Roy’s Trade and Rolling 22 Talk – Rd. 19

Roy has a look at some unique options to help you sneak into the Finals and updates his Rolling 22

Get them in:

Ed Curnow (FWD/MID, $635,000)
A move back to the midfield has paid dividends for the Blues verteran and his scores are once again flourishing as a result. In the last six weeks he has been on fire, dropping under triple figures on just one occasion while topping 110 four times in that stretch. His next match is against the Crows who are one of the easiest teams for midfielders to score against and given his BE is just 53, he is a great unique option at just 6% ownership.

Toby Greene (FWD, $621,000)
Is the definition of high risk, high reward but if you need something from left field to get you into the running for your finals, this may be the answer. With all the injuries at the Giants, ironically they have turned back the clock to Greene’s midfield days to fill the void and he has done so without missing a beat. In the last two weeks he has scored 114 and 115 to give him a break even 52 for his 3% of owners.

Taylor Adams (MID, $621,000)
If you are starved for cash and in the market for a premium capable of going 116, Adams is back from a nine week layoff and didn’t miss a beat upon return with 111 against the Giants. Prior to the weekends game, he had only played five games this season but showed what he can do withing that stretch with scores of 116 and 120. After his Finals series last year where he  had a low score of 110 in four weeks he entrenched himself in the rolling 22 during the pre season, so the ability is certainly there.

Tim Taranto (MID, $787,000)
If you have the big buck, you might as well join the very happy 18% of coaches that are on board Taranto. Predictably, he has embraced the added responsibility in the injury depleted Giant midfield as we saw in the first half on the weekend where he laid 11 tackled before half time before finishing on 14 and 145. He has gone over 130 on seven occasions this year and has become one of the leagues uber premiums.

Darcy MacPherson (FWD, $647,000)
I really can’t bring myself to recommend trading in a Sun, however credit where credit is due, this bloke deserves a mention. He has been on fire of late, despite his struggling team with a three game average of 111 and he has dropped under 93 just once in 11 weeks while scoring in triple figures in four games straight prior to the weekends 122. He has just 2% ownership and could be the unique your team needs.

You… Get the Chop

James Sicily (DEF, $542,000)
I said the rollercoaster would be fun for the run home… until i realised it was a merry go round, not a rollercoaster, there are no highs. I misread his game against the Pies, the marks have dried up and he is struggling to get involved in switch plays while lining up against key forwards as opposed to finding himself loose for +6s. Chop him.

My Trades

At this stage my trades are Sicily to Whitfield and a cash grab from rookie Baker.
