It’s back! Bigger and better than ever. The #DTSM (Dream Team Stock Market), is your one stop shop, for pretty much, well, everything! Dream Team might have the Assistant Coach (for $19.95), but the Assistant Coach doesn’t have me (free of course) or twitter (also free) or have a crystal ball (umm, working on that part).
For those of you new to the Dream Team Stock Market, quite simply, it’s the bees neez when it comes to working out and deciding how to make money for your dream team and speed up the process in which you raise your salary cap to create the competitions ultimate side! Remember, at the start of the year, players (besides LTI’s, rookies or players returning from Ireland) are valued at how they performed last season. You spend the money, you are banking on that player to perform to that value. The more money you have to spend, the more money you have to spend on players that are performing! That’s why it is so important to know when to jump off a player that has peaked and jump on someone at a lower than valued price.
Firstly apologies to those that sat down on Thursday morning with there beloved bowl of cornflakes in readiness to read this weeks DTSM. I’ve decided to release and finalise the Dream Team Stock Market on a Friday. It gives me a bit extra time after the teams are announced on a Thursday night just to make sure the information I provide is as relevant as possible for the upcoming round ahead. I am also tweaking my weekly article each week till I find the right mix. Once rookies are ready to cash out, things will be in full swing.
Also a quick shout out to Dane Swan. Thank you for making my ANZAC Day one of the greatest I remember. I had you as Vice Captain, I shouldn’t have doubted you and should have given you the big “C” before the bounce. My apologies *rubs belly*. What a legend.
Here we go…
MONEY MAKERS – TOP 5
1. James McDonald (MID) $98,700 ($0) B/E: -117 AVG: 91 LAST 2: 98, 84
“Old MacDonald had a farm, Ee i ee i oh!And on that farm he had some cows, Ee i ee i oh! With a moo-moo here, And a moo-moo there. Here a moo, there a moo, Everywhere a moo-ooo…Old MacDonald had a farm, Ee i ee i oh!” In this case, James is the cow, and the farm is your DT. If your farm doesn’t have McDonald, it’s a pretty shit farm. Moo.
Weekly Stock Market Prediction: ↑$85,000
DTSM Value: $418,000
2. Adam Treloar (MID/FWD) $104,200 ($0) B/E: -83 AVG: 75.5 LAST 2: 66, 85
Another one of the GWS cows running around. Will more than likely be a very highly traded in downgrade this week. His scores and productivity are both increasing at the same rate (fancy that?). You just have to decide if his J.S is long or short and whom to trade him in for? Dickson? Milera? Couch? Jack Riewoldt? (sorry Jack).
Weekly Stock Market Prediction: ↑$65,000
DTSM Value: $345,000
3. Josh Drummond (DEF) $289,400 ($0) B/E: -11 AVG: 100 LAST 2: 95, 100
Be very very quiet. Do not tell Josh that his name is on a “buy” list. That might tear his hamstring. Feels like he is moments away from a Final Destination type of injury but also moments away from being top 5 half-back in the competition. You would be brave to bring him into your side, but fortune favours that sort of thing, right?
Weekly Stock Market Prediction: ↑$45,000
DTSM Value: $460,000
4. Thomas Bugg (DEF) $216,900 (↑$112,700) B/E: -17 AVG: 78.2 LAST 3: 53, 93, 66
Yep, the Bugg is still on the list for one last time. At a touch over $200k, he is still a valuable inclusion. The only player whom has played over 3 games still on the list. Reasoning? There aren’t many cheap backline options, especially now. Plus he is playing a good DT brand of football and has the ability to score highly, helping him cash up or maybe, be a keeper.
Weekly Stock Market Prediction: ↑$40,000
DTSM Value: $365,000
5. Jack Ziebell (MID) $384,900 ($0) B/E: 26 AVG: 113 LAST 2: 139, 87
“Z” is the last letter in the alphabet. Ziebell is the last on my last. Coincidence? I have no idea where I am going with this joke… Jack is averaging 113 in his 2 games so far and is up against the Gablettless Suns. The Kangaroos could probably have the ball the entire game. Ziebell could very well be the next player to have a break out year. Especially that Swallow, Bastinac and Anthony are keeping the opposition at bay.
Weekly Stock Market Prediction: ↑$35,000
DTSM Value: $510,000
DTSM “Buy, Buy, Buy” Watchlist:
Darren Pfieffer (FWD/MID) $117,800 – 1 gamers playing this week.
Lachie Neale (MID) $98,700
Jack Crisp (MID) $85,800
Sam Shaw (DEF) $104,200
Jesse Stringer (MID) $104,200
SHOW ME THE MONEY
Rightio, we are getting awfully close to begin cashing in our rookies. This is the go-to-section of DTSM for knowing when to trade them out. This is my personal view. By no means do you have to follow it. I don’t like to stick around for 6 weeks to make another $20k. Fortune favours the brave (and smart).
1. Chad Winguard (MID) $164,400 (↑$7,200) B/E: 42 AVG: 38.2 LAST 33, 46, 20
As far as Dream Team goes and money making. 2012 isn’t the year for Chad and the boats been missed (possibly torpedoed off the coast of GetAKick island). If you do still have Chad (why?), jump off. Take the $7,200 he made you and go buy a fluro vest, place a photo of Chad at the bottom, “the best there ever was” labeled at the top, get it framed and finally, find the person who told you to keep him till Round 4 and beat the living *#&$ out of him. If that person is you… well, this is getting awkward.
Time to Cash Out: 4 weeks ago.
Trade suggestions: James McDonald, Adam Treloar, Lachie Neale, A Goat (doesn’t have to be alive either)
2. Rhys Stanley (FWD) $262,600 (↑$98,400) B/E: 32 AVG: 78.5 LAST 3: 96, 88, 52
Has shown glimpses of being a productive forward option, but just has not quite hit the ceiling we need him too. Hoping this week he has a blinder! Or he could be cashed out sooner than planned. I might be a little harsh, but he isn’t going to be a keeper and at $260k already, easy to turn into a premo!
Time to Cash Out: 2 weeks time. All dependant on this weeks game. Stay tuned.
3. Adam Kennedy (FWD/MID) $198,500 (↑$94,300) B/E: 31 AVG: 71.7 LAST 3: 72, 58, 41
My AK40. What went wrong? You murdered it in the first round, now you are butchering it. I won’t be trading you out, yet. But it must be noted your B/E of 31 is nearing danger levels. But Aki I really want to get in Treloar this week. Well, if you have huge brass balls, then by all means, pull the trigger. It’s not the worst decision you can make. I still think he still has a big game left in him. Will have to wait another week before he gets another game.
Time to Cash Out: 3 weeks time. Unless you are desperate to downgrade/upgrade.
4. Jamie Cripps (FWS) $169,400 ($5,000) B/E: 48 AVG: 36.5 LAST 3: 37, 35, 26
Your not really being shown the money… more so, changing investment plan at a small loss. There is anything really to speak of. Just hopefully he manages to break 50 this week and earn the money he has lost back.
Time to Cash Out: Next week. Hoping he hits the lofty B/E of 48 and maybe get back in the green.
5. Terry Milera (FWD) $202,200 (↑$86,400) B/E: 27 AVG: 66 LAST 3: 85, 53, 52
The 3rd Saint on the list. It’s saying something! (farked if I know what). Milera’s last 2 haven’t been earth shattering. Still a handy player as a 7th Fwd atm or Emergency. I really like the way this guy plays, his game just isn’t quite DT friendly enough yet. Bit of a dark horse.
Time to Cash Out: 2 weeks time. All dependant on this weeks game. Stay tuned.
CHANGE OF PLANS
Premium didn’t work out? Mid-Pricer lost the plot? Injury ruining your team? You will probably find those issues on this list.
1. Robbie Gray (MID/FWD) $402,000 ($0) B/E: 129 AVG: 67
31 seconds to go, Robbie tried his darnest to impersonate an ostrich. 10/10 for effort. Sadly, this task requires a full knee reco and 12 months on the sidelines for the luckless Mr. Gray. Lucky for us his value is yet to change. All the best and a speedy recovery mate.
2. Gary Rohan (FWD) $218,200 (↓$8,600) B/E: 86 AVG: 46.7
Just when I thought the Robbie Gray injury couldn’t be any more horrific to watch, Gary Rohan takes the cake. Snap the base of his peg, in half. That kind of injury can do a lot more than rule someone out for 12 months. I expect him to come back mid next year, stronger than ever. Get better soon bud.
3. Todd Goldstein (RUC) $382,300 (↓$109,300) B/E: 164 AVG: 53.2
Has been dropped to the VFL. So I was wrong, things did get worse. I doubt anyone has him still, but if you do. You know the drill.
4. Shane Mumford (RUC) $452,400 ($0) B/E: 118 AVG: 89
The mummy! The big fella didn’t take too well to being jabbed and has had an operation to remove an infection in his back. Poor guy can’t take a trick. Similar to my good mate “Ray Ray” whom I talked into trading out Mummy last week for Sandilands (whom is out this week), sorry buddy! Mumford is a nightmare, I’d be trading him out pronto.
5. Andrew Carazzo (DEF/MID) $409,200 (↓$45,600) B/E: 176 AVG: 73.7
The timeframe for Carazzo is that annoying 6+ weeks. If I had him, he’d have to go. Plenty of options to go to. Whether you downgrade or sideways trade. Also, sending a player death threats because of the tackle that sidelined Carrazzo is pathetic. Wake up to yourselves. Sam Lonergan is a great guy and always a pleasure to speak to when I see him. Grow up.
A new little segment to get my followers on twitter involved. Looking at a specific player, heard rumours, need to go unique? Starting from next week, Tweet me on a Wednesday night after 8pm with the #DTSM hashtag and a player you want me to talk about and I’ll pick the best 3 to get in the #DTSM.
Had a couple of people tweet this name. At $360,700 DPP (MID/FWD) he is an interesting option, similar to Fyfe, less production. If Fyfe is going to try and tough it out all year, then I’d say no to Clancee. If Fyfe goes down again very soon, then i’d say why not. Has already gone up $55,700 in price (B/E 12). So you would really want to catch the train before it’s off. Back to back 100’s is impressive. The name Brendan Whitecross comes to mind though…
Mini Swanny. Started in the middle on ANZAC Day and looked great all day. Was easily in top 5 players for the match, alongside fellow DPP Pie, Steele Sidebottom. Beams is currently $472,100 (↓$30,700) and had a B/E of 130 this week and scored 121. The DT first lady grabbed him at the start and told her to persist with him. So if you are considering him, jump on him next week.
Sneaky. Seeming you placed the #DTSM hashtag in there, I’ll do both these players. Firstly Christensen. At $334,700 (↑$72,300) and a DPP (MID/FWD), he is another great prospect. Is just starting to build this year and is beginning to look the goods again. VERY good option up forward. I’d be interested to see how he goes this week first. As for Reece Conca. The only issue I have is loading up your backline with too many Richmond defenders. But he would be a great inclusion if you can cover Richmonds bye round and have Deledio.
All the best for the weekend!
