Golden Stubby – Round 8

Voting is now open for the DT TALK Golden Stubby for Round 8. This coveted prize will be awarded to the player who excelled on the weekend, taking into account price, form, opponent and whatever else tickles your fancy!

This weeks nominations (collected by @WarnieDT through Twitter) are:

  • Kyal Horsley (108). Probably unlucky not to have won last week, the Horse now has three 100+ scores to his name out of his 4 games (his other was a 95)! What more does the young man have to do?
  • Patrick Dangerfield (142). Danger was a bit of a smokey pick for a few and has come through a few times for his coaches. This week he was dominant against the Blues racking up 35 touches and kicking 2 goals.
  • Brett Deledio (160). The medal winner in the Dreamtime at the ‘G game started beautifully and kept it up the whole game to top score for the night. Everyone has him, so it was nice of Lids to help push our scores a little higher.
  • Beau Waters (119). While it isn’t the hugest of scores, Waters apparently did a little hamstring in the warm up of the game and was looking like being a late, late withdrawal… he told the trainers and doctors to get stuffed and busted out for a massive game. Respect!
  • Steele Sidebottom (139). Arguably the most inform forward (and midfielder) in the competition at the moment… has scored 109+ over the last 6 weeks. Absolute machine!

Who deserves the Golden Stubby for Round 8

  • Kyal Horsley (30%, 963 Votes)
  • Patrick Dangerfield (29%, 938 Votes)
  • Brett Deledio (27%, 866 Votes)
  • Beau Waters (8%, 257 Votes)
  • Steele Sidebottom (6%, 218 Votes)

Total Voters: 3,240

Unlucky to not get a gig in the poll: Darren Pfeiffer, Daniel Merrett (really… we won’t put in such a DT irrelevant player in this poll), Tom Rockliff, Orren Stephenson, Dayne Zorko.

Stay tuned for the results. If you are a beer company looking at this, we’re looking for a sponsor of this awesome award (and much more brilliant exposure). Please contact us if you are a beer company and want to get on board!

  • All did well, but again its only voting for rd 8 not on how good he has been so far (horse) ,deledio explosive but danger RD 8 was just outstanding in every aspect of the game …..+ 1 Danger

    • So your saying Horse has to top score to get the golden stubby? That’s retarded. He cost 1/4 of the price of those other guys and he is averaging 100+. That is f**king platinum.

  • everyone +1 this if you had all of them :)

  • Would like to thank all the Golden Stubby Nominees helping my Bye-Polar Bears get the weekly prize in supercoach… I know it’s not DT.. But appreciate all the articles and comments on this site that help me get me the chocolates!!!

Bye-Polar Bears are doing okay in DT too 751 overall ;)

Best site for DT advice!! Expect for the Devon Smith to Allen Christensen :P (can’t win me all)

    • Quick everyone, trade to Ablett and then trade back to Swan in 2 weeks!

  • C’mon Patty

    ruc:Cox,Giles(Stephenson,Rowe)

    Fwd:Franklin,Robinson,Beams,Martin,porplyzia,treolar,adams(Hall,Paine)

    any trade options/thoughts much appreciated

  • TOBY GREENE suspended for a week!

Makes the decision to trade him out for Zorko so much easier.

    Thank you MRP

    • afl site says two.
Pies want him back before the bye.
      Fairly contradictory there…

  • It’s a toss up for me between danger and lids, those two saved me from annihilation in my league against my sister
would not have been pretty if she had won, I would never hear the end of it.

  • Is tBetta firing of any bullets this week?

    • Yeah but a bit later. He said tweeted that hes been crook.

      • Oh ok, cheers for that Shazzam.
If you’re reding this tBetta, get well soon mate.

  • my opponents would say Murphy for losing me $100,000 + and getting injured and out until round 13.

Seriously should be the Horse, he needs at least 1.

I thought Magner was the next Barlow, then Green and now Horse. We have really been spoilt by great mids this year.

  • yeah greene! kept nigs and he has repayed me :)

will be around same price as greene next week.

  • if the horse doesn’t win. I’ll start listening to DR.DREAMTEAM

  • Who should I trade in?

    Heath Scotland + 4K

    Beau Waters + 50K

    Suckling??

    Duffield??

Goddard, Deledio, ??????, Shaw, Birchall, Clarke and Bugg with Paine and Spurr.

Obviously, Waters suits my bye structure, but can’t refuse Scotland…..

Any advice will be taken on board!

    Thanks!

  • Scotland would be the safest option but hasn’t broken the ton in his last 3 games.
Waters would do wonders for your bye structure as you say.
Suckling is a bit inconsistent for me, would rather pay the extra $20k for Scotland

Instead of the Duffman, how about Greg Broughton? I know he is one of those “Never Again” type players but he is having more midfield time with Fyfe out of the side and has back to back hundreds.
Broughton would be my pick of bunch being cheaper than Scotland and having massive potential

  • Give it to Lids, what in underated performer! Star of the game and deserving of his high draft pick, buddy or no buddy.
