Why should I pick him?
Green enters his 6th season in the orange and charcoal priced at more than 10 points under his 2023 career peak of 110.6 and looks ripe for the picking . It’s hard to find such a clear #1 Mid in any other side in the competition and I expect Green to relish the opportunity to shoulder the load for Adam Kingsley’s side.
With Peatling moving on there’s a clear path for Green to improve his tackle numbers as his outside/inside game continues to develop.
With the injury affected score of 7 bringing his season long average down considerably and it clearly hampering him in the weeks following, the pick of Green really is a no brainer for my starting side.
Good early oppo run, minimal competition for mid time, price. Tick, tick, tick.
In a year really lacking in obvious upside for our full blown premium midfield picks, I think Green is the one.
Why shouldn’t I pick him?
The obvious one is the Round 2 bye. The discourse around this has been a lot different to this time last season with coaches more open to taking this risk. There are a number of different approaches you could take to Green and his place in your side and whilst I continue to work through those, one thing is for certain, I am willing to burn 1-2 trades ensuring he’s sitting there in Round 4 v the Eagles who he had 120 on last year.
There is always a slight injury risk with Green but I’m not one to jump at those shadows.
Deck of DT Rating.
KING
King on the microphone and King of the Giants midfield, Green would be an almost must have if not for the early bye. He’ll be there for me Round 1 barring any mishaps.

Done. Better late than never.
Damn no photo and a significantly reduced word limit… production value has plummeted
Good write up Takes. The bye is the only concern for me at this stage & whether to start or get in post bye
Good article, but with Smith, Coleman, mills, all early byes, and locks, can we take a 4th early bye player?
Is Mills a lock? If he is getting midfield time then yes but that’s far from a guarantee at this stage.
