if you held after his drop, he痴 back on your radar. Oliver Wiltshire could debut for the Cats, and veteran Mitch Duncan appears on the extended bench for the first time this season. Still no inclusion of Pittonet if you are a TDK owner.

Team INS OUTS
Carlton Harry McKay, Lachlan Cowan, Sam Docherty ・/td>
Geelong Cats Ois匤 Mullin, Oliver Wiltshire, Mitch Duncan, Jhye Clark Gryan Miers

GAME 9: Hawthorn vs West Coast Eagles

Sunday, April 27, 3:45pm AEST Marvel Stadium Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: Tim Kelly is out with injury, which improves the chances of Tom Gross if selected from the extended bench. Elijah Hewett is also on the extended list and likely to hold his spot after an excellent showing last round. He could be a pricey but relevant downgrade target.

Team INS OUTS
Hawthorn Bailey Macdonald, Henry Hustwaite, Finn Maginness, Jack Ginnivan Conor Nash
West Coast Eagles Tom Cole, Oscar Allen, Tyler Brockman, Noah Long, Sandy Brock Harry Edwards, Tim Kelly

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter @shagbags2023 ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.
