Dean Cox: Deck Of Dream Team 2011

It’s New Years Eve… and Santa is on the roof… oh wrong one. It’s New Years Eve and many people are looking for a big Cox to put into their… DREAMTEAMS! But after an average 2010, will you risk what this Big Cox might give you in 2011. Ok enough jokes… enjoy!

Name: Dean Cox
Club: West Coast Eagles
Position: Ruck
Bye Rounds: 5 & 15
2010 Average: 84.7
2010 Games Played: 22
Predicted Average: 101

Why should I pick him? Cause he’s a gun and if you miss this one… don’t blame me! Firstly, he is a proven jet and over the years he has averaged massive numbers. In 2007 he averaged 100, then in 2008 and 2009 he averaged 107 and then last year…. he slipped to just 84.7 making him prime for the picking in 2011. He dropped 22pts guys? We gotta seriously be looking at Coxy here. Even in a poor 2010 he had 50% of his games in 90+ area and he played ALL of the 22 games. Coxy is a fighter and obviously played a lot of last year with injuries… he started the year with a 52 and 45, to prove this and just found it tough all year… but, he played all the 22 games! Not bad for a big giant. But how did he end 2010 Calvin? Great question mate… In his last 4 games Coxy had 86, 105, 125 and a dirty 55 in his last. In fact Coxy had a great 2nd half of 2010 where he averaged 93.5 and that was with scores of 37 and a 55 in that!… for the record he averaged 83.6 in the first half.

Why shouldn’t I pick him? He struggled last year! Carrying an injury or not… he still had a poor season. Oh and he’s old… Dean Cox will turn 30 in 2011 and players at that age tend to find injuries more often and take longer recovering.

Deck of DT Rating. KING – Coxy used to be a walk up ACE… but after 2010 he may have slipped into the “King Category” where he will still carry a solid price tag and will be in your starting ruck line up, all year no matter what! Cause if he slips further… you’ll be trading him for who? a bag of chips? Nah… he’s there for good sorry guys, so make sure you know what your doing. For me, at this stage, he’s locked!
