Gold Coast AFL Fantasy Classic Prices 2020

Prices, positions & tips for the Suns.

The numbers were low again for Gold Coast in 2019, the Suns averaged 343.5 Disposals (Rank 18) which equated to an average of 1494.5pts per game (Rank 18).

The change continues to occur at Gold Coast, there has been another influx of high end talent via the draft along with a sprinkling of experience acquired through the trade period.

The Suns will still be in development mode in 2020, there will likely be role adjustments along the way which could bring about some instability in individual player scoring.

2020 Potential Targets:

Jarrod Witts RUCK $775K

For the first time in his career Witts averaged more than 100pts last season (2019 Ave: 104.4), he increased his Disposals by +0.9 & Hit Outs by +6.9 compared to his 2018 H&A season.

Witts scored 100pts or more in 45.5% of games in 2019, this was up from 2018 when he scored 100pts or more in 31.8% of games.

There is no current threat that Witts will have to split his role with any other player at the Suns in 2020, his Round 14 Bye may be appealing for those coaches looking to move away from a Grundy/Gawn Round 13 Bye combo.

Despite his solid 2019 average, ownership will likely be low to begin the 2020 season.

Brandon Ellis MID $629K

New recruit Ellis averaged 80.4pts in 2019 scoring 100pts or more in 26.1% of games, he averaged 92.8pts prior to the Round 14 Richmond Bye (Post Bye Ave: 69.1pts).

The MID only tag to begin the season for Ellis will result in low ownership at Round 1, if he slots into a defensive half-back role for the Suns then a DPP upgrade is possible early in the season.

Izak Rankine FWD $170K

Rankine missed the entire 2019 H&A season with multiple hamstring injuries, if he completes a full pre-season and is named at Round 1 expect ownership to be high.

The job security for Rankine should be quite high, unfortunately his scores may be limited if he is locked into a small forward roll at the Suns.

At best Rankine will likely provide decent bench cover early in the season at the F8 position.
