Matt Roberts (DEF, $780,000) 🔒
SCORE: 104 (95% TOG)
PRICED AT: 76
Lock and load. Just 10 points in the first quarter, but then went bang. 39, 32, 23 to finish. Lizard had a stranglehold on the kick-ins (Blakey 10, Roberts 1, Florent 1), but the nine marks made up for anything he missed there. Select with confidence.
Sam Wicks (FWD, $393,000) 📈
SCORE: 74 (90% TOG)
PRICED AT: 38
As flagged by Drew Jones on our chat this morning, Wicks is in defence and could be a nice late round pick for your forward line in Draft.
Corey Warner (FWD, $257,000) ❌
SCORE: 42 (71% TOG)
PRICED AT: 25
It’s just a no deal. Role isn’t going to allow for massive scores and there will be better FWD options. Note: Taylor Adams has done a hammy so that may increase job security.
Angus Sheldrick (MID, $448,000) ❌
SCORE: 32 (48% TOG)
PRICED AT: 44
Put a line through him. Subbed out in the third quarter tactically (after receiving some attention for blood). Firstly the flag for being subbed where we thought he may get a bump in scoring due to Gulden and Mills being out (usage was fine as he hit a dozen CBAs), but then his -1 in the second quarter was a bigger issue. Find those other ‘$400k’ options without a bye.
Will Day (MID, $760,000) ✅🔒
SCORE: 129 (73% TOG)
PRICED AT: 74
Wowee! What a rollercoaster! First half score of 96 (43 in first, 53 in second). He’s booted three goals and had 19 disposals. Jordan was moved to him in the third, but then went off to see the trainers and sat half the quarter on the bench. He returned in the last to add 24 points and finish with a game high 129, way above his breakeven … which means he’s basically a must-have. He has put a target on his back for taggers. Hawks have Dons (Durham? Maybe even Setters to come in?), Carlton (Hewett?), GWS (Bedford?) ahead of their round 4 bye. But we roll with this – and the price rises – in our Classic teams. Ownership should be a safe ship here. Not that he wasn’t playing in the guts, but James Worpel has now got syndes.
Lloyd Meek (RUCK, $907,000) 📈
SCORE: 110 (83% TOG)
PRICED AT: 88
If it wasn’t for the bye, we’d be all in. Better value than TDK at basically the same price IMO. He’s 13th ranked by ADP in draft, so look for a nice pick there if you punt rucks. People will be onto it now. Grundy didn’t look great despite his 40 hitouts. Could you do it in Classic? If you’re happy for his replacement to be a score that drops out (whether a donut or Boyd/Meek).
James Sicily (DEF, $896,000) ❌
SCORE: 81 (91% TOG)
PRICED AT: 87
Looked alright in the role we wanted for the first half. Scored 56 going into the main break. It went sour when we saw starting sub (WTF?) Sam Frost come on in the third when Worpel went down with injury. The last quarter saw Six Dawg play purely forward. This is where the issue is going to be. You can’t start a guy who is clearly going to be used as a swingman. Didn’t take long in this game. A benefit of the free hit cheat code.

Why aren’t we considering Wicks more? If Sheldrick scored 74 from 90% TOG in this game we would be locking him in. Not to mention he’s available as a fwd and is 6 points cheaper… certainty looks like he could be value.
He is someone to consider just think we have other options there as well like Garcia, Davidson, Kako and Stone
yeah as a lockdown defender im surprised hes even mentioned
Wicks is in for me on the bench will make a little cash the next few weeks
