Sunday Extended bench selections are in! Check for Late changes Crows vs Eagles ~7pm tonight

5:15 pm Friday 26/08/2016

Sunday extended bench selections are in! New debut for saints with Brandon White (Def $156,000 AF $121,300 DT), and Jack Fitzpatrick (Def/Fwd) gets a go for the hawks. Stef Martin owners can be relieved that neither Archie Smith or Trent West made the cut, although the fact both are named as emergencies make a few people jittery. Jarred Jansen didnt make the cut, and Jade Gresham is rested.

6:30pm Thursday 25/08/2016

Final round of the home and away season, and much anticipated teamsheets are in! If you actually made any Grand finals that is. Congratulations to all who made it this far! We already knew Sloane was out with suspension, and Brodie Smith, Nic Nat are injured, so you need to cover if you have them. As for cover, you wont be relying on Sam Collins, Callum Mills, Jackson Paine, Connor Menadue(seriously anyone still have him?) who are all out. Jimmy Bartel is back as you would have expected, as is Sam Kerridge., and rookie Jack Silvagni (Fwd) is in. A few cheap rookie options in if you need the cash grab, Mabior Chol (Ruck/Fwd $125,000 AF $105,800 DT) debuts for tigers, we see Nick Kommer (Fwd/Mid $136,000 AF $128,200 DT), remember him? actually get a game for the bombers, and two youngsters blooded at port Riley Bonner (Def $158,000 AF $121,300 DT) and William Snelling (Mid $125,000 AF $119,300 DT)

Shags’ Watchlist

Grand Final YOLO time, the one week where trading in a risky midpricer isnt as risky. You dont need them next week, just this week. Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Mid $380,000 AF $394,200 DT) got a handy 90 the one week he has played, and is in for Sloane so he should get more mid time. If cash only allows you to get a midpricer in, you could take a punt.

Shags’ Watchlist

If you dont quite have the cash for an uber premium, and perhaps you are sideways an injury or fallen premium, you might consider a player like Mitch Duncan (Mid $466,000 AF $483,300 DT) who is a bit hit and miss, but certainly has a high ceiling, and also the sort of player they might let loose in the final game of the season.

Shags’ Watchlist

Been in stellar form. Check. 5 round average of 119.6. Check. Plays bunnies in the bombers this week. Check. Is young and has nothing else to play for but pride this week. Check.
There are no two words Patrick Cripps (Mid $528,000 AF $ 561,200 DT) is a gun. I daresay he will be in many teams start of next season as well.

Shags’ Watchlist

Another Sudanese player to debut this season, and another rookie blooded for the Tigers, you would trade in Mabior Chol (Ruck/Fwd $125,000 AF $105,800 DT) to make cash and his DPP status very handy. Also a sneak preview for next years comp.

Gold Coast Suns v Port Adelaide at Metricon Stadium (7:25pm EST)

nnn hhh

Double Debut for Port this week with both Riley Bonner (Def $158,000 AF $121,300 DT) and William Snelling (Mid $125,000 AF $119,300 DT) giving us cheap downgrades in mid and def, and a bit of a 2017 season rookie sneak peak.

FOL Shane Mumford, Callan Ward, Tom Scully
I/C Toby Greene, Lachie Whitfield, Stephen Coniglio, Joel Patfull
EMG Jack Steele, James Stewart, Adam Kennedy
No Change

Shags’ Watchlist

I still dont see Stephen Coniglio (Mid $519,000 AF $539,900 DT) in many teams with only 4.59%, and Im not 100% sure why. The GWS mids are a mixed bag, but Coniglio has been the most consistent. he did have a poor 77 last week but tonned 5 times consecutively before. Could be a great POD for you in your Grand Final.

Sunday August 28

St Kilda v Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium (1:10pm)

F Ryan Lester, Josh Walker, Dayne Zorko

I/C Ryan Bastinac, Trent West, Jarrad Jansen, Josh Clayton, Liam Dawson, Rhys Mathieson, Archie Smith (Three to be omitted)
Trent West, Jarrad Jansen, Liam Dawson, Archie Smith
Jackson Paine (Shin)
MILESTONES: Daniel Merrett – Playing 200th game, Josh Clayton – Played 1st game

Shags’ Watchlist

Sebastian Ross (Mid $469,000 AF $495,800 DT) has had a breakout season this year, although somewhat erratic with some low scores, his ceiling is huge. Being a bit cheaper than an uber premium player, and he is playing Brissy, coming off a 132 to boot, hes as good as any to take a punt as a POD in a Grandfinal.

Hawthorn v Collingwood at MCG (3:20pm)

B Taylor Duryea, James Frawley, Shaun Burgoyne
HB Luke Hodge, Josh Gibson, Grant Birchall
C Isaac Smith, Sam Mitchell, Bradley Hill

Jonathon Ceglar (Knee), Kaiden Brand (Omitted)
Jack Fitzpatrick

B Brayden Maynard, Nathan J. Brown, Marley Williams
HB Josh Smith, Jeremy Howe, Tom Phillips
C Steele Sidebottom, Adam Treloar, James Aish
HF Rupert Wills, Travis Cloke, Travis Varcoe
F Jordan De Goey, Jesse White, Ben Crocker
FOL Brodie Grundy, Scott Pendlebury, Jack Crisp
I/C Tyson Goldsack, Jarryd Blair, Jonathon Marsh, Levi Greenwood
EMG Brent Macaffer, Jarrod Witts, Adam Oxley
Travis Cloke, Tyson Goldsack
Darcy Moore (Hamstring), Adam Oxley (Omitted)

Shags’ Watchlist

Brodie Grundy (Ruck $541,000 AF $568,800 DT) has been in amazing form, coming off a spate of high tonnes. If your Ruck is your weak area that you need to fix for your grand final, look no further. Should perform well against the hawks deficient ruck division.

Fremantle v Western Bulldogs at Domain Stadium (4:40pm)

B Tommy Sheridan, Zac Dawson, Lee Spurr
HB Garrick Ibbotson, Alex Silvagni, Danyle Pearce
C Michael Walters, Stephen Hill, Ed Langdon
HF Shane Yarran, Chris Mayne, Lachie Weller
F Michael Apeness, Matthew Pavlich, Hayden Ballantyne
FOL Aaron Sandilands, David Mundy, Lachie Neale
I/C Darcy Tucker, Connor Blakely, Cameron Sutcliffe, Matt de Boer
EMG Jonathon Griffin, Tendai Mzungu, Matt Taberner
Zac Dawson, Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands, Matt de Boer
Matt Taberner (Omitted), Jonathon Griffin (Omitted), Sam Collins (Omitted), Zac Clarke (Omitted)

B Shane Biggs, Fletcher Roberts, Dale Morris
HB Jason Johannisen, Joel Hamling, Matthew Boyd
C Lachie Hunter, Marcus Bontempelli, Liam Picken
HF Lin Jong, Zaine Cordy, Clay Smith
F Tom Boyd, Tory Dickson, Caleb Daniel
FOL Will Minson, Luke Dahlhaus, Josh Dunkley
I/C Matthew Suckling, Nathan Hrovat, Koby Stevens, Bailey Williams
EMG Tom Campbell, Toby McLean, Lukas Webb
Dale Morris, Will Minson, Matthew Suckling, Koby Stevens, Bailey Williams
Jordan Roughead (Calf), Lukas Webb (Omitted), Roarke Smith (Omitted), Easton Wood (Ankle), Toby McLean (Omitted)

Shags’ Watchlist

Seems to have settled in well back from injury, his 144 last week makes Jason Johannisen (Def $446,000 AF $467,000 DT) a very popular trade in, and playing another easy match against Fremantle (I still find that strange) he should score well again this week. If your backline needs fixing, hes a great option.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. Twitter@Shagbaggers ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.

Dont forget the Elite loophole, eg leave harbrow on field and have one bench midfielder (or other position) take his spot.

        August 25, 2016 at 7:05 pm

Im doing that with Armitage, who is on my bench and seems to either get a tonne or a 50, and if he scores well, I will take his score instead of one of my hawks defenders (last game of round, I have Gibson, Birchal and Whitex).

With Brisbane looking likely to play a 2nd ruck what is the better trade?

    Stef to Grundy
Titch to Neale? Cheers legends, good luck in your GF’s

    • Avatar

      August 25, 2016 at 7:01 pm

Yeah I’d go Stef to Grundy all the way, Grundy is in amazing form. Titch could easily smash out a good score, so could Stef, but on paper he is a bigger concern.

    • Avatar

      August 25, 2016 at 7:39 pm

In the same situation with Titch and Stef. Stef hadn’t scored over 90 all season when there’s been a 2nd ruck and id dare Grundy will go 120-130 now that Ceglar is out for Hawthorn. Titch has been poor lately but is due for a big one. I’d feel more confident that Grundy will outscore Stef than Neale out scoring Titch

I’m a bit worried about Greene, though.

      August 25, 2016 at 8:30 pm

depend sif the other problems in your team are a good chance off getting a score around 60, which is what stef gets when he is partnered in the ruck. If they are not going to get a score of 60, then trade stef, if they can get a score of 60, then loook at who’s repacement will score more.

    2 – Grundy, JJ, Hanley.
