Team Sheets- Round 23

All the team sheets for Round 23!

IT’S THURSDAY!

Congratulations everyone!  You’ve made it to round 23, whether you’re competing for a hat, or a league, or are just treading water waiting for next season, the finish line is finally here.  Team sheets will be released at approximately 6.25pm AEST today, with The Traders reacting LIVE on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page from 6.05pm AEST!

In the meantime we’ll be updating all the news and rumours here, so if you’ve heard something on the grapevine feel free to tweet at me or use #AFLFantasy and I’ll find it eventually!

Key Updates:

Summary:

And that is that.  No carnage again, with just the two major outs that were already known, Tom Rockliff and Alex WitherdenMichael Walters is really the only other Classic-relevant omission as a fringe option, but Tom Bellchambers and Riley Bonner have Draft implications.  I guess people could still be rocking with Tom Doedee, Bailey Banfield, or Stephen Giro as bench cover, but they all made plenty of money so no harm done.

On the flip side of the coin we have…nothing.  Billy Frampton is some bench security, as well as Paul Ahern if he’s named in the final Sunday squad.  Trent Cotchin and Dion Prestia are draft relevant, as is Zac Williams as a sneaky punt.  Aaaaand…yep that’s it.  Good luck and enjoy the last round of Fantasy for 2018!

    Thoughts?
    Trade Rocky and Hurn/Wingard/Steven/JPK
    Rocky/Hurn–> Lloyd/Sidebottom
    Rocky/Steven–> Sidebottom/Beams
    Rocky/Wingard–> Sidebottom/Menegola
Jack Steven named but injured late last week against Hawthorn?

I would have thought brining in Sidebottom and Beams would give you the best change over.

    1) Mitchell + McLean -> Ross + Menagola
    2) Redden/Zorko -> Ross (+downgrade)

    Cheers!

      1. Roll the rice, and Ross will be huge with no Jacobs

Thanks …getting Ross either way though.

So the issue is Menagola and Zorko vs. Mitchell and McLean.

    Dunkley OR Menegola?

    • Andy.J

      August 23, 2018 at 11:16 pm

I’ve gone Dunkley due to his recent high consistency, though Menegola could also be good.

      • Plugger

        August 24, 2018 at 10:14 am

In addition to current form (both are v.good with Dunkley just favoured on that criteria), the other consideration is their respective opponents and home ground advantage this week. Taking those factors into account Menegola vs FREO at the cattery . . . Dunkley vs TIGERS at the G, I have narrowly gone for Menegola when faced with the same decision.

        All the best.

          August 24, 2018 at 12:11 pm

Correction, of course, Menegola vs Suns (not Freo) – no difference, though, in softness of opponent.

Neale vs Westhoff to replace the Chad at M8?

    • Plugger

      August 24, 2018 at 12:24 pm

Unless you have a good gut gauge telling you, Neale, the smart money ought to be on Westoff. He doesn’t shirk a big game and the Power certainly have a big game vs Dons ( and he has a little better current form). Freo will probably just get ground down quarter by quarter agaginst the Pies and I would not be overly confident Neale could a achieve his best over 4 quarters to score better than expectations of Westoff. So, IMO, brain would tend to favour Westoff unless it is out-trumped by a reliable gut.

Who will score the most in order?
    Titch, Seb, P.Cripps

    • Ben

      August 24, 2018 at 10:32 am

Seb should score the most. Pretty close between next two but probably cripps then titch

    August 24, 2018 at 10:15 am

Option 1: Titch to Ross, Martin to Grundy (field Ronke to cover Rocky)

Option 2: Martin to Grundy, Rocky to Mason Cox or $436k forward), keep Titch.

Option 3: Titch to Ross, Rocky to Westhoff, keep Martin.

In GF, opponent pretty evenly matched but has Grundy. Appreciate the thoughts..

I’m in a draft league so options aren’t as plentiful, but who should I run as captain this week?
    Titch, Yeo, Sidebottom?

I think I have gone Titch every game this year and only lost one, but I’m not too confident in him this week.

Yeo is in stellar form (127 last 5 rounds), Sidey could have an absolute field day against Freo, but then again, Titch might feel 2 or 3 votes will seal the brownlow and want to go that extra yard.
