Shags’ Watchlist

Another week another debut with Josh Battle (Fwd $174,000) who gets a run with Membrey out suspended. This would imply that his JS is shakey, but as it often goes, play well hold your spot. He started well in VFL this year however has had some time on the sidelines due to injury. I wouldn’t jump on this week but rather watch and see how he goes for 1 week.

EMG Harry Morrison, Ty Vickery, Brendan Whitecross
No Change
MILESTONES: Luke Hodge – Playing 300th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Scooter, Scott Selwood (Mid $506,000) was in some amazing form this year before a couple of games on the sidelines. He’s still relatively cheap if that form can come back, but he certainly isnt the bargain he was earlier in the year. This is a watch for one week if you are considering him as a cheaper premium to jump on, his BE of 101 means he wont go up too much if he guns.

Port Adelaide v North Melbourne, Adelaide Oval (2.10pm)

EMG Lachlan Hansen, Ryan Clarke, Trent Dumont
Cameron Zurhaar
Trent Dumont (Omitted)
Cameron Zurhaar
MILESTONES: Robbie Tarrant – Playing 100th game, Daniel Nielson – Played 1st game

Shags’ Watchlist

Another debut for the Roos Cameron Zurhaar (Fwd $150,000) gets his chance this week. He plays a mid forward kind of role which is always good potentially for Fantasy stats. Beware the issue with North rotating its rookies, so his Job Security is very shaky.

Gold Coast Suns v Collingwood, Metricon Stadium (4.35pm)

B Jarrod Harbrow, Rory Thompson, Pearce Hanley
HB Trent McKenzie, Steven May, Adam Saad
C Michael Rischitelli, Gary Ablett, Matt Rosa
HF Jarryd Lyons, Tom J. Lynch, Callum Ah Chee

Mason Cox (Omitted), Josh Smith (Omitted), Tim Broomhead (Omitted), Levi Greenwood (Suspension)
MILESTONES: Daniel Wells – Playing 250th game, Jarryd Blair – Playing 150th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Veteran Suns player Michael Rischitelli (Mid $447,000) is finally back after a very serious knee injury that required a reconstruction. As such you wouldn’t jump on this week. However he has been Fantasy relevant in the past, and he is all class as a Football player, and if he does come out and play like his form in the past, he is relatively cheap. One to chuck on your watchlist as a Mid premo cheapy.

GWS Giants v Sydney Swans, Spotless Stadium (7.25pm)

B Nathan Wilson, Aidan Corr, Nick Haynes
HB Adam Tomlinson, Phil Davis, Heath Shaw
C Lachie Whitfield, Callan Ward, Matt de Boer
HF Devon Smith, Rory Lobb, Jeremy Cameron
F Dylan Shiel, Jonathon Patton, Steve Johnson
FOL Shane Mumford, Matthew Kennedy, Tom Scully
I/C Toby Greene, Harry Perryman, Josh Kelly, Zac Williams
EMG Will Setterfield, Tendai Mzungu, Dawson Simpson
Steve Johnson, Toby Greene, Zac Williams
Sam J. Reid (Ankle), Tendai Mzungu (Omitted), Daniel Lloyd (Omitted)
MILESTONES: Aidan Corr – Playing 50th game

B Nic Newman, Heath Grundy, Nick Smith
HB Jake Lloyd, Dane Rampe, Zak Jones
C Isaac Heeney, Josh P. Kennedy, Callum Mills
HF Gary Rohan, Lance Franklin, George Hewett
F Dean Towers, Sam Reid, Kieren Jack

I/C Jarrad McVeigh, Lewis Melican, Tom Papley, Daniel Robinson
EMG Oliver Florent, Will Hayward, Jeremy Laidler
Josh P. Kennedy
Oliver Florent (Omitted)
MILESTONES: Isaac Heeney – Playing 50th game

Shags’ Watchlist

If you started Luke Parker (Mid $565,000) like many of the swans players, you’d have been disappointed. But swans are back in the 8, and one of the big reasons is players like Parker who started poor have been lifting. Three tonnes on the trot, one being a huge 148, if Parker is going to continue scoring like this, he is definitely underpriced.

Melbourne v Adelaide Crows, TIO Stadium — Darwin (7.40pm)

B Michael Hibberd, Oscar McDonald, Neville Jetta
HB Josh Wagner, Sam Frost, Bernie Vince
C Alex Neal-Bullen, Jordan Lewis, Mitch Hannan
HF Christian Petracca, Tom McDonald, Jayden Hunt
F Jeff Garlett, Jesse Hogan, Cameron Pedersen
FOL Max Gawn, Clayton Oliver, Jake Melksham
I/C Dean Kent, Jay Kennedy-Harris, James Harmes, Joel Smith
EMG Jack Trengove, Billy Stretch, Sam Weideman
Jay Kennedy-Harris
Billy Stretch (Omitted)

B Rory Laird, Jake Lever, Andy Otten
HB Luke Brown, Daniel Talia, Jake Kelly
C Rory Sloane, Richard Douglas, Brodie Smith
HF Riley Knight, Taylor Walker, Charlie Cameron
F Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins, Mitch McGovern
FOL Sam Jacobs, Matt Crouch, Brad Crouch
I/C David Mackay, Hugh Greenwood, Rory Atkins, Tom Lynch
EMG Jonathon Beech, Jordan Gallucci, Paul Seedsman
Hugh Greenwood, Tom Lynch
Wayne Milera (Calf), Scott Thompson (Omitted)

Shags’ Watchlist

Jay Kennedy-Harris (Mid/Fwd $195,000) gets another run for the Dees. Clearly his Job Security is shaky, however signs in the VFL are that he can really win the footy, with a couple of 40+ possession games! This doesn’t always translate to the AFL field, and his last 2 scores of 27 and 42 aren’t that impressive. However if he can keep a spot in the team, he has great potential as a cashcow.

Sunday July 16

Richmond v Brisbane Lions, Etihad Stadium (1.10pm)

B Jayden Short, Alex Rance, Dylan Grimes
HB Brandon Ellis, David Astbury, Nick Vlastuin
C Shane Edwards, Trent Cotchin, Shaun Grigg

I/C Dion Prestia, Kamdyn McIntosh, Connor Menadue, Anthony Miles, Shai Bolton, Nathan Broad, Ivan Soldo (Three to be omitted)
Nick Vlastuin, Anthony Miles, Shai Bolton, Nathan Broad, Ivan Soldo
Taylor Hunt (Omitted), Tyson Stengle (Omitted)

B Josh Walker, Harris Andrews, Daniel Rich
HB Sam Mayes, Tom Cutler, Alex Witherden
C Hugh McCluggage, Dayne Zorko, Jarrod Berry

F Ben Keays, Eric Hipwood, Josh Schache

Ben Keays, Josh Schache, Cedric Cox, Michael Close, Jacob Allison, Jake Barrett
Rohan Bewick (Omitted), Archie Smith (Omitted), Matthew Hammelmann (Omitted)
Jacob Allison

Shags’ Watchlist

At the start of the season, it looked like Kane Lambert (Fwd $538,000) was barely top 22 for the tiges.
But just throwing it out there, his last 5 games have been amazing, averaging 111.8 with a high of 147, his role all of a sudden seems conducive to scoring in Fantasy. It would be a bold coach to grab him, and I must admit that this screams fools gold to me, but he has definitely done enough to earn a watchlist for me, especially since forward premiums are all over the shop this year.

Just realised I didnt have the new Pig potential in Dayne Zorko (Mid $668,000) on my watchlist, which is a glaring omission. 181. say no more. Averging 121.1 for the year. Only downside is he has avery low floor, with a score of 45. If you consider that an outlier, jump on board the Zorko train.

Carlton v Western Bulldogs, MCG (3.20pm)

B Ciaran Byrne, Liam Jones, Lachie Plowman
HB Sam Docherty, Jacob Weitering, Dale Thomas
C Kade Simpson, Bryce Gibbs, Jed Lamb

Shane Biggs, Lewis Young, Robert Murphy, Declan Hamilton, Tory Dickson, Bailey Williams
Clay Smith (Omitted), Matthew Boyd (Achilles), Easton Wood (Suspension)
Lewis Young, Declan Hamilton

Shags’ Watchlist

Reports are that Lewis Young (Fwd $154,000) is an almost certainty to debut for the dogs on Sunday. Another one of those really tall former basketball draftees, he was a draft standout. With Easton Wood only out for a week however its going to take an amazing performance to hold a spot in the team. Make sure you check Sunday Extended bench selections

Fremantle v West Coast Eagles, Subiaco Oval (4.40pm)

B Luke Ryan, Joel Hamling, Lee Spurr
HB Ethan Hughes, Michael Johnson, Connor Blakely

Malcolm Karpany (Quad), Eric Mackenzie (Hamstring), Sharrod Wellingham (Omitted)
MILESTONES: Elliot Yeo – Playing 100th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Ryan Nyhuis (Def $168,000) was the toast of freo after his 4 goal haul last week including the games clutch goal. Surely after that game Freo will give him another chance this week. Only 67 points after 4 goals, and traditionally a lockdown defender, is a bit of a concern, but if he is named again that is a good sign for his Job Security. Make sure you check Sunday extended bench selection 5pm Friday.
