A Giant Preseason

Griff talks with Lachie Whitfield, Kristian Jaksch, Adam Kennedy & Toby Greene about how the Giants preseason has gone.

toby

Finally the NAB has rolled around. Footy’s back; and just in time!

It seems as if every day since December a new name from a different club is having the best preseason, is burning up the track, or ready to take the ‘next step’. Journalists have been pumping out articles for months based on what ‘insiders’ at clubs have seen, what ‘unnamed sources’ have implied, or passing comments from coaches. With so much names being dropped, how do you know who’s really burning up the track, and who is impressing their team mates? Go to the source!

Recently I had the chance to catch up with some of the GWS Giants players in Sydney. A big thanks to the GWS Giants and especially to Lachie Whitfield, Kristian JakschAdam Kennedy & Toby Greene who kindly donated Dream Team Talk some time to talk shop; season 2013 and Dream Team.

Watch below as we talk who are the real stand-outs are on the track, how their individual preseasons are going, who they would look at picking, and why you should, or should not pick them.

I’m a bit puzzled. He isn’t in their 34 selected for this weekend, but played the intra last week and did okay. Could be early player management to give other blokes a spot. Hopefully we see him in the next two full games to get a better idea, but may be a late decision come round one lockout.

Yeah I reckon Varcoe (more upside than Byrnes. We already know what he is capable of, which is a solid 85 average at most, but I believe Varcoe hasn’t reached his ceiling average in the time he has been in the system as of yet) and Wright, who burnt up his first 2 NAB games.

Griff, great interviews. Thought the players were really honest which really helps when you’re looking at potential DT players. I’m looking at Jeremy Cameron as one of 3 mid-pricers again this year. Thanks!
