Shags’ Watchlist

Another week another debut with Josh Battle (Fwd $174,000) who gets a run with Membrey out suspended. This would imply that his JS is shakey, but as it often goes, play well hold your spot. He started well in VFL this year however has had some time on the sidelines due to injury. I wouldn’t jump on this week but rather watch and see how he goes for 1 week.

MILESTONES: Luke Hodge – Playing 300th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Scooter, Scott Selwood (Mid $506,000) was in some amazing form this year before a couple of games on the sidelines. He’s still relatively cheap if that form can come back, but he certainly isnt the bargain he was earlier in the year. This is a watch for one week if you are considering him as a cheaper premium to jump on, his BE of 101 means he wont go up too much if he guns.

MILESTONES: Robbie Tarrant – Playing 100th game, Daniel Nielson – Played 1st game

Shags’ Watchlist

Another debut for the Roos Cameron Zurhaar (Fwd $150,000) gets his chance this week. He plays a mid forward kind of role which is always good potentially for Fantasy stats. Beware the issue with North rotating its rookies, so his Job Security is very shaky.

Gold Coast Suns v Collingwood, Metricon Stadium (4.35pm)

MILESTONES: Daniel Wells – Playing 250th game, Jarryd Blair – Playing 150th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Veteran Suns player Michael Rischitelli (Mid $447,000) is finally back after a very serious knee injury that required a reconstruction. As such you wouldn’t jump on this week. However he has been Fantasy relevant in the past, and he is all class as a Football player, and if he does come out and play like his form in the past, he is relatively cheap. One to chuck on your watchlist as a Mid premo cheapy.

GWS Giants v Sydney Swans, Spotless Stadium (7.25pm)

MILESTONES: Isaac Heeney – Playing 50th game

Shags’ Watchlist

If you started Luke Parker (Mid $565,000) like many of the swans players, you’d have been disappointed. But swans are back in the 8, and one of the big reasons is players like Parker who started poor have been lifting. Three tonnes on the trot, one being a huge 148, if Parker is going to continue scoring like this, he is definitely underpriced.

Wayne Milera (Calf), Scott Thompson (Omitted)

Shags’ Watchlist

Jay Kennedy-Harris (Mid/Fwd $195,000) gets another run for the Dees. Clearly his Job Security is shaky, however signs in the VFL are that he can really win the footy, with a couple of 40+ possession games! This doesn’t always translate to the AFL field, and his last 2 scores of 27 and 42 aren’t that impressive. However if he can keep a spot in the team, he has great potential as a cashcow.

Jacob Allison

Shags’ Watchlist

At the start of the season, it looked like Kane Lambert (Fwd $538,000) was barely top 22 for the tiges.
But just throwing it out there, his last 5 games have been amazing, averaging 111.8 with a high of 147, his role all of a sudden seems conducive to scoring in Fantasy. It would be a bold coach to grab him, and I must admit that this screams fools gold to me, but he has definitely done enough to earn a watchlist for me, especially since forward premiums are all over the shop this year.

Just realised I didnt have the new Pig potential in Dayne Zorko (Mid $668,000) on my watchlist, which is a glaring omission. 181. say no more. Averging 121.1 for the year. Only downside is he has avery low floor, with a score of 45. If you consider that an outlier, jump on board the Zorko train.

Shags’ Watchlist

Reports are that Lewis Young (Fwd $154,000) is an almost certainty to debut for the dogs on Sunday. Another one of those really tall former basketball draftees, he was a draft standout. With Easton Wood only out for a week however its going to take an amazing performance to hold a spot in the team. Make sure you check Sunday Extended bench selections

MILESTONES: Elliot Yeo – Playing 100th game

Shags’ Watchlist

Ryan Nyhuis (Def $168,000) was the toast of freo after his 4 goal haul last week including the games clutch goal. Surely after that game Freo will give him another chance this week. Only 67 points after 4 goals, and traditionally a lockdown defender, is a bit of a concern, but if he is named again that is a good sign for his Job Security. Make sure you check Sunday extended bench selection 5pm Friday.

  • Finally getting rid of Preuss. Who would be the best 150k rookie to replace him with?

  • not team sheet related but – im in a 18 team league where we all play each other once (meaning our fixtures finish in round 18) – jus wondering does anyone know whether we start finals in round 19 with gf in round 22 or if round 19 is a bye n we start in round 20 with gf in round 23. cant find anything on it anywhere. cheers legends :)

  • STAND by your man S martin

  • legends legends legends I’m sick of of it

  • Should i still trade stef if it allows me to go Tuohy to Doc

  • Had planned to downgrade Hannan (BE 67) to a rookie this week, but with Karpany out I think ill downgrade him first in case theres another late exclusion this week (JPK got me a doughnut last week with his late exclusion)

    Karpany > Hibberd
    Ainsworth > Jelwood

Ill most likely downgrade Hannan next week and upgrade Oliver to a premo

  • Scooter to Zorko
    or Hanners to Zorko

    • Tough call hanners been shit and scooter been injured and think been marked to tag this week toss a coin. Scooter probably more chance better score v Hawks and if tag will rack up 17 tackles so trade out hanners

      • Thanks mate,

        I’m leaning to scooter,
Hanners plays shit on the wing, but ive seen him named on the ball..

Love scooters tackles. has been injured and i rekon his last game was limited due to injury also (playing with tight hammy)

BE is in scooters favour, but doesnt mean much

GWS harder to score against than Hawks

trading our hanners pockets me an extra 20k and scooter will drop less than hanners for upgrade (or down to Jelwood) next week

    • Hanners, as Scooter should tackle his way to 90-120 every week

  • As a Kruez and Witts owner I’m not happy that cox and Archie got dropped. There goes my advantage

  • The two most important outs are not on the list… Archie Smith and Mason Cox.

Having Grundy and Martin in my ruck makes me feel a lot better seeing that.

  • Is Dom Sheed gunna play? He had poor run last week there are lots of ins for eagles they are coming off loss too he is on ext bench. Does the order mean anything? AFL site has him like 6th but above he’s first so dunno? If he is out I’m gunna have to hold Hanley

  • Best out of the potential new debuts? Best job security?

    • None really but at late stage of year JKH still $195k so is rookie with all of the injuries and outs at demons if he can play well he may cement a spot. All reports say he’s been carving in vfl does not always mean afl DT scores but shows he is fit

  • DEF: Docherty, Adams, Laird, Lloyd, Newnes, Witherden (Ryan, Willis)
MID: Titch, Danger, Merrett, Dusty, Treloar, JPK, Rocky, Mountford (Hibberd, Lloyd)
    RUC: Grundy, Stef (Cameron, McInerney)
FWD: Macrae, Heeney, Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Miller, Greenwood (Beech, Polson)

I have 14k in the bank, trade ideas would be appreciated, cheers :)

    • tough one..
your team isnt that bad, I wouldnt look to upgrade this week as you wont be able to do a decent upgrade. Maybe sideways trade someone to make some $. possibly cash in Lloyd. save cash to upgrade mountford to Jelwood next week (hopefully have a bit of a price drop again?)

  • best downgrade option in DEF to play as D8. Not too worried about JS, just rather have money in the bank. Im leaning towards Nyhuis, with Ryan at D7.

    tossing up between:
Nyhuis (aware score was inflated with goals last week)
Hibberd (is he worth the extra cash than Nyhuis, playing as D8)
Nielson (8k cheaper than Nyhuis, poorer JS)
    Joel Smith

  • Who to field out of Hibberd and Mountford?

  • Upgrading Nank in fwd line.
Who would be the better pick walters, menagola, buddy, roo, stevens.
I have Yeo. Greene. Macrea. Dahl. Heeney.

  • All my promos in woo hoo
    Which option please
    1. Z Jones and T stewart to simpson and hibbard
    2. Goldy and Rocky to Martin and Parker
    3. Z Jones and Rocky to Simpson and murphy
    4. Z Jones and Rocky to Doc and Withers can field Myers or withers

  • Who wins this trade in draft league?

    Aaron hall or Toby McLean?

  • Get Scooter, JPK, Greene and Greenwood back this week and draft in Zorko and K Stevens. I pity the fool up against me this week in league match up!

  • I can have Fyfe, Hall or scooter as an emergency…….. so who?

  • Best forward to bring in this week? Already have Macrae, Menegola, Heeney, Dalhaus, Greenwood.

    • Yeo has had a few down weeks but still has the best average for a forward (off the top of my head that is – is 102). Otherwise Stevens from the Saints I have and is a decent unique option.

  • Who to get in draft league? Hall or Mclean?

  • DEF: Adams, Lloyd, Laird, Newnes, Newman, Ryan (Hibberd, O’Connor)
MID: Titch, Danger, Zorko, Merrett, Murphy, Shuey, Dahlhaus, Witherden (Brown, Cousins)
    RK: Grundy, Stef (Darcy, Pierce)
FWD: Yeo, Heeney, Macrae, Stevens, Steele, Greenwood (Buzza, Polson)
    – 120k salary

Hi guys, any thoughts on possible trades by any chance??

Was going to get rid of stef and via DPP i could have got in docherty (which is well overdue), but now with Archie out I’m thinking it’s wiser to keep him. Maybe Greenwood to Joel Selwood in midfield (move Dahlhaus forward) and can hopefully then get to Beams in a week or two to ‘finish’ midfield.

    Any thoughts much appreciated!!

    • Im holding steph for that reason, selwood has a be of 131 so could be cheaper next week, greenwood has a be of 36 so a bit ofcash left in him still, could chop steel then bring in someone selwood, then just swap a bloke on ur bench, that would leave u with some cash for next week??

      • yeh righto cheers mate. In a way is a shame archie got dropped as may have worked better to trade stef out as was thinking i could still do greenwood and selwood next week with those breakevens as would move even closer together in price!

Steele’s form has been pretty good recently so do you think maybe trading dahlhaus might be the better option? doesn’t feel as comfortable trading him but just a thought.

        • if you are keeping steph this week it will be for the long haul he will loose a bit of cash, everyone has dahlhaus so no problem holding him, ur right about steelehe isin good form, ur sorta in a good spot, i only say not to trade greenwood as he has cash to make but others dont, its a good problem to have i guess

          • Yeh I agree on that now with greenwood 100%, better to hold one more week at least. I guess it may be a luxury trade in a sense for me this week possibly then as other few rookies still have way too much cash to make.

What are your thoughts on cousins to deluca (if he plays)/150k and then can get dahlhaus to Josh Kelly in midfield. Is a bit of a gamble as I am pretty much hoping that steele outscores dahl for rest of the year but on current form is possible. Would then mean i downgrade ryan or hibberd next week to get the cash to bridge the gap to get from greenwood to selwood or beams even?

          • sounds the goods, dusty is a bit cheaper for similar output that extra coin could be handy next week

          • thanks heaps for your help mate. much appreciated

  • My team:
Def: Docherty, Adams, Laird, Lloyd, Newnes, Witherden (Ryan, Scharenberg)
Mid: Mitchell, Dangerfield, Merrett, Martin, Treloar, Rockliff, Hannebery, SPP (Mountford, Cousins)
    Ruck: Grundy, Darcy (Buzza, Cameron)
Fwd: Macrae, Heeney, Yeo, Dahlhaus, Nankervis, Greenwood (Lloyd, Polson)

    Cash: $151k

Thoughts on what to do lads?

  • docherty, adams, Laird, newnes, shaw, newman(witherland, Ryan)

Dangerfield, T. Mitchell, merrett, kennedy, loyd, martin, myers, greenwood( cousin, mountford)

    Grundy, martin (Cameron, darcy)

Dahlhaus, heeney, macrae, menegola, Roughead,Nankervis (polson, brown)

    Have 171k in the bank

Could go shaw to hibberd then roughy to Duncan leaving me 299k

shaw to selwood moving loyd down back then roughy to duncan moving green wood forward leave me with stuff all

wouldnt mind keeping greenwood in mids for later on but cant see to many other options, anyone see anything else that could be of help, cheers in advance

    • I like the second option there that you’ve said. Maybe depends on your matchup in a league this week whether you need the win or could go first option and have that spare cash.

You’ll be able to get greenwood back into mid for a trade by downgrading mountford, when you need to, to a fwd/mid or fwd rookie as one of your trades that week so I wouldn’t worry about that in my opinion. So yeh, i like your second option on the whole there. Hope that helps.

    • Can you go Rough out move Greenwood fwd, move witherden onto field in mids, get Hibberd at d7, gives you 442k, then you can get either of Mountford or Myers to Zorko.
I wouldn’t trade Shaw I think he’ll be 90-110 from here on in.

  • Is Daniel Neilson worth a look or is zurharr a better option?

  • Marc Murphy or Scott Selwood? Thanks.

  • Zorko or Dochety- it has plagued me all week

Scharenberg to Smith, Cripps to Zorko (Ryan is e down back)

Mummy/Greenwood to dud, Cripps to Zorko.

I am leaning towards Zorko just so that means Mummy as R3 (playing Darcy), Greenwood F7.

    • how many defenders are averaging what doch is, on the other hand as good as zorko is going there are mids that will average around what he is

    • Thanks guys for the help.

If I jump on Zorko I should be able to get in docherty next week for greenwood anyways after a price rise.
I agree with the point abou docherty being a defender but either way I have to play witherden this week so it’s really tonne based on now who will score more.
120 in mid or defence at this time of year still is 120

      Gaff will be M8

  • Seriously tough one, agree. I luckily already have Zorko but also want the doch in badly!

I agree maybe just Zorko because you’re getting rid of a worse rookie in Scharenberg, however, if Greenwood is only on your bench maybe him instead. He obviously can make more cash still in comparison to Scharenberg so maybe just that option still and cash in mummy/greenwood in coming weeks. Hope that helps.

  • Mountford to Zurhaar & Dahlhaus to Ross
Double Downgrade and get rid of beech and cousins?

  • Chances Blakely gets DPP defence??

  • Who will be the new DPP next week?
    Any thoughts??

  • Def: Doc, Adams, Laird, Lloyd, Newman, Witherden, (Ryan, Willis)

Mid: Titch, Danger, Zerret, Danger, Kelly, Martin, Gaff, Greenwood, (Mountford, Cousins)

    Ruc: Grundy, Stef, (Darcy, Lewis)

Don’t want to get rid of the rookies i have currently as they have cash to make, so really not sure what to do.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • RIP Stef , Newman to Doch

  • Taking Karpany last week was a waste of time, though I guess he made me 24k.
Thinking of trading him to L.Young. I could get Kennedy-Harris instead.

Either trade would allow me to bring in Macrae for Hannan.
    Any thoughts?

  • Do I play Greenwood in my Mid over Witherden and have no fwd bench cover or play Witherden and DPP greenwood to fwd bench just incase someone doesnt play ie Greene.

Who will score more this week: Greenwood or Witherden

  • I really want Zorko but am concerned with him getting a tag. I know it’s only happened once and he plays in a bad team but watching parts of last weeks game he is just too damaging to let run around on his own. At least if I was coaching against Brisbane I would defs tag him

  • Now that Archie’s out, I have nank in my forward and Ryder in my ruck. Nank to Stef via DPP?

  • Simmo, Montagna or Laird?

    • Coin flip IMO
Ceiling wise – Laird then Simpson then Montagna.

But averages should all be ~100.
