I hear ya Adzman i’m in the same boat, It would probably be fair to say C.Richardson will sitting on the sidelines again? I’d love to get rid of the underacheiver but cant justify the trade at the moment.

biggest dud pick of the year is c richardson. He is just a try hard version of matthew richardson. Well I guess he lives up to the same name seeing as richo was a bit of a hack in his day

If I only have 6 trades left and 3 trades are reserved for upgrades and sideways trades during finals, should I save these last few trades and play Z Smith as my 2nd ruck or free up cash (Darling to Lobbe/Callinan) in order to get a premium 2nd ruck (Z Smith up to McEvoy)

Fisher this week or Greggy B next week for Otten? It hurts because I traded out Broughton to Adcock when he was struggling. That would leave $350,000 for a Knights upgrade next week so I’m hoping Fyfe, Pavlich or LeCras miraculously drops to that amount

if you’ve got Petrie I’d definately do the lobbe trade., but not if you plan on making him your 2nd ruckman. Word is he hasn’t been much chop in the sanfl so don’t expect him to keep pumping out those 90+ scores. And agree with the hodge trade being a big no no. With 9 trades left I’m sure you have some decent upgrades that still need to be done. Hodge is capable of huge scores as well don’t forget.

Having a bet with a mate on who can make the best team just for this rounds scoring, team so far:

DEF: Scotland, Deledio, Suckling, Fisher, Goddard, Heppell, Stanley
MID: Boyd, Pendlebury, Mitchell, Ablett, Swan, D.Swallow
    RUC: Mumford, Lobbe
FWD: ROK, Goodes, Chapman, Higgins, LeCras, Dahlhaus, Karnezis (BRIS, $122500, ave 54.33)

Note: No bench players are mentioned as they are all $80000ers and Dahlhaus and Karnezis are a problem.
    Thoughts?

What do you mean? That’s why you should be getting them! All the bargain priced players. Piss Pendles off! He’s about full priced and you already have Ablett at top dollar (who you’d keep for captain). Swan, Boyd and Monty all underpriced.

This is probably a bad idea and I probably won’t do it BUT it tempts me:
Best Team: Backs: Gibbs Delidio Goddard Fisher Suckling Adcock Stanley (Lower Puopolo Hibberd)
Mids: Swan Ablett Boyd Mitchell Murphy Bartel (Mzungu Prestia Jacobs)
Rucks: Cox Smith (J Tippett Mccauley)
Forwards: Sylvia Franklin O’keefe Goodes Petrie Chapman N Reivoldt (Lynch Knights Howe)
    5 trades 101.9k
My idea was to trade knights to calli this week and then next week puopolo/lower to broughhton and lynch/howe to the pav.
This leaves me with a full team and mzungu howe/lynch stanley lower and Z Smith as cover but only with 2 trades.
    Any thoughts would be good.
As I’m mainly going for a league win, I might not do thesse trades and do a similar strategy with different players later on in the season if I’ve had no LTI’s.

Who knows if McEvoy will have the same prodigious DT scoring now Gardiner is back…PASS on that trade for now.
I personally think either Stevie J, ROK or Travis Cloke are far better options than Goodes, Now that Kieran Jack is back, Goodesy will no doubt be shunted forward again- which really buggers up his scoring.

          July 7, 2011 at 8:27 pm

I’ve got ROK and Stevie J, if I got Cloke I wouldn’t be able to get McEvoy. I’ve only got 6 trades left, so can’t really afford to double trade to get a ruckman other than a player who I can single trade 4. If i do there 2 trades then I would only have 1 more spot to upgrade, but will hold off for a while to save trades.

If I only have 6 trades left and 3 trades are reserved for upgrades and sideways trades during finals, should I save these last few trades and play Z Smith as my 2nd ruck or free up cash (Darling to Lobbe/Callinan) in order to get a premium 2nd ruck (Z Smith up to McEvoy)?

Do you have Petrie? If you do I’d recommend the DPP link with Lobbe & banking some cash…

If not… it’s hard. Every trade counts now, and you’ll be pissed off if you need trades but can’t do them in the finals. Imagine a ‘rested’ Gablett or Goddard or something in the last week from those teams who are playing for draft picks. It happens, and it’ll kill you seeing all that cash on the pine. I’d say don’t trade with 6 left in this case.

Hi Guys! I REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALY need your help:
    I’m going for league win
Option 1…..Should I cop a doughnut in my FORWARD and save a trade…..NOTE: No leagues this week
Option 2……Or should I trade Howe to Lobbe in forward line to save a doughnut????? NOTE: Howe still has lots to rise
    Forward atm:

Franklin, Goodes, SJohnson, SYLVIA, Riewoldt, Lynch, I Smith,,,,( Didak, Mzungu, Howe )

    Unfortunately, no DPP! :(

I hate to say it, but going for Option 1

P.S If I do Lobbe then I will only have 3 Trades left for Finals and/or Injurys…..

    Thoughts????

    Cheers

What is the point of trading a guy who is yet to peak on a multi bye with no league games when u are going for overall.

My strongest team is as follows with 6 trades and 116k in the bank.

Def: Gibbs, Deledio, Shaw, Goddard, Broughton, Adcock, Lower (Hibberd, Jacobs, Golby)
Mid: Pendles, Swan, Boyd, Dal Santo, Hodge, Bartel (Mzungu, Prestia, Callinan)
    Ruck: Cox, Petrie (Zsmith, Derickx)
Forward: Stevie, Chappy, Fyfe, Buddy, Goodes, Sylvia, Didak (I. Smith, Richardson, J.Tipp)

Well my league is pretty crap and I’m currently top by 8 points so I shouldn’t need to play that week. Plus I think guys like the Gu and I.Smith are good enough cover if forced to play. Not gonna burn trades on stevie and chappy out then back in during finals if that is what ur suggesting

You wouldn’t go out and back in trades, only sideways, just like the boys were talking about tonight on the show. Other than that your team looks solid, perhaps look to upgrade Lower and Didak and leave 4 trades for finals/LTIs

Thanks.. Yeah i know but If i sideways then I lose them for the prelim and gf of finals. Was thinking that If i strengthened the team now.. i.e bring in another prem forward and leave dids as cover for mid/fwd then the geelong bye will be better covered if I need to play it which is unlikely and I will still be able to keep the cats.

What are people’s thoughts on Nahas. He showed some great form earlier in the season but then went quiet for a bit resulting in him now being pretty cheap at 323 thousand. Very unique and and something a little cheaper than forking out for Cloke etc. Also showed a bit of form last week tonning up when Tiges got smashed by 100+

That’s a pretty good team man, well done.

Tough question I reckon… I think I will hold onto Lower, reckon Freo will be pretty motivated toward the end of the season. If I was gonna do it, I reckon it would be for Hibberd, with his Rd 24 bye and all, plus he looks fairly fattened as a cow.

According to Freako Suckling should stay around the same price this week, and Birchall may drop a touch – definitely good guys to get in I’d say – playing great footy and a good run home.

Flicking Smith gives you around $170K that could be used to do any other upgrades you want… you’ll be well cashed up.

You’re in a good position, but 4 trades is a little light. Perhaps hold a week on the Birchall trade and take Smith’s cash?? But yeah tough call I reckon after all that…

Don’t think I helped you much, but would you mind taking a look at my little problem below?? Cheers mate, be good to get an opinion.

Need your help my wizened DT friends…. got 8 trades left and $15K

My rucks consist of Cox, Zmith, Petrie & Sandi with Hale in the FWD line to swap with Petrie.

Should I downgrade Sandi to Lobbe before the price rise?? – got ample cover, but I’m really about putting the best team on the screen come finals time. I could sell off Hale in the future and swing Lobbe with Petrie… but would need to cash Hale in whilst in the RUCKS for a cheapie.

I reckon I am two upgrades short in my FWD line and one or two short in the BACKS… mids are fine.

    Questions…

    1. Is cash more valuable than trades to me?
    2. Will Sandi regain form towards the pointy end of the season? (I bet Freo will do all they can to get him right for finals)
    3. Am I better off putting my trades towards upgrades in the FWDS and BACKS instead? Will that net me more points?

    Cheers fellas, really appreciate it….

Get rid of Sandilands (no point holding – especially with Z. Smith as a back up). Trade him for Lobbe. Use the cash to upgrade B. Smith to Fisher or another quality defender.

I’d be doing the Sandi to Lobbe trade YESTERDAY!! Thats too much $$ just sitting on your pine and you won’t get a cheaper and better repacement for sandi than Lobbe. Gives you even more flexibilty with Hale and Petrie as DPP’s too and its only 1 trade. Then use the money to upgrade your duds, leaving your backline to last IMO as a “harris to gaz” trade or “knights to pav” is far more devastating than a “lower to shaw”

guys one upgrade to go. the last onfield spot in backs and forwards is between:

    B: Heppell/Hibberd/Lower/Otten
    F: Darling/Knights/Mzungu/ I Smith

obviously the 3 that arent on the field each week make up the bench with the rest on the field premiums

so which do u reckon should be my upgrade priority? money not an issue, plenty in the bank. thinking either knights or darling > petrie for DPP with Lobbe in rucks or hibberd > a defender premium i dont have like fisher/broughton/enright and put heppell as first bench spot.

thanks in advance for any ideas, cheers guys.

my best team at the moment currently looks like this:

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Suckling, Birchall, Rawlings, Heppell
    (Hibberd, Talia, Toy)

Mids: Swan, Pendlebury, Ablett, Boyd, Bartel, Dal Santo
    (Jacobs, Prestia, Green)

    Rucks: Cox, Petrie
    (Smith, McCauley)

Forwards: Chapman, Johnson, Goodes, Sylvia, Higgins, Rioli, Riewoldt
    (Mzungu, Lobbe, Harper)

i have 4 trades left (already double traded this round) and 24k in the bank

now here lies my problem.. i am currently 10th on the ladder in my “important” league and it looks like i could well miss finals, i am also currently ranked a lowly 8336 so overall isn’t much of an option either. quite frankly i can not see the point in continuing to play dream team any further this season, but obviously i’ve made it this far so there is not point on giving up now. is it worth just burning my last 4 trades in the next 2 weeks and get it over and done with, or should i tough it out try and make something of what looks like a year well wasted :)

    Couple of quick ones…

One of Puopolo (v Lions), Adcock (v Hawthorn) or Hibberd (v Tigers) on the field? Leaning towards Poo.

Play Smith (v Sydney) or Bailey (v Lions) in the rucks? Leaning towards Smith.
