Shags’ Watchlist

keith
Another week another debut. I’d have thought they would have dried up by now, but there are a few more this week, one being Alex Keath (Def $150,000) as a replacement for Jake Lever. As such I don’t think his Job security is great, and he is a key position defender. Interesting back story for Keith as his is a convert from Cricket former Melbourne Stars player.

Shags’ Watchlist

Lark
Whats this? Another Roos rookie! Nick Larkey (Def/Fwd $150,000) comes in for an injured Mitchell Hibberd. As such there is actually a chance he could keep his spot as Hibberd is out for awhile. Another tall key position player so I cant see big scores. But its always worth keeping an eye on this new debuts.

Shags’ Watchlist

wing
The Chad, Chad Wingard (Fwd/Mid $547,000) has played some huge games through the mids recently with Port with 136 and 141 in 2 of the last 3 games. He definitely has a high ceiling. Problem is his floor is low (the other score of the 3 was 66 as an example). However his role and scoring at the moment is high enough for you to take note. All he needs is some consistency.

Shags’ Watchlist

ja
Jack Scrimshaw (Def $238,000) is expensive for a rookie. So why do you choose him? He’s pricey because he is a top 10 pick, and he is a top 10 pick because he is good. He is listed as a Defender, but he’s likely going to have a midfield role, and although very tall falls into the category as very mobile. This all screams potential to me. problem is at this awkward stage of the season most teams are looking to complete teams and his price is awkward, and if he plays well round 1, he will already be $250k+. Definitely worth keeping an eye on though.

Shags’ Watchlist

Marsh
There are debuts galore this week, and we get a ruck rookie too boot. Rowan Marshall (Ruck $150,000) is an option for those with cash on their ruck benches. He is a mature age rookie, and although a ruck status is more of a utility player with stints in both Defense and forward and a standout in the VFL this year. If he can hold his spot in the team, he could be decent ruck cover.

Shags’ Watchlist

glass
Its a rookie bonanza this week. Yet another with Conor Glass (Def/Mid $150,000) . Another Irish recruit hailing from Maghera in Northern Ireland.
This strikes me as a true blooding, since he is relatively new to the game, but was a really talented Gaelic Football player. He is also only 19 years old. However as we all know, he could have a great debut and be a star and keep his spot in the 22, especially since hawks are now in rebuild mode this year.

Shags’ Watchlist

cong
Stephen Coniglio (Mid $608,000) is a gun and has been sorely missed in the GWS midfield this year. He just has had a terribly injury plagued season this year. Only playing 2 games this year for 115 and 82. But this is even more reason to keep an eye on him. He cold be that premium midfielder that finishes the season strong and is a POD for your team. With a BE of 134 definitely don’t pull the trigger this week. however he could be a sneaky last mid upgrade for you if he shows enough this week.

mckay
Is this this week Harry McKay (Fwd $150,000) debuts? He’s made the Sunday extended bench, and there is a bit of hype about that which is usually an indication he will get a game. Im backing him in, but obviously check 5pm tomo before trading. There is a lot of fuss about McKay for a reason, he has been a goal kicking wizard for Northern Blues this year and was pick no. 10 for Blues in 2015. This could be the week.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter @shagbags2023 ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.
