Roy’s Trade and Rolling 22 Talk – Rd. 18

Roy looks at some trade targets for the run home and updates his rolling 22 after two Giant losses.

Get them in:

Rowan Marshall (FWD/RUC, $725,000)
The Saint big man is one of the form players in the competition with a five game average of 113. He hasn’t dropped under 100 in the last six weeks, while showing phenomenal consistency and has demonstrated a good ceiling with three scores over 120 in that time. What excites me most, other than his handy DPP that allows you to own the two big rucks is he is set for a career game against Tim English and the Bulldogs who give up ridiculous numbers to opposition big men.

Lachie Whitfield (DEF/MID, $779,000)
The hard running Giant once again showed he is capable of having an instant impact despite coming off an injury layoff with 117 despite missing the last four games. He is having a sensational year where his two sub 100 point games have only occurred due to injury. He has a high break even of 125 but is all class and needs to be in our back line sooner rather than later.

Patrick Cripps (MID, $645,000)
The Blues midfield bull returned after missing his two previous games to score a respectable 94 against the Swans at the SCG. What excites me most here is his matchup with the team that is giving up the most points to opposition midfielders… Oh and the fact he has scores of 163 and 162 in his last two against the Suns and this one is at MARVEL. He has had an up and down year but is a genuine star and will finish the season embracing the Blues new game style.

Josh Dunkley (FWD/MID, $856)
After playing out of position at the start of the year, Dunks is back in the midfield and dominating as a result. In the last ten weeks he has just one score under 118 and went ballistic on the Dees for 189. I wans’t going to mention him because I assumed everyone had him but his ownership is only 30%. He has a BE of 89 and needs to be the highest priority trade target for non owners.

Nic Newman (DEF, $626,000)
The Blues quarterback is being used far more under their new coaching staff than the beginning of the year and his scores reflect that with a three game average of 115 with a low score of 104 in that time. On paper, it looks like a dream match up against the Suns but they can be quite hard for defenders to score against, probably because it is never down there. There is also the chance the Suns new tagger, Sheer goes to him but with the runs on the board and a BE of 56, he is under priced.

You… Get the Chop

Brayden Fiorini (MID, $656,000)
After scoring under 110 on just one occasion in the first six games and getting my head ripped off for not having him in my rolling 22, the wheels have fallen off and Fiorini’s low scoring reflects the Suns inability to find the ball with a streak of four games without a triple figure return. He needs to be mover on for a premium.

My Trades

At this stage my trades are Sicily to Whitfield and a cash grab from rookie Baker.
