Fantasy starts round 1, so we get a free look at round 0 for how players will go. Prices will also change after round 0. But be careful because rounds 2,3,5&6 some teams have a bye, so keep that in mind before selecting players.

Fantasy scoring starts in Round 1 – you can use the data from Round 0 to make infinite trades till Round 1 lockouts

hey mate. fantasy doesnt start until R1 so OR is void. Players who play OR will have their price change from that round held off until after their second game (Round 1) where they’ll both happen at once. Their BEs will change after R0 though. Try avoid picking anyone (more specifically premiums) who play R0 as they have early byes.

Fisher should have a more consistent role and likely a higher ceiling. I expect Rankine will get thrown forward every now and then which will impact his scoring.

Im aiming for a high finish this year, and while most of my team is based a lot on high cash gen players, Im thinking about if its worth chasing points with bye premiums. Is it worth starting Tom Green (depending on OR) for his North and West Coast games, then trading him (because he then has a bye) out for Gulden for his Richmond and West Coast games, then trading Gulden to another premium for his bye? I dont know if it’s worth taking the risk or not, but what do you guys reckon?

Good strategy, but risky if you can’t trade them out due to other issues. However, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to keep them either and just sit them on the pine.

You dont have to trade players just because they have the bye. Number 1 rule is never trade your premiums!

I know, thanks though. But I wanna be really aggressive this year, maybe that’s the wrong strategy though, opening round can give me some insight on those guys along with others I guess. Thanks guys

Looks solid to me- not too many premiums clogging up their early byes in the same week.
I presume the Jones in your FWD bench is Darcy, he’s confirmed to have a couple weeks off following injury/sickness in the practice matches to play in the VFL. May be worthwhile bringing him in when named following GWS’ bye.

RUCK: Gawn, Xerri (Barnett)

Only got 15k spare and a bit concerned about a lack of captaincy options.

Reply to  Intelsonic

I mean assuming that Martin and Crouch are the non-injured variety it seems pretty solid. A lot of your focus seems to be on value likely to increase and I think that should pay off before captaincy options present a huge issue. Tom Green plays North and WCE early and considering his output against the Pies looks like a great captain – depending on Stewart & Young’s roles (mid vs def) you could pick one of them for your captaincy when Green has his early bye.

Good luck!

Gulden and Green will be great but probably wouldn’t take both given they have early byes.
Also looks as if Butters has done an ankle to maybe keep an eye on that prior to R1.
Think there’s a lot of upside in Amon and Wardlaw and would recommend investing in a midfield premium who isn’t playing in OR for your 1st spot (I.e Bont or Merrett)

I know it’s tempting to chase points on Green against easy match ups round 1 and 2, then sideways trade him, but this game finds so many ways to kick you in the balls, and ruin your plans. I wouldn’t do it, so many good premium mids without the early bye

Solid team but would take Reid over Duursma in the forward line and a few little changes to the bench when the teams come out. Tsatas is good but if you could get Martin, Amon or the north Melbourne bull Wardlaw in your team it would look better. Still not sure on Coffield’s security but is in my team for now but thinking upgrading him to Zac Williams

Windsor and Cadman are risky to have on field. LDU i don’t rate, his floor is horrible.

GG Buddy

This is a super rookie heavy forward line, I think Windsor in particular should be on your bench. Even though he’ll have some bright spots, wouldn’t pick Cadman as he’s unlikely to pay huge dividends (in points or value). Coleman’s obviously out and LDU has such poor consistency, I’d recommend:
OUT: Cadman, Coleman, LDU, one of your bench forwards to move Windsor to that spot.
IN: A few mid-pricers likely to gain some value, i.e. Fyfe and/or Williams + another forward without an opening round bye for the price of LDU and Coleman, put McKercher on field and bring in another rookie likely to make some cash for your midfield bench

Riding the early round byes (1K remaining in the bank), obviously i will be making some tweaks post opening round).

actually rate this structure, struggle town if two of the 3 or martin, crouch and wines dont work – but huge upside if they do – mixed with the 3 top dogs, just dont like green and gulden early byes. turn gulden to laird, then get green to gulden on his bye then either bench gulden during bye or go where evere
