Does anyone know what the story is with David Hille? Has he been reported again or what? Why did he only get 10 on the weekend?

Not too bad mate. just bench him, may only miss 2 weeks with the split round.

      • Grundo

        June 8, 2010 at 5:10 pm

Thats what I’m going to do. Hopefully Hargrave passes his test and then Webberley or Nason can cover Maguire while he is out.

        • eagles_7

          June 8, 2010 at 5:14 pm

I already have kennely on the bench with davis (webberly on the field covering kennelly).

If kennelly doesn’t come up I’m stuffed :-(

This week I was going to do gysberts->howlett and then nicnat->sandi. Might have to go mcguire->goddard or similar if kennelly or davis isn’t fit?

          • papbomber

            June 8, 2010 at 5:17 pm

I am thinking of going Tie Kenneally for a rookie or Goddard, I havent decided who is better value.

I only have 3 trades left. But I scored 2320 last week.

          • random_guy

            June 8, 2010 at 7:09 pm

3 trades left! You dead meat in a few weeks biatch :)

      • sjkabbott

        June 8, 2010 at 5:49 pm

I doubt it… foot injuries are funny things hey usually take longer than a couple of weeks to fix… especially with maguires history…strongly considering upgrading him

        • Kevinf21

          June 8, 2010 at 5:52 pm

I’m keeping him with waters and webberly as cover

          • Ike

            June 8, 2010 at 8:19 pm

Waters as cover?! Get him on your field buddy, he should’ve been starting before Goose anyway!!

  7. papbomber

    June 8, 2010 at 5:04 pm

What’s going on with Tie Kenneally? How come he isnt being selected?

Hey do you guys thing it is worthwhile doing this trade:

Kenneally out for Brendon Goddard in? Or is it sideways?

    • Grundo

      June 8, 2010 at 5:05 pm

You can’t read or spell can you.

MAJOR SIDE WAYS TRADE DON’T DO IT! Keep Kennelly for when he returns in a few weeks. No worth the trade.

      • papbomber

        June 8, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Is it sideways – Kenneally isnt a premium and goddard is a premium

        • Kevinf21

          Goddard u beast

Whats the go with Alex silvagni. will he play this weekend?

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 5:23 pm

I’m not sure. It depends on whether Mark Harvey (Fremantle Coach) picks him I guess. I have this from a reliable sauce.

      • scott23

        June 8, 2010 at 5:25 pm

yeah but is he still carrying his ankle injury?

        • papbomber

          June 8, 2010 at 5:27 pm

Yeah they haven’t confirmed it yet. It will be hard to say.

          • Kevinf21

    • Donk

      June 9, 2010 at 11:17 am

I read that he flew to Adelaide on the weekend, so if they needed him he would have played.

  9. J Mc

    June 8, 2010 at 5:24 pm

I have an injury plagued backline – Gram, Hargrave and Goose.

My Backline is : Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Shaw, Waters, Webberley, and those above.

You reckon just cop the donut this week if Hargrave doesn’t get up? Some of his scores have been as good as a donut anyway.

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 5:28 pm

Injuries cause many of us concern. I also have Hargrave (picked him up when he was cheap which was a good move by me)

I would just use some bench cover (I have plenty – such as Gumbleton)

      • stringer13

        June 8, 2010 at 5:43 pm

If this dude isn’t taking the piss then he’s surely straight out of the nuthouse

          June 8, 2010 at 5:59 pm

He’s either got half a brain or no brain…..Gumbleton a cover for Hargreaves, wtf!!! One’s a defender and the other is a forward, you idiot! Stop posting pretending your an expert!!

          • papbomber

            June 8, 2010 at 6:01 pm

Look up my team and then decide whether or not I am an expert. I do not appreciate your abuse.

Do you know how much I scored last week?

            I am Miss Sha’Nay Nay

Read it and weep. sugnayeragam. I do not respect you as a coach until I have seen your team.

Is shuey to jizzberts worth a trade?

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 5:29 pm

No. Gysberts might not play for the rest of the year and Shuey might play next week after he recovers from his horrible illness. I think you are better off just playing Leigh Montagna for the time beng

      • Kevinf21

        June 8, 2010 at 5:32 pm

        Lol how’d u know I hav Monty

      • Farthers

        June 8, 2010 at 9:04 pm

Hmm, glandular is not a 1-2 week illness, hence why shuey has now been listed as indefinite.

    • mini freo

      June 8, 2010 at 8:02 pm

I’d say yes. I’m no expert but Jizzbert looks the goods and i was watching Fox Sports News and they said he was a certanty to play this weekend but it depends on how many trades you have and what your trying to do

  11. Kevinf21

    June 8, 2010 at 5:36 pm

Is trengove adequate cover for hille until he comes back (his form isn’t that flash)

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 5:41 pm

Yes. His form is good. He will not be a straight replacement (as he plays midfield, whereas Hille is a ruckman) but for a rookie he is scoring well.

      • Hook

        June 8, 2010 at 5:45 pm

    June 8, 2010 at 5:46 pm

Gablett 4 this week or next?

    • Hook

      June 8, 2010 at 5:53 pm

I got Gablett in last week because Geelong vs the Eagles was to tempting
I think at under 500k he is a bargain and would take the opportunity to get him in.
I know he has a b/e of around 140 odd but I don’t think he will drop by a huge margin and you get an extra week of his points.

So I’d say get him in now

      • papbomber

        June 8, 2010 at 5:56 pm

I do not believe in getting Ablett. His longevity is questionable. He always gets rested. Do all of you realise this?

And if you dont believe me – search my team: Miss Sha’Nay Nay. it is better than all your teams, and scored 2320 last week and doesnt have Ablett. So dont get him.

        • Hook

          June 8, 2010 at 6:06 pm

No such team mate, u sure you can spell your own team name?

        • sugnayeragam

          June 8, 2010 at 6:10 pm

I tried searching but it said there was no such team.

            June 8, 2010 at 7:20 pm

Or it might be somebody else’s team he’s looked up…

        • Grundo

          June 8, 2010 at 9:36 pm

Clearly that isn’t your team you complained about Kennelly and thinking of bringing Goddard in, that team has Goddard already. You’ve been lawyered.

  13. Kevinf21

    June 8, 2010 at 5:50 pm

    Waters to cover maguire

    trengove to cover hille

    injuries all fixed :D

    • buck

      June 8, 2010 at 5:54 pm

you had maguire on the field ahead of waters?

      • papbomber

        June 8, 2010 at 5:55 pm

That was not wise. Have you noticed that Waters scored 155 last week and Montagna scored 80? I do not respect you as a coach – you have made some serious errors there.

        • sugnayeragam

          June 8, 2010 at 6:01 pm

And your just a know-it-all that doesn’t no shit!

          • papbomber

            June 8, 2010 at 6:02 pm

I do not appreciate this ABUSE. Please refrain from doing so. If you do not value my opinions (which wouldnt be wise of you to do, but that is your cool) then do not listen. There is no need to be abusive. I do not respect you as a coach.

        • Kevinf21

          June 8, 2010 at 6:02 pm

I think u mean maguire , montagna is an absolute jet

yes I know bad choice last week but with the eagles playing geeeeeelong and brizzy playing north I thought it might work out. Boi was I wrong

          • papbomber

            June 8, 2010 at 6:03 pm

Yes, I did mean Maguire. Silly me. I was rattled by the abuse I copped from sugnayeragam. That was an easy assumption to get wrong. Of course, I had Waters on the ground. Lucky me.

  14. Patto.

    June 8, 2010 at 6:03 pm

Hm..have Phil Davis, Maguireand Hargrave. C’mon Hargrave, need you to pull through for me mate otherwise I’ll get my first donut for the year.

  15. harrync

    June 8, 2010 at 6:04 pm

sigh.. Maguire, syliva, Jpod and Mcleod.. wat to do..
as long as Hitchcock, hargrave and Heath come back in.. i might survive..

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 6:07 pm

Hmmm… McLeod was not a wise choice. He is old and suseptable to injuries. But I can feel sympathetic about the others. Podseadly will be ok, I feel sure of it.

Hargrave is listed as a test. We will see how he goes and comes up later in the week. Lets all cross our fingers for his safe return.

      • harrync

        June 8, 2010 at 6:09 pm

No idea what it is.. but i’ve always had him in my team.. might not score the big 100’s but gets a solid 80 to 90 and i usually upgrade him later..

Hargrave better come back in. bought him only a couple of weeks ago

    June 8, 2010 at 6:04 pm

So, if Grant cant get over his suspension on review who do I trade out? Grant, Grey or Higgens?

    • CrimsonRaven

      June 8, 2010 at 6:07 pm

Thats also assuming Pod’s get up.

    • papbomber

      June 8, 2010 at 6:08 pm

You trade out Grey. I can’t believe you have kept him this long! Are you just trying to make life hard for yourself so when you come from 7th to win the flag you can say “Good on me, I was up against it but I came from 7th to win the flag.”?

      Struth.

    • Kevinf21

      June 8, 2010 at 6:09 pm

      June 8, 2010 at 6:11 pm

ROBBIE GRAY! Higgins will be back after the split round, Grant is in good form.

    • CrimsonRaven

      June 8, 2010 at 9:34 pm

I haven’t needed to trade out Grey, I’ve had Rockliff and Pod’s no the bench since the start of the year, and have had other pressing concerns up the field. Not to mention theres a chance Gray could play this week :/

    June 8, 2010 at 6:19 pm

So why is Shuey listed as “indefinate” when he was 1-2 weeks last week??

    • Warnie

      Warnie

      June 8, 2010 at 6:20 pm

Because he had a virus which turned out to e Glandular Fever. Which has an indefinate timeframe.

      • Kevinf21

        June 8, 2010 at 6:24 pm

I’m guessing shuey is done 4 the year

      • Sheahen

        June 8, 2010 at 8:50 pm

yeah glandular fever is shit! i got it in the off season and i still haven’t fully recovered! i wouldn’t rely on him to play much this year, even if he does recover in a couple of weekes, his fitness will be way down along with his skills from lack of training , so don’t go there

Is getting Goddard this week unwise? I know he has a low BE but he may not go up much more after that…hope for a mediocre score in the next few weeks or just jump on now while I can (barely) afford it?

    • Hippos

      June 9, 2010 at 12:18 am

Get him now, if he has a bad one in a couple of weeks, just trade him out for a tasty $25k profit.

Well i guess the time has come to say when\if you make finals did you plan on having matt maguire in your side? I sure know i didnt. Whilst he has been more than servicable with a 75 average maybe its time for him to go?

Im very concerned with the whole 2-4 weeks. It is a foot and they seem to be very hard to come back from and given his past you would not think they would be keen to rush him back. I know this is wild speculation but someone who doent know shit but im just thinking it could be more like 4-5.

Pretty shattering about his price though, he has a lot more growth in him.

      June 8, 2010 at 8:08 pm

What do people think is a good option here? I have goddard and hodge and 427,000 to play with. I love what Heath Scotland has done this year cracking 100+ 7 times with a lowest score of 80! Very impressive. But alas im 3k short.

Gilbert looks the next best with 6 100+ games and only 3 points average different but 30k cheaper. He has had consistent scores with all but 1 62 against freo. Any st.kilda supporters know why that may have been?

    • orbs

      June 8, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Lastly i see this as an awesome opportunity to pounce on your league opponent. Many people will hold onto maguire in the hopes his 2-4 will be 4 and as a result be forced to play either webberly or davis. Both these guys have an average of around 50. If you trade now to a scotland or gilbert your getting yourself a 50+ better average.

Yeah you probably never planned on doing this, but i see it as an opportunity. Once ive decided ill be taking with both hands.

haha its funny how writing shit on this forum can make u make up ur mind.

Thinking the same thing.. Don’t like the sounds of a foot injury..

      Considering Maguire to Waite..
with P.Davis in the forward line I can cover Higgins with him aswell.. (Webberley to cover the backs)

      Thoughts?

Hmm Maguire out, If Hargrave plays I’ll bring him off the bench. If not, might go Maguire to Grimes- 9 trades left and scored 2412 last week so if their both out and I want to keep my rank and score up I might be forced to do it.

  31. Ike

    June 8, 2010 at 8:30 pm

Ok, with Warnock and Roughead on the pine, looks like I’m upgrading or trading Hille. Looking at Mitch Clark, he hasn’t been too bad the past month, is cheaper, and most of us will remember he came home last year with a wet sail! I know Clark burnt a heap of people at the start of the year, but will anyone who he hasn’t already burnt be getting on him????

Also, I’ve got Martin, Bastinac & Banner. My plan was Bastinac to Jizzy, then Martin to Barnacle. But with Banner playing SANFL magoos, should I just deal with it and pick up Jizzy for Banner as Jizzy may not play out the year – can’t have 0 cover on the bench just yet.

    Everyones thoughts?

    • Hayden

      June 8, 2010 at 9:45 pm

      hold banner

the hole idea of gysberts as a downgrade option is to make money not 10k

downgrade bastinac to gysberts and upgrade martin forget banner just forget about him i am he’s justholding that spot up

          June 8, 2010 at 9:58 pm

666 in the comp, not so sure I like copping a couple of donuts. 10 trades to go so a little bit of room to move I suppose.

I kind of like the idea of downgrading Basta, but will be kickin myself if i start gettin two mids not playing. I just saw Banner smashed it a couple of weeks ago, but still played twos. Is he going to get a gig in SANFL ones at least?

  35. Benny332

    June 8, 2010 at 10:29 pm

I wanted to turn Trengrove into Goddard this week, via:

Trengrove > Hunt (im not phased who, aslong as they are cheap)
Kennelly > ……….but I dont have enough cash for Goddard, shite.

I COULD do a three way trade over two weeks of DT, but is Goddard WORTH three trades?
My head says play Webberly (or Trengrove) and wait for Kennelly to return and see how his form is, to save the three trades? But I want the GUN!

Needs some advice guys. I’ve got 7 trades left and 45 grand in the bank, should I downgrade Kane Lucas to Jizz and upgrade Ballantyne to Pav, or should I sit on the trades? or just do Lucas to Jizz to bank the money?
Current mids r Swan, Goddard, Bartel, Barlow, Ball & Martin with Lucas and Stevenson on the bench and forwards r Gia, Pods, Ballantyne, Browndog, Grant, Stevie J and Sylvia with Gumby and Hitchcock on the pine, so I won’t be scoring any zeros, but Ballantyne is shitting me off.
    Any advice would be great.

WOW.. apologies ladies and gentlemen. A ‘friend’ of mine from my league has decided it would be fun to sabotage me and post ridiculous comments through an account he created. His team name is ‘Dad’s Ninja Hole’ and is some random bloke that has somehow found his way into my league. Hence why he knows my team name and is able to comment on it.

Neither captain Brad Johnson (Achilles) nor influential defender Ryan Hargrave (ankle) trained yesterday. Eade said Hargrave’s chances of playing on Sunday were ”probably less than 50-50”, and Johnson was a week away.

I said it before but i am definitely trading maguire. There is no way he will be back in 2 with a foot! They bloody cripple players and given his past I reckon he will be out for closer to the 4.

The way i look at it is this is an opportunity to get a lead on your league opponent. You upgrade maguire to say gilbert. Sure u only get a 25 point better average but a lot of people will persist with maguire hoping for 2 weeks. Even if it is 2 weeks that gives you two weeks that they will be playing webberley or davis for a 50 point average. That means u have 50 points straight off the bat against ur opponent each week.

    • eeepobreci

      June 9, 2010 at 9:27 am

Good point, but it’ll obv, boil down to how many trades people have got left.
Considering Maguires history, I’d say most coaches will infact trade him out-unless they’re down to 5/6 trades.
Really spewing, coz Merret back this week or next, may have freed up Goose to score a bit higher!?

  40. McScoundrel

    June 9, 2010 at 9:41 am

Keeping Maguire I am. Traded Kennelly the week he got injured on the basis that one of either Maguire or Kennelly were due to go, and I believe that Maguire will have a higher average in the second half of the year. Let’s face it, both are injury prone so I won’t be surprised if Maguire has to go too. Its a bad little spell for those who have Kennelly and Maguire but not Waters!
