AFL Teams 2017: Round 11

Full round 11 Bye Round teams are in!

5:00pm Friday 02/06/2017

Sunday extended benches are in and only 1 match to report on with Dockers vs Pies.
We can confirm Luke Ryan (Def $150,000) is making his debut. Unfortunately we have to wait a bit longer for Callum Brown (Mid/Fwd $182,000).

Friday Updates

6:25pm Thursday 01/06/2017

A pinch and a punch for the the first day of the month, and we have some new teamsheets for you on this first bye round. Early news was already that Aaron Sandilands (Ruck $466,000) will return.
Those who jumped on Jordan Cunico (Fwd/Mid), well, hes out. As is Brad Scheer (Mid $174,000) who some may have picked up for his bye round structure, but for Gary Ablett (Mid $672,000) who we can confirm is back in. POD Luke Shuey (Mid $620,000) who was in terrific form is also back in after a rest. Those who held Dan Butler (Fwd $291,000) his inclusion is very handy for the byes.
Rumours could be true about Luke Ryan (Def $150,000) who has made the top 22, check sunday extended bench selections Friday 5pm to confirm. Do the same for Callum Brown (Mid/Fwd $182,000).

Thursday Updates

6:25pm Wednesday 31/05/2017

Port vs Hawks Partial lockout teams are in. No changes to Port, and no changes to Hawks. Both hawk Debuts from last week James Cousins (Mid $167,000) and Dallas Willsmore (Mid $155,000) have held their spot. There is no sign of Chad Wingard (Fwd $500,000).

6:00pm Wednesday 31/05/2017

Teams for Thursday game Port vs Hawks will be announced ~6:15pm tonight. Its the first round of the byes with no Brisbane Lions, Carlton, Melbourne, St Kilda, Sydney Swans, Western Bulldogs; and we are playing top 18 players on field. Its also another partial lockout game, so make sure your Hawks and Port trades are lined up before the partial lockout at 7:50pm Thursday, with only a brief window knowing full weekend teams.
Especially relevant for those wanting to trade in Port players who play every game over the next three byes.
Early news, Gary Ablett (Mid $672,000) is expected to return after 1 week rest with a sore shoulder. There is some chatter about rookie Luke Ryan (Def $150,000) making a debut, but we’ll have to wait til tomorrow to see if this is vaguely true, and even then he will be on the Sunday extended bench.

Shags’ Watchlist

ebert
A lot of people have avoided Brad Ebert (Mid $595,000) because they have been burnt in previous years, and one of those players quoted as on “never again” lists. But his number just can’t be ignored this year, avraging 108.1. On top of that he plays every bye so he is a handy upgrade option this week.

cous
James Cousins (Mid $167,000) looks just about the best of the downgrade options this week with a solid 66 in his debut. Can he keep his spot in the team? He also has the awkward round 13 bye which could make it difficult for your bye structure.

scooter
Scott Selwood (Mid $439,000) or “Scooter” as people affectionately call him has been a revelation since he came back with a cool 119 for each of his first two games. Already gained $59k but is cheap if he keeps scoring the way he has been scoring.

Shags’ Watchlist

gaz
The little master himself Gary Ablett (Mid $672,000) who was a POD at the start of the year, looks like hes back to form averaging 117.4 for the year. Shoulder concerns may make a few wary, but the fact he plays all 3 byes will make him a very tempting upgrade this week.

Shags’ Watchlist

greene
Toby Greene (Fwd $509,000 ) Was in scintillating form last week scoring a handy 114. His form has been rocky this year, but maybe the 2 week spell due to his report did him some good. If he can back up this week with another solid game, he could be a good upgrade option (Perhaps look after his bye round 13 though).

ellis
It would be a very brave coach to trade in Brandon Ellis (Mid/Def) this year, since his scores have been woeful with nothing above 80 except for last week. But last week he scored like he has in previous years getting a 126, and he is so cheap. I wouldn’t go for him unless he scores a few. However a few may take a desperate long shot.

ryan
I think the hype about Luke Ryan (Def $150,000) is mostly due to the fact we all desperately want a cheap backman downgrade option. Hes a mature age rookie, who has sparked a lot of interest with his VFL form and VFL Rising Star winner. I have a feeling he will be named (Ross Lyon is known to play silly buggers) but do check the Sunday Extended bench selections on Friday.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter @shagbags2023 ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.
