AFL Teams 2022: Round 16

First game of Round 16 Teamsheets for this Thursday night Lions vs Dogs have dropped!

Thursday June 30 – Update

James Tsitas gets his chance this week, the suns mid rookie is debuting. unfortunately, saints rookie Owens will still not be available for selection due to concussion protocol. Early reports are that Parish will be back for the dons.

Wednesday June 29 – Early news

Teamsheets for Lions vs Dogs have dropped! We have heard during the week a new Rookie debut for the dogs with fwd Dom Bedendo. Unfortunately for those who held, Tim English has been already ruled out. However news reports indicate that Preuss will be (NOT PLAYING %&’$!). For those who took a punt on Luke Jackson, Gawn is also ruled out for this week, but is a good chance for the following week. For those who already didnt know (Must have been living under a rock), Tom Stewart has been reported for 4 weeks. Carltons Defender woes continue with rookie Jordan Boyd ruled out for a few months. Lastly, its confirmed that Zorko is almost certain to be named back this week.

Important times to remember:

Thursday Lions vs Dogs Teamsheet ~6:20pm EST Wednesday

Remaining Weekend Teamsheets ~6:20pm EST Thursday

Sunday games Extended bench selection ~5:00pm EST Friday

GAME 1: Thursday June 30, Lions vs Dogs

Notes: As confirmed earlier, Zorko is named back, and we have a debut for Doggies with fwd Dominic Bedendo. Its good to see Lachie Hunter back into the team, and it will be interesting to see what role he plays in the team. If any team took a punt on cheaply priced Tom Berry, unfortunately he is straight back out of the squad. In a bit of a shock seeing his injury last week, Jarryd Lyons has some how avoided major damage and is named again, to a sigh of relief for owners. On the flip side, a few squads would have the late minute out of Caleb Daniel with a knee injury.

I need an under 700k fwd for one week so I can upgrade Hobbs to cover English. Will look to downgrade next week to a rookie. Looking at Baker, Moore or should I go Jeremy Cameron hoping they towel up the Roos at GMBHA?

      June 29, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Jeremy Cameron definitely a solid option, and I don’t mind Goldstein against Rhys Stanley. Take an 80 and trade next week. Pick someone who doesn’t have a massive breakeven so you maximise cash.

Loop McComb 62 or play Soligo on field?

  10. pendles4brownlow

    July 1, 2022 at 12:43 pm

Noting that Jackson will be given until the 11th hour before a decision on him playing, is there any point in trading him? If he plays, I will have changed the structure of my team, and set myself back a couple of weeks, all for nothing. If I don’t trade, and he doesn’t play, I eat a donut. If Melbourne were more open about this, and released the news more publicly, so it was known prior to the Bulldogs game, I would have had more flexibility in my trades. This sucks.

    • Bill

      July 1, 2022 at 3:14 pm

I don’t like to do these ‘unnecessary’ trades, but luckily I’m in a position where I can wait right up to Melbourne game time and if Jackson is out I can bring in O’Brien for Preuss.

If Jackson plays, I’ll trade Clark for a cheap rookie to free up some cash for next week, and trade Preuss straight to English next week.

My other trade this week is Stewart to Duncan.

      • pendles4brownlow

        July 1, 2022 at 3:53 pm

You’re lucky Bill. I had made the decision to hold English, which was not going to hurt too much, and it won’t if Jackson plays. However, it means I do not have a lot of cash to move Jackson on to anyone of note (not that I really trust ROB) and it is too late to move English. I can wait until the Melbourne game, but it will impact my trading in of Dawson. ROB would be a temp fix, so it wastes a number of trades and hurts the structure of my team.

        • Bill

          July 1, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Looks like you get a donut.

I can bring in Nank but I might stay with ROB.

            July 2, 2022 at 5:41 am

I have brought in ROB. I have lost count of the number of ruck trades I have done this season. Shocking round so far. C on Doc.

              July 3, 2022 at 1:51 pm

ROB went well against ruckless Melb. Same can’t be said for Witts.

I’m looking at a good score. Oliver (C).
