Cal, use Difflam lozengers, they work a treat. Get the one with antiseptic, flavour your choice lol.
Had the worst throat a while back and these worked a treat. Your tongue will go numb but at least you will be able to swollow and the throat doesn’t hurt, and you can have a good night sllep which is the massive key.
