Draftstars Plays of Weekend – Rd. 18

The boys have been cashing in, so who makes their teams this week?

Welcome back to another edition of our best Draftstars’ plays for the weekend. With another huge kitty on offer for both the Saturday and Sunday contests, we have put our Fantasy brains together to hopefully steer you in the right directly of some cold hard cash.

PLAY NOW

$75k kitty on Saturday and $60k for Sunday

Good luck and please, gamble responsibly.

Lachlan Bramble (MID, $8,780)

Saturday v Melbourne

Bramble was so impressive last week with 99pts and was everywhere in his clash against the Dockers…. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. Bramble even found himself taking kick-ins for the first time this year and knew exactly what to do each time, playing on to himself two out of the three times. Good lad!

Tom McDonald (FWD, $10,820)

Saturday v Hawthorn

Choosing a forward on Saturday is mega tough, and McDonald stands out as one of the best picks. Coming off back to back 100+ scores, he could be even bigger here against the struggling Hawks.

He kicked 3.2 goals last week and looked very dangerous, and this match-up is even easier! A big bag is on the way?!

Jake Stringer (M/F, $11,790)

Sunday v Kangaroos

Good old String-Trick is up to his usual tricks. Coming off scores of 99, 112, 97 and 136 he is simply on fire.

Last week, Stringer was struggling and then in the fourth term turned it on in style scoring a massive 54pts. This is what he does, and this is what he could do again against one of the easiest teams when it comes to scoring points.

Jordan De Goey (MID, $12,070)

Sunday v Carlton

Each and every week, the GOAT finds himself getting a mention.

He is now averaging 116 in his last three games and recently, we spoke to him on our podcast and he told us a score of 130+ isn’t out of the question this week. Based on this alone, he must be picked again.

Patrick Cripps (MID, $11,610)

Sunday v Collingwood

He scored 51 last week, and now averages 60 in his last three games… which should make him unique here.

However, we are tipping he bounces back  against the Pies who are easy to score against on their day. He had 79 against them earlier this year and 100, 115 and 146 before that. Collingwood don’t tag and he should have more room than recent weeks.

He’s very cheap and worth a punt!

Nic Newman (DEF, $11,440)

Sunday v Collingwood

Oh Newman… this is why I’m hot on this guy this week, and why I traded him into my Fantasy team…

  • Collingwood have given up the most un-contested mark this year (again).
  • The Magpies have given up the third most points to defenders this year.
  • Jayden Short was my pick of the weekend last week because of this match-up. He scored 107 and was the highest scoring Richmond player.
  • Newman had a tough match-up v Geelong last week and still managed 74, before that he had 115 and 111.

REMINDER: Final teams for Sunday are announced tonight and be sure to check final teams before entering your team to play.
