AFL Teams 2017: Round 7

Round 7 teams are in!

5:15pm Friday 05/04/2017

Sunday bench extentions are in. The big news is Nic Newman is out again and Alex Neal-Bullen is also out.

David Myers has made the cut as did Jake Barrett.

Friday Updates

6:30pm Thursday 04/05/2017

Teams are in! Anddd….the carnage continues. Rookies out are Zac Fisher (Hamstring), Jack Bowes (Omitted), Tom Stewart (Omitted), Andrew McGrath (Rested), Ben McNiece (Rested), Brandon Jack (Omitted).
Many will be praying that Jake Barrett (Mid $241,000) makes the sunday list cut, hes named on the field which is a good sign. David Myers (Mid $197,000) will be a popular pick this week seeing as he is a experienced player who should have great Job Security and is rookie priced. Been tearing it up in the seconds as well. Just make sure you check the sunday extended bench selections first. And no Preuss to save Nankervis owners. David Swallow (Mid $414,000) is back in, as well Jordan De Goey (Mid/Fwd $455,000) from club imposed ban, and James Parsons (Fwd $201,000) from his report.

6:00pm Thursday 04/05/2017

Teams will be released from ~6:25pm tonight. Already building up for some carnage. Popular picks Toby Greene (Fwd $510,000) and Toby Nankervis (Fwd/Ruck $472,000) have been reported for 2 and 1 weeks respectively. Dayne Beams (Mid $581,000) is out with a Quad injury, reports that Jobe Watson (Mid $505,000) will be rested
There’s even been the revelation that Patrick Dangerfield (Mid $649,000) has been playing hurt, which screams possible resting. Brandan Parfitt (Mid/Fwd $312,000) will be out for awhile with a nasty hamstring injury. All this and teams haven’t even been named yet…
Some small good news with Ivan Soldo (Ruck $150,000) being likely to cover for Nankervis for his one week. His Job security would be woeful, but hey, its not like many other ruck rookies are getting a game.
Also Suns a blooding a new rookie in Brad Scheer (Mid $150,000). We will finally get to see star Stephen Coniglio (Mid $625,000) back in action for the Giants, and Veteran Jarrad McVeigh (Def $499,000) is back for the swans.

Shags’ Watchlist

cogs
Stephen Coniglio (Mid $625,000) was a mainstay at the Giants midfield and a good reason for their amazing success last year averaging 105. The big issue is his recovery from his ankle injury. Definitely one to throw on your watchlist as a potential for a sneaky POD upgrade,

Shags’ Watchlist

mrouch
Is Matt Crouch (Mid $573,000) the real deal this year? He certainly has loved it since the inclusion of his brother Brad scoring 118 and 122 the last two weeks. If you think he can keep this scoring up it could be a sneaky grab whilst his price is reasonable.

Shags’ Watchlist

degoey
Controversial player Jordan de Goey (Mid/Fwd $455,000) is back in the pies team after club imposed sanctions for his dodgy behavior. He has been killing it in the seconds and is a player with a lot of potential upside. Watch to see how he goes this week.

Shags’ Watchlist

yeo
People had already started to notice his form as a possible forward premium option, and then he went bang with a 152 score.
Elliot Yeo (Mid/Fwd $557,000) will go from a POD to a popular forward pick this week. Be aware that his previous reputation is that of a yeo yeo, and as a utility player has been known to be thrown back as a key defender. Saying that his role looks amazing this year.

danger
All eyes are on, or should be on Patrick Dangerfield (Mid $649,000) this week. If you are part of the 50% of teams that own him, you will want to see if reports of him playing with an injury will continue affecting his game. if you are in the other 50% of teams, you should be rubbing your hands with glee at how cheap Dangerfield could become.

soldo
Initiation of fire for ruck rookie Ivan Soldo (Ruck $150,000) who will get his chance to strut his stuff with Nankervis is out for 1 week.
The problem is, Nankervis is out for 1 week, so thats a Job security of 1 week. But hey, no other ruck rookies are playing, and if it covers a donut and grabs some cash for Preuss on your bench, why not. He is the only ruck rookie getting a game afterall.

Shags’ Watchlist

heeney
Isaac Heeney (Fwd $443,000) was a popular hype player in the preseason who was in terrific form and a great potential for a breakout year. Then unfortunately he was struck down with Glandular fever. Well smashing out a 120 last week he looks well and truly recovered. After a first week of 60 his score remains pretty cheap, but you are taking the punt he can keep this up.

Shags’ Watchlist

Hib
Players roles at new clubs are always interesting, and Michael Hibberd (Def $443,000) has been Fantasy relevant in the past. Scores of 97 and 84 coming back aren’t amazing but he is pretty cheap, and the potential is there. I’d personally watch for a week or two more to see if his output increases and he stays in a consistent role.

Shags’ Watchlist

myers
David Myers (Mid $199,000) will be a very popular trade in this year. Rookie priced, but should have a pretty good Job security, bombers sort of owe him a few games after his 1 year suspension. He has also been smashing it in the seconds, and famous for having an absolute huge boot which means they do love getting the ball to him. He’s named on the field so should be a shoe in to play, just double check sunday extended benches just in case.

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter @shagbags2023 ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.
