DT Talk State of Origin League Challenge!

This year the DTTalk Writers got squads together from their states to see who really is the best DT state out there. Have a look to see how our leagues are going. One of them is going exceptionally well!

So after 5 weeks we thought it was time to give you a bit of an update as to how each of the states is going.  I am actually surprised the WA boys weren’t beating my email box down to get an update done!

As you know at the start of the season the DT Talk writers took it upon themselves to get a group of the best DTer’s that they could from their respective states and to see who was the best.  Below are the current standings of each of the leagues.

1. Western Australia – Overall Rank #1

dt talk wa rd 5It’s been an awesome start to the year for the boys (and girls) out west, showing the rest of the country just how they roll over there. Tbetta’s crew has put in a massive effort to sit atop the league rankings after the first 5 rounds on the back of some super consistent scoring throughout the league. “EVOC7”, coached by Scott, leads the way with a very impressive overall ranking of 32. “Samurai Saints”, coached by Mong & “THE LEGENDS”, coached by Tom, also find themselves sitting in the top 1000 after 5 rounds. Tbetta himself has moved his way up since the last update, currently sitting 12th with an overall ranking just inside the top 8000. Duckys Goldens, coached by Matt, proved the catalyst to the league’s rise to number 1 last week with a massive score of 2283 – good enough for a weekly ranking of 55! The big test now for Tbetta and his disciples is whether or not they can sustain the rich run of form they have started the season with and just how long they can stay at the top for.

2. South Australia – Overall Rank #24

DT Talk SA Rd5The South Australian league is hanging in there just nicely with an overall rank of 24.  Only 5 of us now averaging less than 2000 with some great scores over the last few weeks.  Monkey’s Magic are out in front coached by Darren who had an impressive 2163 last round.  I am down in 11th spot after an ordinary start to the year so thanks to all the other guys for carrying me so far!  We are going to continue our charge to the top and hope to be up there with the WA boys shortly.

3. Tasmania – Overall Rank #64

DT Talk Tas Rd5The  DT Talk Tassie league has dropped  off  a little in the overall league rankings after a great start  from sitting about 30th  to now at 64th which is still good. Mitchell coach of HilleisaspankerEDT has come out very strong in the first 5 rounds not only leading the league in points but also winning his first three head to head games! Heaters Heroes coached by Heath would be feeling unlucky while ranking 4th in total points but has only managed to get one win from the first three games. The top five have opened up a bit of a buffer on the rest of the competition with a solid 100 point gap between 5th and 6th.

4. Queensland – Overall Rank #83

DT Talk Qld Rd5We’re currently sitting 83rd overall in league ranking, which is solid at this point. I’m sitting in the middle whilst the likes of House of Sticks and Surly Duffs. There are a few guys that need to lift their avg score per round a bit higher if we’re to challenge – but at this point I’m proud of where we are. Unlikely to challenge Tbetta at the top but we’ll certainly give it a good crack! Don’t count us Queenslanders out. Ever.

5. Victoria – Overall Rank #186

DT Talk Vic Rd5Our highest overall ranked performer is DeDemolition  (coach Jake) – ranked 694. Lowest ranked is Sell Wood Cutters (coach  Kurt) – ranked 60,324.  Unfortunately, our co-captains Crutton (The Fear Boners  – ranked 21,306 with an average/round of 1,981.40) and Douth (Cousins  Coke n Ice – ranked 46,631 with an average/round 1,921.40) are ranked  14th and 17th in the league respectively, however  we can confirm that we still have the utmost confidence in our structure  and are likely to see considerable improvement in the short term. Stuey  Den (ranked 27,165) has had his struggles as well this year, but like  a good team does, he will back in his structure and will get just reward.  DT Talk’s very own Adzman’s Aces is sitting pretty  and seems primed to make a move, and the other 5 who aren’t yet averaging  over 2,000 points per round will soon raise the bar.

The next month is huge for the DT Talk Vic League,  and we will soon prove why #vicsdoitbetter.

Lets bring it home #BigV, and #StickItRightUpEm!

6. Territories – Overall Rank #370

DT Talk ACT Rd5The ACT League is tracking well, with only three teams dipping below the 2,000 mark this week. Scorgasms, coached by Jayson is leading the way, with an overall rank of 1,734. All teams scored well above their five round average this past week, showing that although starting slow, the coaches are all on the up, with the league climbing 157 places since the last update.

7. New South Wales – Overall Rank #456

DT Talk NSW Rd5After a disastrous start that saw the NSW League ranked amongst the ghost ships and auto select sides the resurgence has been remarkable.  From a horrible 4 figure ranking, we’ve put the foot down and roared into the upper 3 figures with the proverbial bullet.  And given NSW is the state where all the dough is, among our teams there is enough cash to fund the NDIS on our own.  Such will be the demand for guns from NSW over the coming weeks, we’re fielding daily calls from arms dealers in America’s deep South.
Special mention to Liam and his Scamsoup a stars who are leading the way for us at the moment.  A massive 2251 in last weeks round sees him into 559 overall, and the boy is smoking.  So while all the peripheral states are gloating over their top 100 rankings and congratulating themselves, NSW are in the pack with the jockey sitting quietly ready to unleash a withering Super Impose like burst from behind. You have been warned.
A big thanks to all those that helped me with comments for their teams @seanyt07 for WA, @jaydenDT for Tas, @McRathDT for Qld, @CruttonHutton for Vic, @RLGriffin85 for the Territories and @jackavis1 for New South Wales
So get behind your leagues in the comments and as we are starting to see some trends, we will keep you up to date with how things are going in another couple of weeks.
Cheers
