AFL Teams 2016: Round 20

No late changes to tonights match. Good luck!

5:15pm Friday 05/08/2016

Sunday bench selections are in. Elliot Yeo, Aaron Sandilands, Scott Selwood, James Kelly all confirmed to play. Players that didnt make the cut are, Tom Ruggles, Lincoln McCarthy, Will Hams, Orazio Fantasia, ), Liam Sumner.

6:30pm Thursday 04/08/2016

Round 20 Teams are out! We already knew about big injuries to Sam Jacobs, Tom Liberatore, Jack Macrae with further woes for some with Scott Thompson being rested. Many (like myself) are in further ruck trouble also with Stef martin not being an inclusion. Mason Cox (Ruck) may cover somewhat, and some might take a chance on ruck rookie debut Reilly O’Brien (Ruck $125,000 AF $121,300 DT). Matthew Boyd is back from a rest as is James Kelly for dons. Some interesting inclusions with Aaron Sandilands back for Freo, and Scott Selwood making his debut for the cats. He is interestingly priced.

houli
He was frustrating for owners before his injury, but he was still looking to be a possible top def premo with his huge ceiling, Bachar Houli (Def $459,000 be 104 AF $478,500 be 122 DT) made a solid 103 return from injury, and could be a last upgrade POD option or a sideways of a under performer option, and I think hes a chance to rack p the points against the pies this week.

gawn
Congratulations those who started Max Gawn (Ruck $546,000 be 122 AF $569,400 be 108 DT) not only is he a top ruck, he is one of the few who is actually playing in the finals, and with Goldstein in poor form, looks like Gawn will be the best ruck to have for the finals. Having both Stef and Jacobs, looks like Im grabbing him this week. Better late than never.

mummy
With many flustered over ruck carnage, a cheap option could be Shane Mumford (Ruck $434,000 AF be 81 $453,800 DT be 66) who has had an up and down season, but could go huge against the suns this week. For those who cant afford a better option.

I know I told everyone to get Gawn, but then again I didnt realise how cheap Todd Goldstein (Ruck $463,000 be 108 AF $472,800 be 111 DT) had become. He has been low on form recently, but this is Goldi, he has the potential to monster the Dogs.

obrien
Oh it appears I have been very ruckcentric with my watchlist this week (Did I mention I have Stef and Jacobs). A different strategy option with a rookie option of Reilly O’Brien (Ruck $125,000 AF $121,300 DT) who has a good chance of playing a few games if not rest of home and away season with Jacobs out with his Ankle injury. Maybe you are hopeful Stef Martin will be back next week. Maybe you need the cash to deal with other carnage. Maybe you play a certain win in the finals this week and want to cash up. A few reasons why you’d consider this as an option. Either that or you just want to cull a bench ruck rookie.

The other rookie ruck option of course is Archie Smith (Ruck $154,000 AF $121,300 DT). Essentially you are banking on who will come bac first between Stef and Jacobs.

cripps
Its finals time, and sometimes due to lack of funds we have to take a punt on a slightly cheaper than uber premium options. A player who has a 3 game average of 115.7 and under some radars is Patrick Cripps (Mid $482,000 be 69 AF $517,600 be 65 DT) definitely a star of the future, you wouldnt be judged to harshly if you grabbed him on a punt over the finals as his current form is great.

One of my easiest watchlist players for the year. Better late than never Scott Selwood (Mid $326,000 AF $341,000 DT) finally debuts for the cats, and is definitely interestingly priced. It will be fascinating to see what role he plays at cats, even if just to watch for next year! He definitely is potentially underpriced for what a player of his calibre can do. Some may even sideways a plump cashcow this week for bench cover or in a desperate ploy to maximise points on field.

sandi
Almost entirely on my watchlist for nostalgic reasons, I really hope big man Aaron Sandilands (Ruck $432,000 AF $508,500 DT) has a good return from injury. Many argue his absence is the main reason for Freos terrible season. Some may trade him in as a Hail Mary POD with all the ruck carnage going around.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter @shagbags2023 ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.
