AFL Teams 2024: Round 0 (AKA Cyclone Alfred Round)

Welcome back for 2025. Its Round 0…also known as Cyclone Alfred round.

Thursday – Early news

Welcome to the AFL Premiership Season 2025! This is the first Teamsheet for the year, with a very bizarre Round 0 situation, which does not count for Fantasy scores, though the games can still affect player price changes. Additionally, two games have been postponed due to Cyclone Alfred. The postponed games are:

  • Brisbane Lions vs Geelong Cats: Rescheduled to March 29 (Round 3).
  • Gold Coast Suns vs Essendon: Rescheduled to Round 24 later in the season.

Teamsheets have dropped!

Important times to remember:

Thursday ~6:20 pm Round teams revealed

Friday ~5:00 pm Sunday extended bench selections

GAME 1: Sydney Swans vs Hawthorn

Friday, 7:40pm AEDT SCG, Sydney Sydney 🌦🌡

Notes: Heeney and Grundy make their return after interrupted preseasons, adding to the excitement for the Swans this week. Angus Sheldrick is a popular point of difference (POD) pick, so many will be keen to see how he performs and how he scores in this game. Matt Roberts remains a popular choice, and his performance will likely be closely watched by many Fantasy coaches looking to assess his value for the season. Additionally, Tom Hanily (mid $230k) and Corey Warner (Fwd $257k) are possible cash cow options if they get a decent score in this Round 0 game.

The usual GWS lads in Whitfield, Coniglio, and Kelly are always potential options for Fantasy teams. Many will also be interested in seeing if Harry Perryman can keep his solid role at the new club. Conor Stone is a popular cash cow pick, so make sure he’s selected as he’s currently on the extended bench. Any player who performs big could be an option, especially for those looking to make some quick coin.
