Rance TOG 100% – is that right? No wonder he’s averaged 88 points over the last 3 matches. Sounds like a good trade for Grimes.

So what happens when he starts getting interchanged? Only getting 0.69 PPM, not good enough.

Being a KPP, Rance will spend more time on the ground than most. I think he also played on the wing in the WAFL so he has a big motor. And as Richmonds tall defender stocks are so limited and Rance is playing so well, I don’t see any reason for Dimma to start reducing Rance’s TOG now. If he can produce numbers in the 70 – 90’s for the rest of the year, he is a steal at $264k. I could be wrong but I’m fukd if I’m gonna spend top dollar on a back that produces scores little more than most of my rookie backs.

To be honest, this years rave’s have not lived up to the standards of previous years.
Under the teams the only thing freako says is who got injured or who has scored well, with the occasional tip.
I don’t like to hate on people but thats my opinion

The old Freako chesnut isn’t giving away a whole lot this year. He gave no real reasoning on why he would take Lids/Rawlings/Fisher over say Enright (for Grimes). The table he has put up doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

    Are these BEs right?

Mundy is 96 on Assistant Coach but up at 115-120 on Freako?

The BE’s for Freako are a fair bit off. The only accurate ones are assistant coach – I think this is due to the magic number changing and only vitual sports knowing what it is. All other sites have to guess

Thinking of Rance as a trade for Grimes….

He averages slightly more and is $40 odd thousand less. Noticed he gets 100% game time but has missed a few this year.

Given I support the Crows I don’t know much about Rance.

what are peoples opinions on trading for Grimes and is Rance injury prone, poor job security etc??

I’m deciding between Adcock (upgrade), Murphy. R (sideways), Rance (sideways)

have $216,000 in the Kitty but don’t want to spend too much just yet.

I hadn’t really considered him but you make a very valid point Anthony.

I am currently tossing up between Rawlings and Enright but for 85k less Rance is definitely worth a look.

Although he still has 2 byes to come.

      You have got me thinking….

He’s a dark horse for sure. I’ve been keeping an eye on him but till now haven’t had any reason to trade him in. He’s been suspended a bit this year, but the numbers he’s churning out don’t lie. My rationale is he’s going to see a fair bit of the footy playing in Richmond’s defence, but unlikely to get a tag unlike his main competitor from Richmond down back, Deledio. So he’s a punt, but at least if it doesn’t pay off you’ve not broken the bank. Unlike the Broughton, Duffield, Goddard, Connors and Grimey of 2011…

I think James Fantasia was talking about it on Monday. He said that he won’t play and that they were being conservative with him. Hope he plays though…

Rance is a lock in our 22, our best performing defender so far this year. No real injury history to worry about and is from the same draft as Cotch (pick 18), so he’s had a couple of years in the system now. Reads the ball well from the opposition and has a handy kick coming out of defense that we don’t mind using.

Some concerns that he is not the greatest decision maker but he is ironing out the kinks in his game and that is somewhat irrelevant to DT anyway as his job security is great.

Don’t see his role changing, plays full back but we use him out of the backline and the Tiges seem to enjoy a switch or two as well as a bit of messing around and Rance is normally back there getting his hands on the ball. Astbury and Moore are the other defenders that are a similar size to Rance. Astbury is getting some confidence in the 2s and he plays as a higher defender anyway. Moore will come into our back 6 but has a hip injury and is listed as TBA on the injury list – I think he is still a while away and it is doubtful that he will take any of Rance’s kicks, if anything he may release Rance more.

Still a risky pick due to his lack of DT scoring history, but has shown some consistency over the last 3 weeks that alot of proven performers have not at a sub 300k price.

Freako recommends buying Chappie this week. With a BE of 134 I would disagree.

      May 11, 2011 at 11:01 pm

Oh my god, break evens aren’t everything… if he scores 110+ (Which he will) He will hardly drop at all and you would have missed out on a premium score which your sub par rookie you are playing on your field instead will not get close to. If you can do the trade, get in Chappy.

      • Avatar

        May 12, 2011 at 3:07 am

Yes, break evens aren’t everything – but the basic rule of DT is sell high, buy low. If Chappie drops $10k and the rookie goes up $20k, then you have done yourself out of a wad of cash that could be used for another upgrade.

Lots jumped on Chappie last week and gave him the big C. They immediately lost $9.5k, fifty or so points for the wrong captain, and maybe a league win or two.

It’s good to have all the premiums, but there is a time a place to pick each one up. The top ranked team doesn’t have Sandi, the second team doesn’t have Chappie, the third team has both.

If you need a premium and have the cash, you pick one with a low or midrange breakeven. This week I would be going for Sylvia, Dal Santo, or Selwood if you don’t already own them. Sylvia has the same average as Chappie but is $35k cheaper.

We all love Chappie, but you need to think outside the box and buy smart. Neither you or I are going to win the car so jump on the premiums at a low price and then smash your league opponent.

    Ben Jacobs from Port.

Is a gun from the sounds of things and will play this week or next.

And looking into a crystal ball, seemingly much better job security then the Poo or Peterfile.
