Only one Sunday change – replacing Salem with Budarick and bringing in a more expensive bench rook.

I reckon has Budarick might have similar scoring to Salem for more cash generation upside – what do you guys think?

Leaves me with ~$150K in the kitty to give me more flexibility for early season correctional trades in rounds 2 & 3.
Not keen to spend the extra cash just for the sake of it.

Nice PODs in Heeney, Merrett, Newcombe, Wardlaw, Daicos.

Personal preference would be to back in someone like a Bonner, Sharp etc, over Fyfe and swap Jordon to FWD line, but if you think he will score well, back him in.

Backline looks a little weak, with Coffield over Reid/Shoenmaker probably ideal, but finding a 150K in cash would force you to probably downgrade Daicos or someone in your mids. So you need to determine if you are happy with the risk.

Have a few different PODs, but main likes about this team is that I am confident in its ability to generate a lot of cash, no weak backline and the rookies I am picking I am confident in (no Reid/Shoenmaker etc.).

Interested in thoughts.

So I’m not sure who to put at M2 or M3, but I have enough cash to buy anyone ($1.09m). This is how the team is shaping up at the moment, what are your thoughts? Id love feedback haha. Im thinking about Whitfield too, what do you reckon?

Defence: Sheezel, Young, Salem, Yeo, Williams, Coffield, (Schoenmaker, Reid)

Midfield: Bontempelli, *unknown*, Steele, Martin, Crouch, Wines, Sanders, McKercher, (Roberts, Sharp)

Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Barnett)

Forward: Heeney (or LJ or fyfe if I need to save cash), Fisher, Jordon, Sexton, Reid, Lazzaro, (Cadman, Wilson)

Utility: Clark or a forward/mid dpp

Spare Cash at the moment: (With one unselected player) $1.09m

I thought I could maybe go Amon or Newcombe or someone around that pricetag at M2/3 then go from Lazzaro to Fyfe, I don’t know for sure, I’m just experimenting. I could also chase the points by starting Green at M2 then trading to Gulden after R2. I really don’t know at the moment.

Any thoughts?

Looks solid. Depending on who you get at M2, you could potentially upgrade to a rookie to a mid-pricer in the fwd line if you feel 2 rookies on field is a risk.

Not sure on whether JS and rookie management makes playing Reid and another rookie on field a safe play.

Main feedback would be for the price of Macrae you could get a much better option in the midfield, so I would recommend swing Jordon to the forward line and getting a Wines or Amon type if you want to save money or use that spare cash to go up to a premo.

On quick glance you are running more off a traditional guns and rookies approach. You have more forward premos than most and running more traditional guns in the midfield versus chasing value with the mid-pricers i.e. Wines, Crouch, Martin etc.

The benefits of this is that you are starting with more likely keepers than most mid-pricer teams i.e. up to 12 in yours vs ~8.

This will set you up well in the long-term as long as the rookies pay off in terms of JS and scoring. Could quickly backfire if they are dropped/score poorly.

Most coaches are opting to pay up more for Reid, Lazzaro etc. which requires a premo downgrade to a mid-pricer elsewhere, but makes it stand-out from most others this year.

Yea 4 MID rookies on the field is too many. I would upgrade Duursma up to Wines or Crouch.

To do that you will need to drop some premos players to cheaper better value premos. For example
Bont/ Green to Steele/Touk.
Macrae to Jackson

Does anyone think it’s possible to go very deep in the back line. So have Sheezel, Stewart, Whitfield, young, Yeo, Williams. This mean I have to go real value in the forward line so I still have enough cash for the midfield. Or do go the opposite in a way and start both Jackson and Heeney in the forward line and take out either Stewart or Whitfield for a Coffield. I’ve got a few good teams just don’t know which to choose lol

Nah’s he’s a bit of a sleeper atm. Watch everyone get on him after this potentially lol I guess its worth noting that he is over 30 now in a team that is known for resting their older players and he has yet to average over 100 in fantasy & and he does get some attention from opposition players which doesn’t help his scoring. But I do think his role will allow him to get some easy +6s

Pretty stock standard team however with over $300k in the bank and not really much in the way of PODs, looking for any advice and feedback

DEF- Whitfield, Young, Yeo, Willaims, Coffield, Curtin (Reid, Schoenmaker)

MID – Green, Laird, Rozee, Steele, Martin, Hewett, McKercher, Sanders (Roberts, Clark)

RUC – Gawn, Grundy (Barnett)

FWD – Jackson, Fisher, Jordan, Sexton, Reid, Lazzaro (Wilson, Duursma)

UTIL – Sharp

With Walsh and Doc down im expercting Hewett to get a lot more mid time and priced well.

Dropped Daicos and Sicily for Whitfield after OR and to make the most of the draw with WC and North

I’ve gone heavy on cash generation to target uber premiums that will drop in value like Bont and Daicos after Rnd 3/4 while also leaving alot of cash in the bank to move around as needed to make the best of the early byes.

Thoughts?

Not sure who to go for here out of these options in their respective positions:
Salem, Yeo or Budarick – Budarick cheapest but riskiest? Do they all have similar outputs though?
Hewett, Wines or Crouch – Loving Hewett as a POD but will Walsh affect him when he’s back? Wines and Crouch concern me a little too…

Major weigh up is Yeo vs Budarik and Wanganeen vs Houstoun.
