Roy’s Rolling 22 and Trade Talk: Rd 20

It’s the first week of Finals and Roy looks at his Rolling 22 and some viable trade options. Discuss your options in the comments section.

It’s Finals time! Here is the current Rolling 22, as well as a few players who might help you get over the line this week.

Rolling 22

Defenders:

Rory Laird
Gus Brayshaw
Elliot Yeo
Lachie Whitfield
Jake Lloyd
Kade Simpson

Who to bring in? Heath Shaw (DEF, $573,000) If you can’t afford someone in the Rolling back six, Heater isn’t a bad play if you need to take a punt on a cheaper player. Now we know he isn’t a player for the faint hearted coach, affectionately known Headache Heath over his career as he can back up the highest of highs with devastating lows. He is in great form for the resurgent Giants with a three game average of 100 including a nice ceiling of 121 in that time. He has ten scores over 90 this year and has the Blues for the first round of the Finals.

Midfielders:

Tom Mitchell
Andrew Gaff
Jack Macrae
Dayne Beams
Zach Merrett
Clayton Oliver
Matt Crouch
Stephen Coniglio OUT Patrick Cripps IN

Who to bring in? Patrick Cripps (MID, $755,000) Is a genuine beast! And he is converting his brilliance into awesome Fantasy form. Crippa has certainly been treating his 24% of coaches with a three round average of 133 and a five round average of 120. In fact, in the last seven weeks he has gone under triple figures on just one occasion with 96, which is his lowest score under 109 in that time while also reaching the lofty heights of 146 and 162. He has a break even of just 81 which reflects his good form given his heft price tag.

Gary Ablett (MID, $677,000) What an exciting inclusion the little master would be in a finals campaign, especially for the underdogs out there chasing  a unique option given he is owned by just 5% of the competition. He is in ripping form with a three game average of 117 on the back of his 130 on the weekend and in the last nine weeks, he has only two scores under triple figures.  He has six scores in the last eight weeks over 110 but of course there is a risk that he will be managed leading into finals, but given the Cats struggles, they may not have the luxury.

Ruck:

Brodie Grundy
Max Gawn

Forward:

Devon Smith
Justin Westhoff
Patrick Dangerfield
Isaac Heeney OUT Josh Dunkley IN
Chad Wingard
Tom Rockliff

Who to bring in? Josh Dunkley (FWD/MID, $635,000) has done it again and as a result has forced himself into the rolling six. He has been amazing since being unleashed in the midfield following the bye. He has a five round average of 108 with a lowest score of 99 in that time and two scores over 110 making him the most the most consistent premium forward at the minute. We have seen enough data to have confidence in the player and the role to making him an awesome unique to carry into the finals at an ownership of just 1%.

Downgrade target:

Jarrod Lienert (DEF, $243,000) backed up his excellent debut last week with 15 possessions, five marks and two tackles. He showed his potential in an excellent first half where he finished the second quarter on 50 points. He has good job security based on form and ball use and would serve as a good emergency and last minute cash cow.

My Trades:

Sier to a Freeman,

Hurley to Whitfield
